Why the heck don't they simply make it?
Come on in 2014 is soooo simple to build an isometric game.
At Obsidian they are making Project Eternity (the exact copy of BG3) with just 15 people......... And they invested nothing, not a penny, it has been fully financed by players on kickstarter!!!
I am tired to check this site every week to find nothing but silly posts about D&D rules etc.........
BTW where is the poll/petition named "I want BG3 and I want it ASAP" ? Would you at least please link it to me?

Seriously, I think that it's far from simple if ever possible to make a real BG3 that will stand in the line of BG1 and BG2.

The reactions I've seen so far makes me really proud to be part of this community.
Anyway I fully expect the thread title to be changed by the OP for a less misleading one or I'll close the thread.
Why would you do that to a little undead gnome? Why?
Sylvus_Moonbow - Attack Roll 20 : Hit
@gnappoman - Damage Taken (1)
@gnappoman - Death
The Party Has Gained Experience : 15
Edited for reference.
It still took more than 6 months to create even that, and that was with an engine that already existed in the same manner that I think the OP suspects would be for BG3.
In any type of game development like this, someone would need a broad reaching story with branches and with sub-plots. One would need excellent writing and voice acting. One would need new abilities/spells/classes/items/monsters etc... (if not all of that, at least some of it) or it is simply a mod of the existing, which would NOT be BG3. All of this takes time and resources to develop.
In short, 'Simple' doesn't enter into it. Nor does abbreviated timeline, without seriously sacrificing quality.
I think we all share the desire for BG3 (or well most of us do anyway). We would, however, want a game of quality and substance, not something slapped together in six months.
Also I want to underline to @gnappoman that @mlnevese, a moderator, asked you to edit the OP title, but since it was not edited (but it seems that your last activity was more than 5 hours ago) I will edit it myself and, for the reason said before, I close the topic.
