What a tremendous thread. Let me know if more of your brave companions die off and you are in need of more adventurers with wanderlust. I would love to join in the fray.
His coin purse much lighter for the spending, Garrick decides that something evil must have befallen his companions. To think that, had he been present, he could have saved them the suffering! But, alas, there was no such saving to be had.
@minevese Yeah, having armor too good for the snake fangs to penetrate... And they were fast little buggers, and not excessively large, so they could worm (or snake) their way through the adventurers like mad. And how'd you like them poison? (-2 to saves).

When you wake up, those who have been bitten are moving like old, arthritic women until they stretch out their limbs a good bit. A sensation like pins and needles, only about 10x worse, persists for about 20 minutes after waking around the site of your bites, then finally fades.
@Bjjorick asked me to possibly run another dungeon after this one to show a "normal" dungeon, rather than a deathtrap one. I floated the possibility of S3, Expedition to the Barrier Peaks (another ultra Old Skool module, but much less deathtrappy) but the Haunted Halls of Eveningstar might make another good choice. It's for levels 1-3, though.

OOC: Snake meat is actually quite good. And Kivan doesn't have Neutralize Poison, only Slow Poison.
