Fonts trouble may also be due to different interpretation of vertical metrics / bbox-sizing of the font. different values available in the fonts are interpreted by windows and osx to calculate this, if they are not set smart and very accurate in the font, this may add up to what we see (even quality fonts get this wrong often, so it might be the case here?).
Or how text is rendered in OSX differently than to Windows (respecting form over grid on osx and grid over form for windows when text is rasterized) – combined with scaling, this may also add up into a rounding error that shifts things around. this could be tested with font sizes of 114 or 116 to shift those limits and see what happens there (i have no beta access, so these are just hints).
Does somebody know what are changes between 1.3.2050 and 1.3.2052 ?
The Quick-Loot bar was added, along with a Font Size slider and the green tint overlay first seen in BGII:EE.
A memory leak was discovered and closed, and a problem with graphics flickering after a certain amount of playtime was also found and fixed.
Those are the major differences. We also renamed the "Back" button on the Multiplayer Join Game screen to "Logout", and fixed some functionality with the Escape key on the Credits and Multiplayer screens. No quest content has changed between 1.3.2050 and 1.3.2052.
I was going to say my journal was not getting updated with -troubles in the region and -a farmers tale entries... But my journal is updating again properly this latest beta. Did anyone else discover this?
You guys go out and squash those bugs. 1.3 can wait, 1.2 isn't that bad, and I can always play the original if I really wanted too.
Once again, the majority of complaints are not about BGEE, but about BG2EE. And SoA will not be patched until after this game. Having said that, I personally don't want the patch until the new bugs are squashed.
I selected the pensive young man portrait as the face of my CHARNAME, the same portrait that is usually used for Garrick. When I encountered Garrick, therefore, the engine defaulted to the "Abdel" portrait for Garrick - but only on his inventory & stats pages. The small portrait in the right side party roster is still the standard Garrick portrait, duplicating my CHARNAMEs portrait.
(originally erroneously posted in Feature Requests - had wrong forum open while playing.)
Is this new to 1.3, or can you also reproduce the problem in 1.2?
@Dee OK, I have now run a 1.2 game up to recruiting Garrick.
I have confirmed that the sidebar small portrait for Garrick is correct in 1.2 (i.e. it uses the Abdel portrait)
In 1.3, the game substitutes the Abdel portrait correctly on the inventory screen and the characteristics screen, but it continues to use the Garrick portrait (duplicating my selected CHARNAME portrait) on the sidebar.
Since the last update to the beta it seem to be more difficult to leave each map (by clicking on the edge of an area) with a party of characters. I believe something has been changed recently that made it worse. Let me explain.
Expected behavior: when you click on the edge of an area, your party walks over to the point you clicked, and as long as they're not too far apart from each other, the travel map opens up as soon as the first character touches the edge of the area.
Perceived behavior: when you click on the edge of an area, your party walks over to the point you clicked, and as long as they're not too far apart from each other, the travel map only opens when your commanding character touches the edge of the area.
This little change makes the whole party frequently bunch up at the edge of areas, unable to move forward for several seconds before your commanding character finally finds their way over to the edge of the area.
i had a similar but different issue with the newest beta, every time i moved my mouse to click on a new location and then it would boot me out of the map screen and do so atleast 10 times before i could successfully use the travel map. another slight bug i have noticed is in dialogue, the large button at the bottom has no text (but it still works when you click it or press enter to move dialogue onward) so its not a big issue, just cosmetic
I believe these are new for 1.3... Will check more thoroughly when I can... I think it has been mentioned before...
Stacking in Neera's Gem bag does not seem to work smoothly... I believe this is caused by the loot bar placing items in your inventory unstacked, and then when you place them in the bag unstacked, they stay unstacked. I hope that is clear...
Also the temple of helm seems to be running a business... Never seen a priest swear before... Errrm. Again this may have been mentioned happening in 1.2...
Didn't know Volo rated temples...
But those madmen... Well, that would be Brage that you told me about, you nut!

Yeah it happen when you pick with the quick loot bar and the normal way they aren't stuck together, but if you take them all out of the bag they will stuck properly, and then you can get them back into the bag again and it will be fine. Me and @Adul already mentioned those
@Etamin If those are new issues we can look at them, but at this point we're not adding anything to the patch that wasn't already there. We're focusing on issues that may have been introduced by the work we've done so far.

I'm not seeing this issue on my end; he's using the Abdel portrait on both screens. Are you going in this order? :
1. Start a new game, creating a character with the Garrick portrait 2. Either travel to Beregost (AR3300) or use C: CreateCreature("Garric") 3. Either speak to Garrick and complete his quest to get him to join the party, or use Ctrl-Q
That being said, it looks like both the roster portrait and the Record portrait are using the smallest version of Abdel's portrait, which means there's something else going on there.
Alright, keep an eye on it; if you can get a good test case we'll work on fixing it, but if we can't reproduce it on our end that makes it a bit more challenging.

Yes, I am using the playthrough sequence. The party is arriving in Beregost with CHAR, Imoen, M&I, J&K. Parking one pair at Kagain's, doing the Garrick quest, recruiting Garrick.
I am playing on a pretty vanilla set-up, 4-yr old Dell laptop, i7, Nvidia GeForce GT 555M, Windows 7, factory install, kept up to date. Nothing else running except AV in background, clock & weather gadget, and one open browser (to this page).
Will patch 1.3 do something with font look? Now it have still flaws in polish language Should be "ZABÓJCA MAGÓW". Also "WOJOWNIK" has smaller font.
Should be ""Pod Pomocną Dłonią""
@Etamin I should amend my earlier comment; yes, the issues you mentioned above are fixed. For some reason I thought you were reporting something new, but this patch will address them.
Any news this week on the bg 2 android beta or is it still all hands on deck for the 1.3 BGee across platforms patch? How are the 3 regressions coming?.... sorry for the bi weekly inquiries, I'm starved for gaming news. I'm going to out of town every week this month including vacation at the end of Sept for my burfday so I'm going to be spending a lot of time on my tablet this month...
BG2EE will be released on Android after the 1.3 patch, which will be released after 1.3 for BGEE. Sit tight, I guess.
I believe the word is BG2ee 1.3 and the android release will be side by side or close to eachother. They mentioned the idea of putting it out in beta form before that, which is what I was asking about... All coming after the 1.3 of bg1

Pictures to show what happens anyway.

@Cr4zyJ The weekend gave us four additional issues to look at, but we're fixing things almost as quickly as we find them.
Keep reporting stuff if you see any new issues, folks; things are looking pretty darn solid on this end.
