Um, why is the lady in the sane and sensible thread not wearing pants?
Ummm . because she's halfway through putting on her armour? Maybe not, as she's already got her boots on. I decided to allow bare thighs, because I thought if I chucked out pics with bare thighs I wouldn't have enough images ... that was before I found all these extra places to look. And since I've already included loads of pix with bare thighs I thought I'd just carry on.
The whole idea of this thread has shifted from realistic armor to non-softporn and believable (with a pinch of salt). I've changed the title because they aren't necessarily sensible as such ... plus magic and/or extremely high tech don't always seem sane.
So making allowances for the odd bit of magic like tech or just plain magic, and the rather silly demands and tropes that go with certain styles if it doesn't show boob, backs, bellies or buttocks it's in.
For much more realistic armour try having a look at this blog http://armordoneright.tumblr.com/ It's a bloody good blog, and it's a damn shame she seems to have stopped posting.
@meagloth keep bothering me ... please. Although you don't see it here, every so often I will agree, and remove a pic from my blog :P And it's good to know someone is really looking. I've seen so many images over the last month sometimes I kind of end up looking but not seeing.
I've just hunted down some images of Tali as she was new to me -- and yeah, I see exactly what you mean! I love art that doesn't stay in nice, neat little pigeonholes

Many thanks @LadyRhian These 8 are all brilliant their armour is especially good. I had links to explore later for half of these, but the other half were new to me! I've been searching through other sites, but I've left Deviant Art alone for now - I know you'll find the good ones for me and post them here or I'll find them on your Too Many Pics thread.
I've already got over 300 artists with names, nicknames and links to all their sites sorted, and another 70 odd where I've got the individual images sorted. Amazing what you can do when you can't sleep. Your posts and thread are a huge help - it means I can keep a good balance between CG and traditional art. Also their are more sci-fi pics women in OK armour on the CG sites and magazines than fantasy, and the same goes for the game art sites as well. Your help makes it easier for me to balance genres as well. It seems that almost all of the professional artists give the money people what they want - and what they want for fantasy women is boobs, bellies and butts and more boobs and BEWBS!
You're welcome! I love good armor, and my "Too Many Pictures" includes men and non-armored classes like Monks, mages, etc. I just don't want to take over this thread, that's why I only post a few pictures here. DeviantArt is a constant stream of pictures- not all of them are good, but I belong to some really excellent groups there (not all of which are art-related, like my animal pictures groups.)

@LadyRhian Oh I know what you mean. The sheer amount of heaving, semi-naked female flesh and pulchritude I have to wade through to get a couple of decent pics of lady warriors is just ... well to be honest it makes me feel insulted as a woman. We are people not goddam walking sex toys! And what upsets me the most is that the female artists are just as bad as the males *sigh*
