"We should take this with us," Duchess wraps up the sword in the Black velvet, being careful not to touch it with her naked flesh. "I have no idea what they intended to do with it, but any way we can interfere with their plans sounds good to me."
You withdraw to the bedroom and close both doors, putting furniture in front of them to make it harder to open. Anomen's sight comes back, and he's a mess. Luckily, there is a bathroom nearby where he can clean up.
Aerie rests and prays for spells. You hear someone/something moving in the corridor outside the room. You probably have 10 minutes before they being trying the doors. What do you do?
OOC: Grab the ruby sword and slay them all (is what Alora is dreaming of doing while she lies in her coma). Or we could try playing the tune on the lyre and see if it smashes the sword?
OOC: It seems there's a choice: wake Alora up and she grabs the sword to see what happens or wake Edwin up and ask him if he has any insights about the sword (though famously in Baldur's Gate Edwin is incapable of identifying anything).
Alora touches the sword. It's cold, hard and very, very heavy (even though it's made out of ruby, it's essentially a big piece of rock). The facets refract iight into thousands of flickers of red and gold. Some of them look like eyes.
Alora finds herself peering deeper and deeper into the sword. The sheer number of eyes is mesmerizing, and she falls like she is falling deeper and deeper into a sea of red and galaxy of eyes...
