I would hate to live in FR though, with every other year being the apocalypse just so some Charname can be a hero. And there would always be the problem of these 6 dumbasses that think they can just waltz into my house and take my stuff with no reproductions.

Maybe you meant repercussions?
Unless maybe Aerie is in the party?
Apparently, my iPad know better than I do when I comes to what words I choose.
In my own imagination of the events after the series, my bhaalspawn takes up residence in the house just south of Beregost (after cleaning it up of course).
Come to think of it though... Watcher's Keep would be a nice place to live. Nice scenery, relatively private, and it would be a very safe place considering that no one could get in or out without my vigil stone.

Is this before or after you've dealt with Demogorgon? Talk about problem neighbours!
...well, it's not like he can do much, but it would still be weird to have a prince of evil living in your basement.

Never mind the Demogorgon; I'd be more concerned about the random spawns of devil shades, mutated spiders, vampiric wraiths, rogue golems, fire giants et cetera. Talk about one hell of a pest problem.

All nothing compared to the epic-level New York cockroach!
Location would depend on my financial situation, of course. :-) Would love to live in the prettiest part of the town, but as an adventurer, I think, I would be lucky to live in slums or dock district. :-D
Actually, benchmarking against the money charname makes, as a adventurer you would be able to live where you want. You get really rich, even in BG1.
At least if you are succesful. If not, you will likely not live anywhere.
That's true...It's very easy to become multimillionaire after a few quests in BG2. But...First week would be rough. :-) Female Charname would have sooo many opportunities how to make money in dock district. Hehehe...

Especially if they look like in your portrait
Haha, sorry, I thought I red whether I look like on my portrait. :-D Oh well, you can take it that that's my Ultimate Personal Charname. Sadly, it never reacts on quick save and quick load...Oh well, one can't have everything. ;-)
@Effiny, that's awesome! I hope to get a portrait done by Isandir, on the forums here. But he's got a long list of people waiting for his services.
BGEE party is needed then. :-D If I could get this pic on general Bioware party, you should get yours on BGEE party. :-)) Fingers crossed for getting your portrait from Isandir!
I picked beregost. Sadly there is not a single establishment in the city that sells Elminster's Choice beer. The closest is the Friendly Arm Inn. Still, its a small town that has a nice character to it.
So, we'll have 2 old wizards living on the same street. So that it will be something like: Ho there wanderer, so hard to find decent folk nowadays. Can you bring us The Making of a Mage so that we can remember the wonderful days of our youth?
Nothing beats Spellhold. Spacious, lavish interiors. Sea view with an unbeatable panorama of Nelanther Isles. A selection of sandy and rocky beaches (with and without lizardmen). Wards against alien mages teleporting into your living room already installed. A corrupted pirate settlement just next-door, eagerly awaiting taxation and offering all sorts of services and entertainment you could possibly require. Excellent logistics, with a major port full of hireable nautical vessels and an established portal connection with the Underdark. A massive underground dungeon facility, ready to be adapted for whatever purpose, with its original architect still at hand (technically a slain vampire but that is not that much of an issue). Renovation and redecoration practically cost-free by enslaving remaining Ust Natha workforce and salvaging the architecture. And, well, it's called Spellhold. Awesome.
The Sahuagins room? A Jacuzzi pool. The Solamnic knights room? D&D room. Mad Halflings rocky place? Indoor climbing room. Laboratory? Pfff... My personal bar, bartender avaible 24/7. Beholder's spot? Chillout music, a lot of pillows, shisha and belly dancers. (Note: remove the skulls first) Icy room? Ice skating + fridge + Ice Golem selling ice creams. Hot room? Solarium. And I could go on...

Thanks for the ideas. I intended to free the Ust Natha slaves as soon as they revamp my home but now I see they need to pimp my ride as well!

Nuff said.

(My Charname got eventually killed by a foolish wannabe-king adventurer)
Edit : Damn, but we don't see it in the game... Watcher's Keep, then.
I'd also like Gullykin, the little people seem real friendly there.
Don't you see the potential of that place?
