Well, the series is based around the Skywalkers so... Regardless, its not so much that only a Skywalker can save the galaxy, it is more so that the Skywalkers are the most powerful force wielders in the galaxy. Their family line is so important because for example, Anakin was never born to a mother and father, he only ever had 1 biological parent.
My point is the movie sets out to prove that, by having alternative options tried and failing.

My personal belief is that Luke will (have gone) off the rails after "Jedi" and will disappear for a while. Not that he will 'Go dark', but that is what everyone will assume. I also suspect that the girl will end up being a 'Love child' of Han and Leia (and thus have the Skywalker DNA) and that during the first movie, Luke will encounter and attempt to mentor her. As to if THAT is Kylo Ren or not? It's anyone's guess. Who knows, maybe there will be twins, separated at birth???

But I do know that Luke is only in two scenes. One is a flashback and we see a bit of it in the trailer, the other was filmed on Skelleg Michael and has no dialogue.
You are right that Rey is a Skywalker, but pretty much the whole film is about Rey refusing to be a jedi, until the end of course. Han is the mentor-figure in this movie.

Tommorow, I'll have to cross 40 kilometres just to see the movie. I saw that in America some people got a tent in front of the cinema a week earlier. I really like that this movie one was not directed by George Lucas.

I swear, you're literally the first only person I've seen that hates this movie. With the obvious acception of the group that hated the movie before it even came out, because they made the main character a non Caucasian male.
Every theater in town is playing this 24 hours a day right now. I remember skipping track practice in '99 to sit in line for Phantom Menace tickets, and hauling a crappy old couch from my friend's garage a few blocks to sit in line for Attack of the Clones. And by all accounts this movie appears to be drastically superior to those films, and yet I'm still on the fence if I'm even going to go this weekend. Going to the 3D release of The Phantom Menace (my GF at the time was a huge Star Wars fan) really soured my taste on the whole series. I did not remember it being that awful. When I was 16, I went to it in the theater 4 times. I could barely make it through the one showing in 3D. Even the girl I was dating (who had NOTHING bad to say about anything Star Wars related AT ALL) didn't like it. But I definitely liked what Abrams did with his Star Trek movies (essentially to make them more like Star Wars) and I can't imagine this isn't at least a couple hours of rousing entertainment.
On a side note, I was watching the fight from A New Hope between Vader and Obi-Wan. Aside from being almost cringe-worthy to look at, I noticed for the first time that Obi-Wan calls him "Darth" as if that's his first name instead of a title given to Sith Lords. Because when those movies were made, that WAS the case. I wonder when Lucas decided to ret-con that into the series, and to tie it in to the new movie, why they went away from the title for Kylo Ren.

On Carrie Fisher: wot?! Leia was hawt in 1977 and she looks great now. She looks like grandma because, you know, she was started this in 19 and seventy seven. And she keeps going off script in the interviews. May I age as well as Carrie Fisher has.
Now on Rey, sure, let's talk looks.
[spoiler] Wow what a fresh faced beauty and, of course, I enjoyed watching someone someone so pleasant to watch. And yetI found her model-beautiful looks a bit distracting. I mean she's living a hard scrabble life on a desert planet but she looks like she just emerged from a spa. Couldn't the makeup artists give her a realistic sunburn? Peeling skin? And the woman who only has one outfit must spend *hours* on that eye make up -- every time they did a close up of her perfect makeup it took me away from believing that she lived most of her life as a scavenger. The actor did a nice job but her make up people need to learn something from the people who did Furiosa's costume.
But hey, nice character development -- when she found a way to disable the imperial base, I believed it.
Action scenes were great. The tech looked right. (I mean why the *$#! did Lucas make all the tech in the prequels look so different from what we saw in the first movie?) The main villain was believable . The second imperial officers reminded me of a national socialist -- just like they were supposed to do. I was upset when the big bad weapon fired and almost believed that it would fire again. And the music? Perfect. It was a good movie.
Sure it wasn't perfect. Having r2d2 wake up at the end? clunk. Why were the heroes so good at sword fighting? Luke needed to be trained, why didn't Fin and Rey? We really needed someone wise in the ways of the force to explain this to the audience. And where was the eastern philosophy? We really needed a Ben Kenobi figure.[/spoiler}

you see some people are getting old with some grace, Han Solo looked believable, but Kerry fisher just... I felt awkward.
When han hugged her at some scene you could feel he is repulsed by her in some way. In that very dramatic emotional moment I thought he'll kiss her but he hugs her like she's his mom or something.
but in order to understand my opinion you need to know where I come from. I played SWTOR since 2012 and I was big fan but bioware constantly ruins the game and monetize it.
when I learned there will be episode 7 I set my expectations high and I got the same vibe SWTOR gave me. they just recycled episode 4.

the character itself, the way he speaks, the reason for the actions he takes and the overall behavior makes no sense and does not fit the movie.
it's like you take the usual "funny" guy from action movie and toss him into star wars.
Yes, there are elements of previous movies in this movie but that isn't the first time such a thing has happened; I wouldn't worry about it.
