@Quickblade Yes it's part of SOD. If you start with BG1 and go into SOD, you will lose all your gold after the 1st dungeon. It doesn't matter if you had 1 gold of 100,000 gold it all goes away and there is a Sub-Plot about it that I will not spoil.
In my case, I had 95,000 gold, and was so angry when It was all gone. The subplot makes up for it though.
@Artemius_I I tried Legacy of Bhaal to see what would happen (as a reference I've never ventured into territory harder than Hard and don't play on higher than Core Rules) and I was killed by Shank.
Actually that's not me, I rather enjoy going on a bit of a power trip in ToB after the hell that is my heavily-tactically-modded SoA game, but I'm sure this applies for a lot of people.
