"I'm out of healing spells," Aerie answered as she dropped to her friends' aid. "Do we have anything to bind their wounds while I pray to have them restored?"
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
You bandage their wounds, and stop the bleeding. They stabilize at 0 hp.

OOC: wtf is with that one bush that keeps rolling criticals. We should uproot it and use it as a missile weapon or something.

"Perhaps we should simply burn the whole lot out," Edwin says. darkly. He steps forward to the door and casts 'Summon Undead'. The rest of you watch in amazement as skeleton after skeleton pulls itself out from under the weeds. Someone dumped a lot of bodies here.

Some of them still have ragged shreds of flesh clinging to them, but they slowly form up in front of the door.

"Oil and a torch, quickly." Edwin directs. His brow is sheened with sweat. "It is harder to control them than usual. Something is fighting me."

Arkanis get some torches, and tries to find some oil too quickly. He gives one torch to Edwin. "You should have get the oil first and cast your spell afterwards. Nice skellies otherwise."
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Edwin's skeletons take the oil and sprinkle the closest bushes, then set them on fire with the lit torch. They burn with a smoky, greasy flame that smells rank. When they approach some of the further ones, the plants fire off their needles at the skeletons. They are only able to take out three more before they are torn to pieces by the thorns. Edwin wipes his sweaty face with his sleeve. "We should find a place to rest," he observes.

"I agree," Aerie said. Agreeing with Edwin? That was a first. "Preferably somewhere with beds."
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
"Back downstairs?" Edwin asks. "The Barracks room? Unless you want to try all fitting into that single bed in the Mage's bedroom."
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Since no one seems to object, you go back downstairs to rest.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Okay, you rest all day (24 hours), resting, casting healing spells and resting again, bringing everyone back to full hp and full spells. Then, you return to your previous spot.

    OOC: Anomen memorizes Detect Evil.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
    Okay. Detect Evil it is.

Alora surveys the burned garden and torn out bushes. "I saw something shiny here before the bushes attacked me. I wonder if it is still there in the ashes?"

Alora will go looking for the shiny thing so long as she can do so without getting into firing distance of the remaining bushes.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Unfortunately for Alora there are plenty of bushes in the way...
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
Disappointed, Alora will go back to the long north-south corridor and keep heading south until she comes to a door she hasn't tried yet.
  • deltagodeltago Member Posts: 7,811
Just burn the bushes down. Light some torches and heave them towards them. Like this.

*Anomen lights a torch and tosses in the vicinity of some of the bushes that remain*

OOC: this is when @Minion rolls a 1 for me.

Minion roll 1d20 for torch throw

Anomen hits one of the bushes. However, without oil, it doesn't burn very well.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Meanwhile, around the corner. the corridor leads east 30' before heading south again. At 60', there is an offshoot corridor heading east. From here, you can see two doors across from each other 40' away, one north, one south.

You think the north door might lead back into the garden. You have no idea where the Southern door goes.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
Alora will try the door going south.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
The door leads into a 20' long corridor that ends in another door to the south. A strange smell permeates this corridor, of burning herbs. It leaves a pungent smell in the air.
  • Permidion_StarkPermidion_Stark Member Posts: 4,861
"I wonder what that smell is?" whispers Alora. "Is it from the bushes we set fire to?"

While pondering this she listens and checks for traps on the door to the south before opening it.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
You hear chanting from behind the door. It is neither locked nor trapped.
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
When Alora opens the door, she sees a 30' by 30' room. A Black-haired man in a blood-red robe is chanting in some language you cannot recognize. He is standing inside a blood-red circle, around which are painted various symbols you do not recognize. The man has a long, lean ascetic face, and his long black hair is straight and unbound. Though his robes look like those of a wizard, a black iron mace hangs from his belt. In the center of his forehead has been pained a blood-red eye.

In the center of the circle, in front of the man, lies a longsword that looks like it is made completely of ruby. It rests on a black velvet cushion. As the man continues to chant, the sword begins to glow from within, bathing the chamber in blood-red light.

When he sees you, the man calls out, "Help!" There are two doors here, one to the left side of the room (west) and one to the right (east). A voice behind the left/west door says, "Hang on, we're coming!"

"No one can help you now for I am Alora the Frog Slayer and your reign of evil is at an end!" cries Alora the Frog Slayer.

Introductions over, Alora swings her sling an attempts to hit the man in the eye in the middle of his forehead.
