@Shandyr I have the same behavior in the current 1.0.2010 Windows version, The only way to finish the quest is saying you had enough as you can't move to kill anything in that area.
Happens to me too since 1.0.2010 but never used too. Pisses me off even more because the patch notes for 1.0.2010 says they fixed it...
Week two: Group in Gatekeeper's tutorial still won't attack, same with my main character. Looking forward to this getting fixed so I can venture on outside of Candlekeep.
You absolutely lose nothing if you don't go to the training house
I have had this problem as well. I have only experience it since the latest update, before that it was working perfectly. It really freaked me out, I thought my game was broken. Luckily it was just in this training section it happens in.
Since thieves can invest in detect illusion now I wonder if it is possible to dispel these creatures.
I have finally got tired of waiting for android so bought on my pc. However, this is unplayable i click to walk it cuts out after about 3-5 steps. and attacking doesn't exist character walks over to attack then just becomes a statue and if i do get him to attack it's a one hit then gives up
Has anyone else had this problem if so can it be fixed?
OK. I figured out the cheats now. It appears I was wrong. It is not the gibberlings that are causing the problem. By experimenting with control-y I found out that Osprey (one of the people Obe gives you for your party) IS the problem. As soon as I control-y her things go back to normal and the party has no trouble carrying out orders. For now just control-y her until a fix comes out if you want to use this tutorial.
I can confirm as well that killing Osprey resolves the problem, for whatever reason.
Well, scratch what I just said above, because I just tried the training session again, and this time killing Osprey did NOT resolve the problem. Back to the drawing board!
I can also confirm simply dropping the wand of heavens solves the problem...
On a completely different note.
- should the thief Dedar be able to open the locks in the room... Earning a handy 20xp. - swallowing the potion of speed before leaving the room of illusions gives your character a handy haste effect... Leaving candle keep never happened so quick...

Now that we get XP for opening locks, you'd lose out on 20 XP for the 2 locked chests in there.

However, there is still also the problem of Obe overzealously harassing you during the session, which remains even after you kill Osprey: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/12724/obe-keeps-harassing-me-in-warehouse
