    @Hipster According to my research, Vanilla (which is our forum service provider) doesn't support animated avatars at all. Animated avatars only work because we discovered this tiny loophole. This means that there is nothing we really can do to make this feature more accessible to users even if we wanted to. I am not familiar with them, but you could try using Twitter or Facebook for this trick as well. I have no idea if that would work however...
