"Those who break the rules are trash, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash! If I'm going to be called trash either way, I'd rather break the rules! And if that somehow makes me anything less than a real man, then I'll crush all of the so-called "real" men!"

" I'm no one… I don't want to be anyone. All I care about is completing my Plan. This world is completely worthless… there is nothing left in it but misery."
"You've seen reality, you should be able to understand… No wish can become true in this world. That's why I'm pursuing that dream. I want to build a world where heroes don't have to make pitiful excuses in front of graves."
"…There is no such thing as a victory in this world. Hope… is merely an illusion."

Other words of wisdom: "If you happen to know a girl named Rin, do not let her die." "Also, never friendzone an Uchiha"
"I’ve never said that in my life to her. I’m happily married. I have more than enough to eat at home, thank you very much.”

Question everything, and learn how little truly makes sense, or even matters. This is the burden of wisdom.
Pursuing goals to achieve happiness usually leads to suffering. Pursue contentment instead.
The purpose of life is to work to leave the world as improved as your potential allows, but know that most improvements are not noticed, or necessarily appreciated... the worst life you can live is one that creates banality or suffering.
Look at every occupation as ultimately equal, but always encourage others to achieve their potential.
Patience is one of the greatest tools intelligence grants us. Delayed gratification and tenacity are often well rewarded.
Accept defeat with dignity to maintain your honour and self respect.
Self respect is often worth more than the respect of others, while self knowledge is often worth more a library full of books.
When comparing yourself to others, remember your experience and potential are never identical to theirs. Take more pride in improving than is flaunting mastery.
Bemeausement is usually an appropriate response.
Think carefully over big decisions, and freely ponder ramifications of things in life from the standard of 'is this a realistic expectation?'. Worrying never helps, but neither do rash decisions.
Pain in life cannot be avoided, but suffering need not happen. Never allow another to harm your soul.
Never say the above line to anyone who is suffering, unless you're a bad person!
The only person you will ever truly have the opportunity to know and understand is yourself. Most will never know themselves, as it is easier to live in ignorance.
Freedom and rights in society are given by society. Never impinge the rights or freedoms of another lightly. Promote equality and peace whenever possible.

On the more serious side, my parents offered some of the best advice I've ever received: People believe what they want to believe and do want they want to do, so don't try to control them. The only person you can change is yourself. Some of my other favorites:
