If you trip and fall on your arse, laugh and smile like you find it funny. It shows you don't take yourself too seriously and people who might have laughed at you can now laugh with you, giving you ownership of the situation/joke.
As a clumsy guy I probably do this every couple of months, and it works on just about any embarassing/funny physical mishap (as long as you're the only person affected - do not laugh if you accidentally knock yourself and someone else over!). Drop your icecream out of the cone? Laugh. Spill your coffee all over your trousers? Laugh. Trust me, it actually makes you feel better about the whole thing.

Are you kidding? Physical mishaps? You can do that with you whole life! :P
In the spirit of the title :P Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
I really like this one.
Interesting fact: it was originally coined by Alexander Pope, and he was referring to literary critics. That he did so in poetic verse sorta makes him my hero.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force.
Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounding yourself with assholes... You'll be surprised...

On a similar note;
Contrary to Jedi School, don't trust your feelings. When you think something's going to be shit, it might just be shit because you already decided it's going to be shit. If someone says something that pisses you off, it might not have to do with that person being an ass and more with you having a bad day already and overreacting. If someone you fancy is dismissive of you, it might not be because they hate your guts so you should go cry in a corner, they may just be having a bad day themselves.
Your brain lies to you. Do not trust the Truths it tells you.
While I appreciate the jokes, I feel like this thread could be a tiny bit more serious. It has such great potential for insightful discussion after all.
From personal experience, I can contribute the following:
- Relationships aren't meant to make us feel happy or fulfilled but to help us develop as human beings and accept universal laws such as the impermanence of all things. The moment you start expecting the relationship to give you something you haven't already got, things usually start going to hell. - Love is better thought a verb than a feeling. - Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In the choices we make in that space lies the key to our happiness.
Don't go to a metal concert in glasses. Ever. Even if previous umpteen attempts were succesful and there were no victims, the day comes for everyone.
Aaaand I made my poor glasses go through yet another concert. The patient lives. I guess my advice was sh*tty after all (or my time still hasn't come).
The worst mistakes in life that you make come from pulling in your horse as it is jumping (metaphorically). Also, when you get weird injuries, it's like you never knew how much a single area of your body can make all of it hurt! (I just fell and bruised my tailbone. It *really* hurts- I am surprised at how much.)

Il bet headnodding is out of the question on a metal concert, but i hope your glasses survived the process:)

"Knowledge is power."
Unless you're Littlefinger.
In which case, "POWER is power."
(Easily the most memorable line in Game of Thrones...for me, at least.)
Freedom can be taken, but never given.
War, what is it good for? *huh* Absolutely nothing.
Nah, just kidding.

You CHOOSE to be happy.
So why waste another minute sad, when you can spend the next 60 seconds in happiness?
...
To be truthful I do it for the pure angst ridden face of displeasure it produces as they roll their eyes at me...
*Happy sigh*
