Hello everyone! I don't know if there's a similar or exactly-like-this-one poll out there (I couldn't find one), but anyway... which class is your absolute favorite and why? If it's a specific kit, please state which one.
Edit: If it's a dual- or multiclass... then I'm sorry, I totally forgot about them. ._.
I'll start.
My favorite class is easily the paladin, despite all of its cons. There are several reasons for this: for one, I like the whole "holy knight" aspect of it. I think being a warrior-priest servant of a chosen deity... well, sounds bloody awesome. Secondly, I've always liked being the good guy. And paladins... well, you know. Thirdly, I think is fun to rp as one, even if I find it a bit challenging at times. I mean nowadays I have little to no trouble avoiding Lawful Stupid territory (thank you, Book of Exalted Deeds).
But when Imoen wants to start looting the bodies of our fallen enemies (or even locations long-forgotten)... or when my charname falls in love with Viconia... or when my charname has to tackle the whole affair with the Shadow Thieves and Bodhi's vampires... or when my charname needs to sneak into a drow city disguised as one of them... Yeah. At times like that, it's not easy to be a paladin, I'll tell ya. Not even a slightly unconventional one.
Even so, I've always loved this class and I probably always will!
How about you guys?

In fact, one day when I accomplish my dream of building my own house: I will also build a tower which will house my books
The fighter class itself I always found to be very dumbed down with ad&d, so the vote goes to the thief part of this mixture.
Yeah, I like the other hybrid classes as well. In fact, a fond character of mine, Harodrim Murkwood, is a ranger. He's my canon charname in NWN: SoU. I also like the fighter/mage dual-/multiclass. Because... well, I just do. :P
Growing up, I always enjoyed reading about Gandalf in the Hobbit and in The Lord of the Rings. Classic stuff. Later on, I read and thoroughly enjoyed the Dragonlance Saga primarily because of Raistlin. I just love extremely intelligent but otherwise unremarkable adventurers being able to manipulate forces that can literally shake the foundations of reality. Plus, I don't want to worship anyone to be powerful.
Being Evil takes effort.
Being a Lawful Stupid Paladin is too easy.
but i also want to avoid the theme of me being the brute that smashes everything in it's way,if possible i want my char to have some abilities(non physical i mean) for use against tougher enemies
in bg it would be fighter/mage using spells if greatly outnumbered or vs bosses/casters
I'm quite surprised this class don't get much love.
You can sing (also with a harp), you can charm other people with spells, you can PP them, you can fry some enemies with a fireball, you can kill Sarevok with one single spell (Chromatic orb), you can use any weapon you like, use any wand available, identify any item without problems.
Playing as a Jester is a very interesting experience, unmatched really. You can walk invisible through hordes of enemies and confuse them, after that watch them falling because of your party's fire.
Playing as a Blade is also pure pleasure, forcing you to micro-management (the thing I like so much). His Spins just shine in any battle.
Also, I'm kinda suprised that the Mage/Sorcerer classes are in the lead. Well, that much of a lead, anyway. Maybe I shouldn't be?
I do also like 4th edition Swordmage
x10 if you solo and have a Ferret fam.
Clerics for Healing, Command, Silence, Hold Person, Animate Dead, Protection from Evil 10', Chaotic Commands, Raise Dead, Aerial Servants, and lots of other goodies that mages don't get.
Druids for Call Lightning, Insect Plague, Summon Fire Elemental, and the kits.
Mages for, well, everything. What's not to like? Nuking, crowd control, and anti-mage spells against other mages. A vital member of every team.
Skalds for the song bonuses. I love to stay invisible through the whole game and let my friends handle everything, because I'm a poet, a musician, and a lover, not a fighter. Plus, I'm into a little bit of everything. If needed, I can briefly turn visible, wave a wand, or toss in a Fireball or a Haste to help out the party mage. And, you get the best stronghold in Amn. Who wouldn't want to bring a little pleasure and civilization into a scary, violent world by sponsoring a theater?
Paladins because I like being a knight protector, and a defender of justice and good. I usually choose the inquisitor kit, because free True Sight and Dispel Magic at twice your level are just awesome powers. The wicked necromancer casts Mirror Image, Stoneskin, Minor Globe of Invulnerability, Improved Invisibility, and Mislead? No problem (waves hand in the air) - POOF. Now he's just a frail old man standing there in a bathrobe.
