Okay. This is a room 20' North-South by 30' East-West. A game table has been set up in the center of the room. A Chess set sits atop if, with a game apparently in progress. Two statues sit on either side of the chess board. One statue is of a man, the other is of a woman.
On the north wall of the room is a mosaic map of haven. Disturbingly, the area of the map that repesents the palace glows with a red light. The red light seems to be expanding slowly outwards, covering ever more of Haven as you watch.
Something about the moving light is intensely unnerving, but even more so is what it represents. The red glow that aurrounds this castles the power of Arik, and if you don't stop it, the whole of Haven is doomed.
Alora will go over and look at the chess set. "Queen to Bishop's pawn seven," she says (without having the fainest idea what she is talking about). "Checkmate!" She picks up the woman's Queen and uses it to topple the man's King.
The second set of double doors lead back into the ballroom. Since I am certain Alora will next try the other single door to the south, leading east, she finds herself in a room with no roof. Overhead, the sun is eclipsed by the blood-red glow that surrounds the castle.
This used to be the castle gardens, but it seems that most of the plants here have died. All that is left is a white rose bush in the center of this area. The rest of it is covered with some sort of weeds and weedy-looking bushes. The bushes consist of long, stick-like trunks with sickly green, spindlyleaves. The bushes are Dwarf-sized, but there are a lot of then, perhaps 10 or more all over the garden.
Dimly, beneath the weeds and dead plants, you can see a cobblestone path winding through the garden. The dwarf bush planets are scattered around the outside of this area, with the rose bush in the center.
From where you enter, you can see a door to the north (into the ballroom), and one to the east. The one to th west is where you are looking into the room. There is a bend in the wall, preventing you from seeing most of the south wall.
The room is irregular in shape. Its main area is 70' east west by 80' north-south. But where is an extra 20' east-west by 30' north-south in the western part where you entered giving the room a fat, upside down L shape (roughly).
The corridor to the south behind where the entrance to the garden is, goes on for another 20' and bends to the east, making a corner. You have a suspicion any doors on the western side of this corridor will lead to rooms you have already been in.
Alora stands looking at the garden, uncertain what to do next. The weeds look like they might be dangerous but Alora has the feeling that they shouldn't allow them to strangle the white rose bush. "Anomen, Aerie, Arkanis, Edwin, Minsc, Boo, do you think we should risk going through the garden or shall we go back the way we came?"
I'll try to place myself between the bushes and the fallen party members. If I can't, I'll. Attack and try to distract the bushes so that someone else can help them...
Arkanis asks Minsc to drag the fallen party members back to safety. "Hey, rather than make yourself a pincushion too help me with the boy and the girl!"

After that she searches the room.
