You are supposed to download the BG.Radar.Overlay.7z file and unzip it anywhere.
    The launcher is inside

How do you install this? I downloaded 2.06.4 but can't see a launcher anywhere in the folder

There is a single executable. Nothing more.
If you see nothing inside the archive why would it weigh 48mb right?

So its either your archiver or antivirus tricks

Sadly, I don't have the expertise to port it to Mac. Don't even know if MacOS allows for scanning other processes' memory

Very good mod. I just installed, huge difference and game is much more enjoyable now. No more guessing and wiki :)

For example, I cast Silence on Ogre Mage and right click and it shows me how many rounds in effect.

Installed also the other mod in the video spells icons floating and showing me end of round bar - very helpful.

Any idea why this stopped working. It was fine yesterday when I installed it and playing through. However today it's not showing ?

Make sure the game is running in windowed mode. If you are using an AMD video card make sure the alternative renderer is checked.

Attaching the radar.log file might also help.

sorted thanks. Didn't realise I had to run 'overlay' each time (at least I assume that's what the problem was)

Ah, yess! It is not a regular mod you install - it is a standalone program that is supposed to be run alongside the game

    It needs 2.6, yesh.

Technically there were some very early versions for 2.5 but they aren't production ready.

This mod would serve much better if there was additional batch file that runs the game and then launches BG Radar Overlay after few seconds delay. Overall good stuff highly recommended if you play with tactical challenge mods like SCS, Butchery, and/or Made In Heaven Tweaks.

    Create your own .bat file:
    start /d "C:\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\" InfinityLoader.exe
    start /d "C:\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\" BGRadarOverlay.exe

    Could you provide multilingual support?

    Could you provide multilingual support?

It is already there - you can right click the radar icon and in options window choose the language your game is in. It would translate all the monsters, spells and items but the static UI text of the radar would remain in English.

Just implemented one user's feature request - showing the damage type for enemy weapons.
Would be greatful if somebody would test it a little.

Also, fixed a bug when sometimes weapon details were parsed from a wrong resource file.

The new release is available here

I'm currently testing my next mod with your tool. It’s incredibly helpful for mod development, and I just wanted to say thank you for creating and sharing it! Should I notice anything in the latest version, I’ll report it here.

    Glad it helps <3

Any chance the radar overlay could be shown based on the character-under-mouse-pointer while a key is held (the same way eeex does it for the status effects) rather than as a flyout from the top of the window? I imagine this might be a lot of work since you'd probably have to be scanning a whole other area of memory, and capture the keypress.

    Tangentially...

Absolutely fantastic that this game is still actively modded after twenty six years (ok, 12 years for EE, but still... ). Then again this IS the best game ever in my opinion (beats KSP by a hair).

I wanted something like this from day one with the original Baldur's Gate and I have been watching this mod progress since I first saw it used on Twitch a few years ago (Beoufy? Dav? I don't remember) . Sometimes it's just too hard to get good information from the combat log.

I see no reason to, like if its already done by EEEx why would radar do the same?

I don't think he means what EEEx does, but rather how, to display the info while a certain key is pressed instead of a right-click toggle. With bg-partner I did it by fiddling with window/game-area coordinates and mouse position so as not to rely on a windows-only mouse event, but it's a toggle too.

If so, there already is an option for it on the "Options" window, I believe it was a toggle to use ctrl + right click instead

Yep, that's what I meant - the radar data, but using the mechanism of eeex. I never noticed that option existed, nice! Legend :)

Are there different options to decided on the level of details?

For instance, the Aura NPC has some feature where some info is shown; I believe this may take an action and delay, or
    something like that.

What may be nice is if something like this may be available, e. g. when a character concentrates for a turn or so, and
finds out details about a monster or something like that. Could be a class-specific feature (rangers) or a generic
functionality or so. Other players may prefer full-info without in-game actions at all times, so basically my question
is more about how much one can fine-tune this. Personally I kind of prefer more the "find out via action in game"
approach. (Or even a spell but I am unaware of a spell that shows info about enemies?).
