They Can't Romance Each Other, But You Wish they Could

Okay, so I shamelessly nicked this idea from a previous post - and there's no poll - but I wondered which NPCs you'd pair if they had a romance path... Aerie and Haer'Dalis, Jaheira/ Khalid and Skie/Eldoth are the only official NPC pairings ((if you ignore the Ajantis/Branwen flirtations) but I think that Aerie and Valygar would make a very interesting (and cute) pairing. From the dialogues it's clear that Val quite likes Aerie and I think she's the perfect person to help him get over his fear of magic. And aside from the PC romance I think Ano and Nalia would make a good - if hugely annoying - pair but which NPCs would you ship? - I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned previously but I couldn't find the thread so if there is one please feel free to merge.

    I have a soft spot for Korgan and Mazzy - he may be crass about it, but he's clearly got a bit of a crush on her.

    Valygar liked Aerie too? I did have both in my party for a while (Planar Shere), he didn't say anything of the like. I didn't realise Charname had so much competition for Aerie lol.

    In BG 1 I kinda wished Dynaheir 'rewarded' Minsc for his loyal and fanatical service. Then I realised Imoen and Charname would end up travelling with 2 couples, which seems a bit awkward...

    Really? I currently have them in my party to do the sphere, though I think I'm going to get Jaheira back once we're done because I need her priest spells, he seems quite enamored and a little gutted that one as sweet as her can be involved in magic. The dialogue's really cute, he talks about how his mother never experienced the real world because she was too busy studying magic and Aerie counters by telling him how it gave her freedom to dream - through Quayle - and healed her wounds.

    Korgan and Mazzy could have been an awesome (if combatitive) pairing.

    Imoen and Keldorn's relationship (NOT romantic) always struck me as very sweet and could use some extra filling. Especially because Imoen could really use some more support structure than just Charname.

    I guess maybe Valygar didn't say anything cos Charname was already 'involved' with Aerie... although at this stage Charname hadn't even openly admitted to liking Aerie.

    The only thing I've seen that might be interpreted as inter-party flirtation is when Yoshimo kinda hit on Nalia.

    I always think that Kivan and Viconia sound like they are eventually going to stop bitching and rip each other's clothes off ... and then really regret it in the morning.

    But the one I would really like to see is Xan and Shar-Teel ...

    lol at times in my playthrough, I was seriously scared that Jaheira might kill Aerie, like she did Xzar and Montaron in my BG 1 playthrough.

    Imoen and Nalia would make a nice couple, and entirely plausible. I think there's a popular portrait of Imoen as Willow from Buffy the Vamp Slayer, and of course, Willow was a witch with a thing for girls...

    @Aedan Although Branwen will have to be a little more forward with her intentions, as "flattery gets you nowhere" with Shar-Teel ^.~

    Tiax and Quayle would be a spectacle to behold.

    Shar-Teel is quite the man hater so she isn't going to romance anyone else. And Viconia, coming from Drow society, probably has seen and done it all. I'd bet she would appreciate a mate that was worthy of her.

    Other than that, I could definitely see Jan Jensen being interested in the unattainable Aerie. Or likewise I could see him pining after Mazzy only to be rebuffed.

    I don't care who gets with who in my company, as long as they dunnae do it in me face.

    Also, anyone that dares to lay a hand on me sweet Mazzy gets me axe in their skull!

    Seriously though, now that the Devs are workin on BG 2 EE again... PLEASE ADD ROMANCE OPTIONS FOR SHORTIES! I almost always play as a Dwarf, and it sucks that I miss out on the entire romance part of the game. At least make shorty-shorty romances possible.

    Edwin being the creepy, manipulative Nice Guy and Viconia shutting him down.

    Minsc and Safana. Because of that one remark about footrubs.

    Garrick and Skie.

    Uhh, Ajantis and....Imoen, maybe?

    After playing BG1 4647886970808 times, I had Alora and Edwin in the party together. She was nice to him, and he, somewhat startled, was nice back.

    I think Eddie likes shorties....

    Imoen and Aerie would be a sweet couple.

    Jaheira and Minsc would also be a good pairing. She could dominate him as much as she wanted, and he would be just as happy, so long as she'd allow him to kick the buttocks of evil!

    Cernd, on the other hand, is already married to his precious "nature", with which no woman can compete. Or even his own child.

    AUGH GODS I FEEL STUPID FOR THIS ONE but...Osprey and Ajantis? :S? You know, Osprey, the half-elven Cleric/Magic-User in Obe the Illusionist's tutorials?
