Guys before we make any wishes how about we try this handle in the wall and see what is in the sarcophagus and the chests? Then if it all starts going wrong we can wish for the Efreet to save us.

    "The Boo abides."

"Yes, lets put the angry looking efreeti on hold. That sounds like a good idea."
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
Okay. How about we start by taking the lid off the sarcophagus? Aerie has already cast detect traps but I will look again just in case. Then I will tie a rope round the face or the foot and we can drag it off from a distance. That way if anything jumps out it won't be right on us.

The efreet motions with his hand. The ring in the wall pulls and turns, and a hidden hole/slide opens in the floor. "Go down that slide, turn immediately to the left and go through the wall. Use the keys on the holes in the floor, and you will find that which remains of Acererak."

He turns to Alora. "One service left."

"Why do we not just wish this Efreet to take us to the Lich that we might give him a good butt-kicking?"

No one say anything to the nice efreet. I think we're going to need a wish to get us out of here.

I think he just told us how to get there.

Okay. If Aerie can cast detect traps again we'll get her to do that. Otherwise I am going to detect traps myself as I follow the efreet's directions.

    @LadyRhian

OOC What were our two wishes? I thought we just wished to find the lich?
  • DelvarianDelvarian Member Posts: 1,232
Minsc looks like an overexcited puppy at the prospect of facing the Lich at last.

"Hurry friends let us finish this evil quest at last and have vengeance for our lost compatriots!"
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Okay, the slide drops you down about 15 feet, and you wind up in a corridor running north. Alora shortly finds a hidden door in the Southern wall. Otherwise, the corridor runs North for 20' before turning west.

Let us make haste slowly Minsc lest we fall on our faces before we get to smite stuff. Let me check for traps as we go. I will also fire my sling down the corridor. I'm still convinced I will find a gelatinous cube.

    No cube.

Can I see any holes in the floor that the keys would fit in?

Minsc forces himself to move slowly down the corridor, but his muscles are tensed and ready to spring into action at the sight of the lich.

"Very well I am ready, lead on small friend."

No, but you do find one in the secret door.

The Efreet smiles at Kivan. "I will always remember your kindness," he says. He turns into a flash of flame, shoots down the slide, and around the corner, and is gone.

Oh right. The Efreet said the holes in the floor are after we go through the wall.

So do either of our keys look like they will fit the keyhole in the secret door?
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Either one could fit. Which key would you like to try? The Golden first key, or the Bronze second key?

I don't suppose any of our mages or clerics has got a summons spell left?

  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
    No.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
Alora mutters to herself that magic users are always one spell short of being any use to anyone and puts the bronze key in the lock ...

    @LadyRhian

OOC I'm dead aren't I? I'm sure I can hear the sound of handfuls of D6s being rolled to see how much damage I took.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
    Doesn't work.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Okay, guys, gotta stop it here for a bit. Gotta lotta stuff to do, including make dinner. Be back at 9 PM EST.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
OOC I'll probably be asleep by the time you start again. But Alora will try the gold key next. If that doesn't work someone can have a go with the scepter but it won't be me. I don't want to end up naked outside with Shar-Teel.

OMG no one wished for ultimate cosmic power... I'm embarrased to be the dusty remains of a corpse that used to belong to this group.

I'm not too sure what we wished for. We only seemed to get one wish then he disappeared. I should have asked for the baby ducks while I had the chance.
  • Awong124Awong124 Member Posts: 2,642
"Yes, we could get some baby ducks. Then raise them and fatten them up and throw them in the fryer. Mmm mm mm... I could have myself some duck confit right now."
