The screenshot is from 1.2, just to quickly show the scenario. It will look more or less the same in 1.3, but the group will stay together instead of splitting apart when they get to the corner.
it's cool you guys are improving the path issue, it reminds me of icewind dale it is always a pain to go to the Inn in Kuldahar with half of the party members going mental on their way.
@CamDawg: Does the equipment you bring across from BG1 have any bearing on chosen item? We know that CharName kit used to transfer, with the old pause-and-drop-items exploit that was fixed - so I presume the info is available at the time of import/game-creation.
@CamDawg is the best-weapon-selection-list externalized (as a .2DA or .SQL or whatever) or is it not? I am planning to use it for one of my mods and it's impossible to edit the executable in the EEs.
It's all scripting. It'll check Player1 profs and pick an item based on the highest pips; if none match the available items it will use the best item that's usable by the class/kit.

Yes, it works just like the other two imported items (Ilyich's armor and the bookshelf item). It checks the inventory and uses the first match as the import. If nothing matches, then it picks an item from the list based on the best match to your proficiencies/class/kit.
I'm flying for 24 hours next Tuesday. I would really appreciate being able to play this on either device. Any chance at all of that, or will I have to pay attention to the small baby I am taking with me?

This is awesome. That used to be a real pain.
The version for MAC, will the engine be run using a dos wrapper, or are you compiling it to run natively on mac?
Also, How is the opensourcing of .net going to impact your future efforts on redoing older games on linux and mac? If at all?

Aaaw, DANGIT! Guess i'll have to take care of this baby instead. Bah.

@notking@Ancalagon44@kiryamo@Skjoldar@Bercon@pixie359@Schopenhauer@Messi please refrain from comentary in this thread, please refrain from asking for a release date in this thread, please refrain from requesting features in this thread, please read the original post (as referenced by bengoshi above). this thread is strictly for 2 way communication with the developers. Watering that down does yourself and the community a diservice by making it harder for devs to find questions to answer and to take this thread "seriously"(by serious i mean check it with regularity... not by being totally serious, that would be absurd and beyond inappropriate in this enviornment... looking at you andrew). It also makes it harder for people to find answers.
How long does it usually take for submissions to WotC to be approved? Are there a lot of story and dialog changes in this patch? do submissions have to be made everytime you patch?
No real story changes in this patch, just lots and lots and lots of bug fixes (an overwhelming number of which existed in the original game, oddly enough).
The turn-around for WotC submissions is generally pretty swift for us, although tomorrow's Thanksgiving so that will probably delay things just a little bit.
The release notes documentation for this update clocks in at thirty-seven pages, incidentally.
I'd like to mention here the last Trent Oster's answer from the AMA:
Hmmm, We don't include the original BGII paper dolls in any asset package, so they are not available in the game. We've made some changes so it might not work to copy them from vanilla BGII intothe override directory, but if might be worth a try. We don't have any plans to add them in as we at the limits in terms of file sizes on some of the platforms. We are porting back many of the IWD:EE code improvements and we will document them in the release notes when the BGII:EE Update is released,
Dee, I was wondering if you guys have fixed the issue with mobile platforms having the chitin.key and dialog.tlk files inaccessible? Here's a post about it:
I believe I read somewhere on these forums that you guys were going to try to fix this for all the games when the 1.3 patch rolls out for BG2EE. Any word on if this will make the patch? It makes almost any weidu mod not possible to install because most edit the dialog.tlk file and even when installed on a computer and transfered it will end up with invalid strings for anything the mods mess with on that file.
Will saves from 1.2 be completely compatible with 1.3? I mean will the none import related fixes still apply to the current saves or is a fresh start is the best way to get all fixes?
Sorry if this is the type of question that should not be asked in this thread.
@Luke93 As far as I know, bluetooth keyboards are still not supported for iOS. It's definitely on the list for future patches, though.
@JustLeft 1.2 saves will work with 1.3, but for any plot-related fix, if your save is already affected by the bug in question, the 1.3 patch won't fix it retroactively.
Would I be safe to assume that I should wait for this before importing my save from BG:EE in order to have continuity in regards to relationships formed with the new NPC's?
- Romances with Neera, Dorn, and Rasaad accounting for where you left off in BG:EE (as well as mod support for importing specific variables) Note: requires newly imported bg1 file/restart. (Yes)
So yes, you have to wait till patch 1.3 to get the continuity.

I assume it exports individual variables which haven't changed since BG:EE launch so it should work no matter what version of BG:EE you import the save from, correct?
