If you turn a dragon into a squirrel, you can stuff him in your inventory along with your familiar. And if you throw the squirrel at an enemy and cast Dispel Magic before it hits, the enemy will take 50d6+20 crushing damage from having a dragon plop on top of them.
You can also build up your Charname's resistance to fire, acid, and cold damage by repeatedly smacking them with the Flail of Ages.
Did you really know that if you take Baeloth through the all of the main plot areas, Balduran's Isle, Durlag's Tower and all of the other EE NPC quests, that he replaces Imoen in BG2?
It is an Easter egg where the sequel becomes about saving him, which in turn has a romance option for both genders.

BAELOTH-SENPAI NOTICE ME QQ /loves Baeloth.
Did you also know that if you take Alora through all of BG1 and have her kill the Thieves Guild Leader that she becomes the leader of the shadow thieves in BG2? She also becomes a romance option but a love triangle can form between Baeloth, Alora, and the PC if you do @Grum 's method above.
Edit: I should mention that in BG2 Alora's alignment changes to Chaotic Neutral from Chaotic Good.

The Baldur's Gate series was originally going to be titled The Adventures of the Candlekeep Stable Boy, but the developers wanted it to stand up well against it's competitors by making people immediately think 'totally awesome game.' So what they cleverly decided to do was name it after a completely unknown city that nobody would even know the game was named after. They also wanted to make sure that it didn't sound even remotely like an epic dungeons and dragons fantasy rpg.
If you charm Draconis, he will not only open the door to Abazigal's dungeon for you but also give you some useful hints on how to defeat Fil'Yissitat.
Of course once you exit from Abazigal's lair, he will still be around - and hostile!
If you kill Adalon and wear the Human Skin Armor +5, all dragons in ToB will be very impressed with your dragon killing skills and your wickedness in having slain a Silver Dragon.
If you bring the Golden Pantaloons, the Silver Pantaloons and the Bronze Pantalettes to Kerrick the Smith he will craft you a very powerful full plate mail which turns you into an Iron Golem.

There is a hack to get all the Icewind Dale spells in the game, it's been around since 2000 from a bug that was fixed with patch 26498 for ToB, but was overlooked in the EE. Here are the steps (you need an arcane caster and Minsc, and you have to be in the Copper Coronet):
1. Make a spell trigger with three Flesh to Stone spells. 2. Have a druid cast Goodberry (if no druid is around, cast Repulse Undead with a cleric) 3. Have your character eat all the Goodberries. 4. Position Minsc in front of the bar. 5. Make him go Berserk. 6. Cast Fireball, centered on Minsc. 7. Cast the Spell Trigger on your character. 8. Attack Minsc. 9. Stop when he is at 4 HP. 10. Go to his inventory. Boo can be used as a once-a-day item that unlocks all IWD spells for all classes. Enjoy!
If you wait on the Ice Island until the ides of Alturiak, it will get cold enough that you can walk on the ice. If you exit to the north, you get to Easthaven if you have IWD installed. Unfortunately, this easter egg isn't implemented in IWD, so you end up in the middle of Lac Dinneshere and can't move.
There's a workaround, though: If you're playing a sorcerer, IWD spells will become available as soon as you get to the Easthaven map. So if you wait to level up until you've reached Lac Dinneshere, you can take Dimension Door and use a few hops to reach the mainland. You'll have to leave your party behind.
You can also use Mordenkainen's Sword as a ranged weapon, as you would in IWD. To accomplish this, you need to summon the sword inside the cage with the moose in Waukeen's Promenade. The moose will then help you configure your remote sword control settings.

However, while he's in the group, the pc doesn't recover HP during rest.
Also, if you remove the curse, the ogre turns hostile and goes berserk.

We just don't know that we did...

Wait a minute.
Therefore, if you name your main BG character "Nameless One" he will be immortal.
I adore you.
