I pre-ordered since I am one of the beta testers and I know that that BG2:EE rocks.

Oooh, I never wished to be a beta tester before, but now, I wish to be in your shoes.

Because you wrote that the new patch is out middle September I checked back again. I was not surprised that the patch is not out. Just what I expected from you after 1 year after release. The joke is: I read that the BG:EE 2 is out soon. LOL.
After one year the game has still more bugs as the vanilla edition had, and you leave us behind with this fail edition and start a new one. I wonder if the first game will be ever corrected. Why should we buy the 2nd one? Buying this game was my worst choice since Diablo3.

Oh ye of little faith. The patch will come soon enough, if you will be patient, and Android will come soon after, and I believe BG2EE will release as scheduled, and if there is a delay, it will be to deliver a more polished, more excellent game, so all will be well worth the wait.

Sorry, but I can't believe them anymore. What I see now is that:
    - they removed the movies, which were way better as the new static ones are. after a year they only removed the advertisement about "all movies were replaced".
    - the vanilla version had fewer bugs as the new edition has now, after 1 year
    - the game become much easier, monster spawns are still messed up
    - the new NPCs are much stronger as the originals were, Baeloth and Dorn is a shame, they have no place in BG1, too strong for the first part of the game. They placed two of the new NPCs in your way so that you can't miss them, even if you try, and you have to fight against their enemies, even if you don't want to.

I feel sorry for everyone who bought this edition, and feel bad for the new customers who will find the new edition an open beta edition with throngs of bugs, with OP NPCs, and so on as it is with the BG:EE until now.

I just know , I can play Baldur's gate in my Android phone / iPad now and this game will be better and better after more and more patch polish it , even it may can't meet all of fans requirement , but if there is no this project , how can we see Zoom in / out function and other new features , and it looks upcoming patch will give us quite cool UI , I think those things are worth me to pay some money to support this project

i think this guy is tripin balls. if you dont like the npc's dont use em. the unavoidable occurrence with the 2 npcs... arent hard or anything... just get through it and enjoy the 99.999% of the game. and the overall game might be easier, but with new classes, kits and npcs. that just means more play-throughs for me. plus you can always turn up the difficulty. kiddo.

    1. Do you have some specifics to back that up? Or did you forget how buggy BG was?
    2. BG1 and BG2 run on the same engine. The only difference between BG1EE and BG2EE is the plot. So, all the events, dialogue, characters, maps, items, etc. Everything else is the same and it is this part with the majority of the remaining bugs. So, when they fix the problem in this part, it's fixed for BOTH games. Please read a book on software development before you make assumptions about the development team priorities.

Seriously, why can't people understand this? It's not that difficult to guess, and it's been said on this forum at least 20 times.

Really? I haven't had my account comprimised yet by a huge security exploit and then get told repeatedly by the Devs that it was because I gave out my password/information to some Nigerian Prince/Viagra advertisement from my junkmail folder.

Yep, as someone who works with the development of software and even games in the past, my internet common sense is clearly on par with a new internet user.

Seriously, if you're comparing this to Diablo 3, you have some serious issues lol

Blizzard STILL has yet to own up to their mistake (millions of accounts compromised by this glitch) and continues to accuse their player base of being stupid enough to let it happen.

The funniest thing is that, honestly, a lot of game developpers would LOVE to sell (Or even simply produce) games as good as Diablo 3, even if it's considered pretty bad for "Blizzard's standards".

Look ye how far the gaming industry hath fallen.

I would say it is rather that most game developers would love to produce a game that could garner as much popularity, and as much hype as Diablo 3.

The quality of Diablo 3 was irrelevant to its sales. It sold off the cult status created by Diablo, and Diablo 2. There was a loyal community, with a wider arc of casual gamers who had long since parted ways with the series, who were always going to get on board for a third installment if it ever materialized. That manifested as pre-orders and first week sales, the greater majority of which came from those who had not experienced a beta, or a demo.

I pre-ordered without a moments hesitation, nor a second thought. It was Diablo 3 and that was all that mattered. It was disappointing to find out that Diablo 3 was not being created by the same team who had developed Diablo 2, but that in no way shape or form was going to change my need to experience the next installment. The same cannot be said for what may follow Diablo 3.

I am glad to see this happen, especially after the scare we had a few months ago.
I hope we get a few more new NPCs, besides the ones we already have. Or maybe some extra quests/items/weapons. It might be nice to build your own stronghold, as well.:)

I second wanting some new areas with quests and especially a new stronghold with the depth of the d'arnise keep. Building it up was and still is biggest highlight of the game aside from the main story

Uh, can Neera's yellow-green laser beam be an actual spell, please? It looks cool.

After some major disappointments with preordering videogames from other companies (EA & Blizzard I'm looking at you) I had promised myself never to preorder video games ever again....
Damn you Beamdog for making me break my promise!

Now.... SIT DOWN, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

I can't see the price in dollars. Do they have a discount? Because that's just not right. :-(

I'm guessing beamdog still isn't in charge of the steam sales and get less/no money from them?

I'm glad that I bought from Beamdog directly and not from Steam. 31.17 USD (22.99 EUR) is an expensive european price. (still 24.99 USD for americans)

I was honestly one of those mistaken enough to buy it from steam.. because it was easier being that I already had a steam account.. I regret giving them my money..

But for a little FYI steam is doing outrageous sales on the game, probably because of steam users getting less accessibility then beamdog users. I've seen on steam news it on sale for 50% off for about a week out of every month for the past almost-year, the most recent sale just ended (yes I did wait to say something until now so you wouldn't fall for their trickery) that was a 75% off ($5.00).

Just goes to show, you pay the price for doing things the easier and cheaper way instead of the harder more expensive way.
