I seriously cannot like this announcement enough.

I'm not sure if I want to donate at $25 for the game or $50 for the beta access. (Seems to be a thing in crowdfunded games nowadays.) *-) I believe I read the game will retail at $40... but we all know it will go on sale after a few months. n.n

The real question (other than if you have the money to spare, which I assume you do or you wouldn't be considering the $50 price point) is how much you want to contribute to the development of said game. Contributing at the $50 price point will get the game closer to their goal (assuming that is not a foregone conclusion) and will allow you to contribute in some small way by participating in such things as balance reports and bug issues. It's really up to you.

LOL. Should have known considering your name.

I do agree that a game like that, multi-player would be awesome, even essential. What would the point of a turn based mech game without the ability to build your own constructions and pit them against other players? In either case, sounds like you have your answer.

I played one of the Mech Commander games, but it wasn't my type of game. It was fun and all, but not as much my thing. Still, I hope the greatest success for this game.

As I am self proclaimed one of the worst spellers in existence, I don't often get bothered by such things. But I can see (conceptually) that could be very distracting indeed.

Yeah, I do actually like turn based much better than real time. I almost didn't buy the original BG for that simple reason. And I still think that ToEE is a much better interpretation of the whole turn based tactical combat. But that's me.

As a flip to that, I actually like Sins of a Solar Empire more than Galactic Civilizations. Well on some days I do. So I guess I an a conundrum wrapped in an enigma surrounded by a question mark?

$25 here too. I think you and I have backed all of the Harebrained Kickstarters so far...

I think KS take 5%, fairly sure Paypal take around the same too.

Unfortunately my PC can't handle this game, it's a shame because I was really looking forward to it.
I wish them all the best though, I imagine it's a great game. They did a very good job with Shadowrun.

    There's a new trailer up. :)

Here's the most updated list of mechs I could find. BUT! Because of a lawsuit (some of the mechs originated from trademarks or copyrights of a Japanese company), I heard that some of the mechs were pulled. If anyone finds an updated list, post it! :)

    LIGHT
    Locust
    Commando
    Spider
    Firestarter
    Jenner
    Panther
    Urbanmech
    Raven

    MEDIUM
    Cicada
    Blackjack
    Vindicator
    Centurion
    Enforcer
    Hunchback
    Trebuchet
    Griffin
    Kintaro
    Shadowhawk
    Wolverine

    HEAVY
    Dragon
    Quickdraw
    Catapult
    JagerMech
    Thunderbolt
    Grasshopper
    Orion
    Marauder
    Warhammer
    Cataphract

    ASSAULT
    Awesome
    Victor
    Zeus
    BattleMaster
    Stalker
    Highlander
    Banshee
    King Crab
    Atlas

Yes, the Shadowhawk, Griffin, Goliath and Thunderbolt are based on Dougram, Roundfacer, Crab Gunner and Hasty from the anime Fang of the Sun Dougram. I think some Battlemechs are based also on Macross.

Still, It sucks that the game is set shortly before the Clans Invasion since It means there won't be any Omnimechs.

I had to log into my Paradox account in the game itself to unlock the skins.

I didn't have to log into Paradox's site as well.

I saw a review on GOG saying that the skins are removed if you log out, but I haven't seen anyone else say this so that's all I know.

Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner.
