@Excalibur_2102 I would say you're missing something by not playing Fallout 3. I have to disagree w/ Lorfean, I liked the main plot better than FNV and I think the companion's are more fully developed than in FNV. Additionally, I felt that the Vault Dweller PC evoked a bit of that nostalgia for the old Fallouts that the Courier character from FNV just did not. Several of the Fallout 3 DLC's are quite good too. The GOTY edition is always on sale on Steam too.
I have been playing Orcs Must Die 2 and piddling around w/ the new Team Fortress content Valve released the other day. Not very RPGey I know.
The Witcher 2. While not as RPGish as Fallout or Elderscrolls or BG, I enjoy the fallback to classic adventuring games. While you only have one character that you can't really change to play, the gameplay and the adult themes in are quite nice.
...snip... gameplay and the adult themes in are quite nice.
And by "Adult Themes" he means Boooobies. Not that I mind Boobies per se, but rarely do I find the "Adult" part of the Adult themes all that adult (aka mature) Though I do love da boobies
Not even the boobs. Video game boobs are just video game boobs.
The storyline base, the actions that you do and how people respond. How the elves and the kingdoms are. Like no real action that you can do has any real sense of good to it, just some shade of grey.
@Smaug well at the mo im enjoying NV alot and to me it feels like the old games (it is made by alot of the original fallout team after all).
My reservation with FO3 is that ive played 2 beth games and didnt really like either. Oblivion, while having a nice world in general, seemed empty and rather bland. Couldnt stand the level scaling system or the conversation wheel thing. In my opinion it was actually the most overhyped game ive ever played
Skyrim did improve on the world and deffinately the atmosphere, and it did do away with the conversation wheel so it was an improvement imo. But when it came down to it, other than the pretty world there just wasnt alot to keep me playing. I just didnt find the quests or characters interesting enough.
@Excalibur_2102 I felt the same way you do about Oblivion, I got bored w/ it, I felt it was easy, the UI was console-centric, and I didn't find it all that enjoyable. I had similar feelings toward Morrowind, and I didnt buy Skyrim as a result. However, I didn't feel that way about FO3. Maybe it was just the chance to play in the FO universe again, but I really enjoyed it.
Should have used a different UI if you didnt like the one in Oblivion and Fallout...there was one in particular, don't recall the name but I thought it was fantastic. Just remembered it was the DarNified UI Darn had a great time modding the UI's
Right now I'll be off to play some tf2 again. Need to find out what that MVM update is all about. Later, I'll probably try and finish off Thief 2, or I might reinstall Arcanum again.
M&B Warband, Nords win always . And sometimes Diablo 3.
I just completed my second play through. First time as a vassel of Nord, and yes, we won . Second time through, I carved out my own kingdom, just finished taking over. Now I've switched to BG, all of this forum talk about the game got me excited again and I couldn't wait for BGEE.
@Smaug It wasn't easy, but I managed finally to get into a server, with some pretty decent guys to play with too. Tried as heavy first, but it was the demo that really shined in that gamemode. Especially after you upgrade the sticky firing and reloading speeds. Constant carnage.
You could tell there was some trouble with people getting to play, when one guy offered me 2 refined metal if I left and let his friend join.
@Konabuga Haha, sweet bribe. I'm going to try again tonight. I usually play the Pyro, but I wasn't too thrilled w/ his upgrades from what I saw on the MvM promo page.
The game I play most right now is Avadon: The Black Fortress. Thinking of finish The Witcher, so I cound start up with The Witcher2. Now and then I play some MW3 (kill confirmed) with some friends and some times a little league of legends also.

I loved the Vault Dweller premise in Fallout3 and I enjoyed the game..I seemed to play it more than I ended up playing FalloutNV
