I'm a little saddened by this. Is there any plan to import the kit from Icewind Dale?
I'm hoping to make a "Icewind Dale" party for Black Pits using all our favorite NPCS (Hjollder, Arundel, Hrothgar, etc.) and need to make an Everard character.
@booinyoureyes Did you know there's an open beta for the 2.5 patch now? Priest of Tempus has been one of the popular demands during it, we have certainly noticed it. I can't promise anything but this request is known to the developers.
Branwen doesn't really need the kit, but OK It might make her a more favourable option to Yeslick though.
With the kit she is over powerful: she can cast Holy Power from the begin with Draw Upon Holy Might (14 damage wielding Ashideena) and before that to cast Sanctuary/Chant/Chaos of battle in order to DEBUFF.
I mean, she's a Priest of Tempus. That's what she's always been, even before the kit existed.
Most of the NPC's in BG1 don't have kits, so pretty much any NPC who gets a kit has a severe leg up on the competition, but that was already kind of inherent in porting kits to BG1 in the first place. A lot of them have abilities that simply were never present in vanilla BG1.
Yes, I get the feeling that giving her the kit is overdoing it, personally
she is a priest of tempus, so how can it be overdoing it?
also @CamDawg give Kivan the Archer kit. consider making Eldoth a Jester (two mostly lame pureclass bards is lame, and Eldoth would fit the part: "It would seem that his skill in music is mirrored with his talent in the manipulation of others' emotions. ... manipulative dilettante") ... Faldorn an Avenger ("Her ongoing mission is to use any means available to stop the despoiling of nature, no matter the risk or the cost to her life or any other's.") and creating a kit for Viconia
Had we not done so, the first post-patch thread would be "why isn't Branwen kitted?". And sorry, there are no plans to kit any of the NPCs with existing kits. I could see Viconia* if we made a Shar kit but, again, no plan at present.

Exactly. It would be strange, wouldn't it, if there was a shiny new kit in BG1 and an NPC who should be this kit according to her biography and an in-game dialogue didn't have it?

And when such strangeness happens, the cause of it often involves lawyers.
or you could install the Faiths and Powers mod, which has a nice Priest of Shar kit - or you could EEkeeper Viconia into a druid and apply the Shadow Mystic kit from the same mod. Both kits limit you to light armour and a variety of weapons, but grant you increased spell power and special abilities. Both kits are quite appropriate for Viconia, I think.
you could simulate a shar kit by giving viconia a special ability and a special spell or two
If you look at cleric kits, that's pretty much exactly what they are. One ability every five levels, a second ability every 10 levels, then you just need some art for the holy symbol and some text.

What kind of abilities do you think a Priest of Shar would have? Asking the group as a whole here. No pressure for any staff members to speak up if that's a problem for them.
The Dark Moon Monks are granted access to limited arcane magic through her Shadow Weave. So that could be a direction to go in. I think I'd personally prefer it if at least one of the abilities was unique to the kit though.
I never understood why people always suggest this. Given his backstory and seeking vengeance, I think Stalker is a much better fit.
Cuz... he's got a bow?
More seriously, there's nothing in the Stalker description about being driven by revenge. They are described as "intelligence-gatherers". I'd like to have seen Beamdog add the Justifier kit from BG2UB. That would be a cool kit for Kivan.
Justifiers are required to be Lawful Good so it wouldn’t fit Kivan.
I don’t like the idea of Archer Kivan because it forces him into the role of a ranged specialist. Those who want to use him as a dual-wielder or tank won’t enjoy such a change.

* Because if there's one thing we can agree on, it's that Viconia is way underpowered.
DO IT BEAMDAWG!!!1
