Hmmm... Instead of a role play, we should... Make a movie! Yeah, that'll work. @Elrandir can write and direct it, @LadyRhian can be the art director, Dee could be the producer, @CrevsDaak could manage finances(powergamer:P), I could be the producer, and we can all get costumes and make the best fantasy movie ever. TO HOLLYWOOD!
Actually, it probably would be the best fantasy movie ever. *shrugs and nods* I mean, what do we have challenging us? LotR and How to Train Your Dragon? Both good movies, but I think we'd win.
Alright... I'll chip in with a couple of paragraphs just for fun.

The smell of charred flesh filled the air.
Tan smiled grimly at the carnage that lay at his feet. Six assailants attacked him in the War Room at the King’s Castle, but none would leave the room alive. Three were burned to a crisp by a massive Fireball. Another died after being pelted by a score of sequenced Magic Missiles. Yet another tried to flee, but could not outrun the Disintegrate spell that blasted him into dust. Their leader survived in a fashion… as a statue after being turned to stone.
“After we get to the bottom of this, the king had better compensate me for making him a statue to decorate his castle grounds,” Tan mumbled softly to himself.
A quick search of the bodies yielded nothing of interest, but Tan’s brow furrowed as he mulled the implications of the attack. As one of the mages who lay the magical wards protecting the King’s Castle, he was among the first to sense that the wards were tampered with. Although he was on a secret reconnaissance trip that no one else knew about, he promptly teleported himself into the castle to investigate, then found himself attacked by the assailants whom he dispatched earlier.
If there was one party, there was sure to be more.
Tan bit his lips as the realization dawned on him:

Yep. Not really a story from me. Just an explanation as to where all the bodies go... Unless in your story you actually want me to succeed raising the dead, singing head, shoulders knees and toes....
I always wonder what happens to the bodies during films like Rambo, James Bond and Dirty Dancing... I reckon kebab meat. But I could be wrong.
@Elrandir, can Blackraven be stealthy? He's really more the scout/informer type than the bulky knight. He could be a negotiator as well, as he speaks various languages and is generally careful in his choice of words. Blackraven isn't too fond of arcane magic, preferring true steel over arcane trickery, but his power "of manipulating the essence of all that is", as you put it, could imply the possession of magical skills of a divine nature? Ah and I'm sure no one would mind if you imagined him as handsome.
@Blackraven Hahaha Sure! He'll still be a plate mail wearing knight, but I don't see why he couldn't be more of a fighter/thief type class. (Once again I'm using D&D terms to explain, despite this not being based on D&D... It's just such an easy method of explaining.)
As for the "magic", I'm more thinking of it as sort of a natural talent type of thing. I haven't really thought TOO deeply on it, but I'm kind of thinking almost like a druidic summoning type of thing. You can create living creatures out of most anything. Fire, trees, water, stone, even flesh! That sort of thing. But, as I said, you can only control them for a relatively short time before they return to normal or even disappear. (haven't decided which)
As for his appearance... *chuckles, thinking about it* I kind of think we're all attractive. XD Lady Rhian is an incredibly beautiful woman, Quartz is a sexy chunk of crystal, Metalloman is a ruggedly handsome human, and you've got that "quiet charm". I'm basically envisioning you as Teyl, only not a halfling. Short dark hair, a quiet demeanor, and that sideways smirk that makes all the ladies giggle. To be frank, I think the only one who "isn't" attractive is Bengoshi, but that's only because he never takes off his father's Kabuto. Almost no one knows what he looks like.
I don't really think this is at all accurate to the real LadyRhian, but when I think of Lady Rhian's character, I get a mental image of Tania Doberg, (a character in the manga/anime Witch Hunter) although Lady Rhian is wearing (logical) platemail and isn't nearly as manga-sexualized. Tania's an incredibly strong character (currently, like, top five in the series) and is pretty intimidating, which is kind of how I see Lady Rhian's character. Yup! Pretty accurate! I still imagine your character being a bit more of an ice queen, (no offense) but that's pretty accurate. Also, why do boob plates exist? (maybe this should go in the "Unrealistic Fantasy Armor" thread, but whatever) Like, who thought they were a good idea? I find them very strange...
You can imagine me as someone who seldom shows his face. If I'm written as a mage, I'm the sort who wears hooded robes or a mask. If I'm a warrior, I'm probably one of those who rarely takes off the helmet.
Yes, well, I wanted to resent you with a 100% unedited photograph, so you didn't have any suspicions of me, um... "Casting friends" with the photoshop :P
