I'm on a macbook air mid 2011 (13 inch). From the looks of things I don't have retina display. I'm also not hooked up to any external monitor (I'm just using my macbook's screen).
@Dee This is a minor thing and I'm not quite sure whether it's intentional or a bug, but I find it somewhat inconsistent that sorcerers get the green overlays on spell scrolls. To me, the green overlay says that I can learn a spell with the selected character, but as we know sorcerers cannot learn spells from spell scrolls.

A bug, but it will be addressed once we get to BGIIEE.
Since the last update to the beta it seem to be more difficult to leave each map (by clicking on the edge of an area) with a party of characters. I believe something has been changed recently that made it worse. Let me explain.
Expected behavior: when you click on the edge of an area, your party walks over to the point you clicked, and as long as they're not too far apart from each other, the travel map opens up as soon as the first character touches the edge of the area.
Perceived behavior: when you click on the edge of an area, your party walks over to the point you clicked, and as long as they're not too far apart from each other, the travel map only opens when your commanding character touches the edge of the area.
This little change makes the whole party frequently bunch up at the edge of areas, unable to move forward for several seconds before your commanding character finally finds their way over to the edge of the area.
Hey we like getting update no matter if it just a beta to test or a patchy patch, beside when the patch will be out @Dee will announce it in a new big shiny thread, you know that
@elminster Are you using a retina display? Also, are you in full screen or windowed mode, and do you have Scale UI turned on or off?
I get that problem as well on my MacBook Pro (non-retina 1680x1050). Only seem to get the problem with the settings: Full Screen, Scaled UI on, and sizes 115 and 130.
Will I be able to resume my savegame in beta once patch is released? I am tired of waiting... and would like to play over the weekend as my wife is away . yay

Yes, at this point the beta is what the patch will be in terms of content fixes; if you start a new game in the beta, when the patch is released you'll be able to continue it there with no problems.
The same is true for starting in 1.2, but if you have access to the beta and want to take advantage of the changes immediately you're safe to do just that.

Yes, no stuff related with saved games will be touched this patch.
Okay, in full-screen with UI Scaling on I get the issue too. We'll need to look into that. Let us know if you find anything else!
I try it as well on my laptop windows 7 sys in a full screen with UI Scaling on I get that issue as well but only at the default font size 130, with the others it doesn't happen and it doesn't happen in a window mode as well, not with any font size.
Issue 1: the text in the screenshots below is always displayed at a very small size regardless of the font size setting. It also spans outside of the left edge of the map, so the first few words are always cut off.
Issue 2: answers 6, 7, and 9 in the dialog window have a different indent value than the other answers. (I've only tested it up to 9 answers, additional answers might be misplaced as well.)
Playing through again on the Mac App store, which is an old beta, I have notice two missing items - the belt ogre no longer has Unshey's belt, and Joseph's ring is missing on the 3rd level of the Nashkel mines. I'm hoping these are long-since fixed, but reporting as regressions to 1.2 just in case.
@GreenWarlock I'm not sure how they were missing in that update, but they're there now; I make a point of picking those items up when I play through for testing.

A bit of a change it does happen in window mod but with the font size lower then 130 both sizes, not include 130, while the higher font sizes don't have this problem. When I remove the UI Scaling it solve the problem only for the 115 font size but not to the lowest one.
Again I ask, since I can't find a post where somebody answered my question. Is this and old problem, or a new problem the beta is having, or a Windows 8 problem. Because I have a Windows 7 computer, and this never happened to me.
It has to do with the new way fonts are handled in the combat log during dialogue; the speaker's name uses a different font than the body text, which messes with the margins a bit when the sizes don't match.
It shouldn't be too much of a headache to fix if it can be fixed, but we won't know more until the programmers get back into the office on Monday. So for now, be satisfied knowing that the issue's been reported, and if it can be fixed, it will be.
Well thanks for clearing that up I guess, I might wait to install the new patch until after I am done playing my current game. If it comes out before that.
The latest PATCH (to the beta) is already out (since Friday, work hours).
The RELEASE of VERSION 1.3 is still some time away, depending on how many beta testers concur that the 1.3 unique bugs (that weren't there in 1.2) are all squashed (again).
...but if you have access to the beta, you might as well DL and play with it. 1.3 functionality will be whatever the functionality of the latest patched beta is at the time of release. All major functions are stable NOW in the beta, with bug squashing going on for the occasional visual or audio glitch, some font issues (seems to be focused on for Apple devices).

Its fullscreen mode. Scaled UI is on.
...
Stay the hell away from my eyes!
We need KidCarnival in here.
Expect Behaviour : in game text is aligned ON THE RIGHT of the NPC name
My usual luck.
You made such a huge deal out of it, too! Just a beta update and everyone's all excited. Shame on you.
just quick question.

Issue 1 is probably because of the dynamic scaling of the text box.
Both definitely worth fixing.
