I only posted a conversational piece on the Beamblog so as not to scoop all the media we alerted. Here's the full press release though for you loyal fans.
I would like to add, that while Beamdog has got a lot of new people, it looks like @NatJones ,an artist who created art for EEs, portraits for EE NPCs and the portrait pack for BG2EE, will now focus on comic books full time.
I have an unofficial blog update for you. A few months ago, Cam and Trent hired a company called Dialect to make us a Beamdog magazine. Dialect is the team behind Dragon+ and we thought it would be fun to have our own digital magazine to report on Beamdog news, do interviews with people we have in the industry, and so forth.
We planned to release and announce the first issue today, but a problem on Dialect's end has stalled the Google Play build. So it won't be out until tomorrow, at which point we'll do a formal media alert and blog post.
However, the iOS build has already gone live, so I thought I'd post about it here as a sneak peek for you loyal forumites. The idea is to have the magazine release quarterly (Jan/April/July/October) but because our first issue got delayed and for some other secret reasons, the next issue is coming out in late March. I'd love to hear your feedback and any ideas you have for articles you'd like to see in the future. We also plan to have the issues available in browser form on our website ~next week.
I hope you enjoy the first issue of the Familiar! Cam championed hard for it and I'm grateful to him and @Dee for all their help getting this off the ground.
Thank you! The magazine became my baby over the last few months, and I'm so, so happy to see it finally arrive. I can't wait to put the word out tomorrow. And how about that art from Heather Hudson??
I do hope it remembers where I left off. I find it really frustrating on the Dragon+ Android app that I've got to go find where I was every time I pull the app up.
Any chance of a PDF version for non-Android users?
We're developing a browser version that should be live next week so you can view it online. I'm not sure if it's downloadable off the web, I'll ask the Dialect team though.
Could you email details on what device you're using and what message/view you get when you try to connect to the contest rules, @wojtek ? It's working on my iPhone but I'll have Dialect investigate. thefamiliar@beamdog.com

Talked to Dialect this morning, and they said they don't have a process for making pdfs or downloading issues. However the browser version should be live Monday or Tuesday for those who can't (or don't want to) use the iOS/Android version.

You can find the iOS build on the App store (search for "The Familiar Magazine") or here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-familiar-magazine/id1069491414?mt=8
I was so glad to learn about the Dragon+ magazine, but this is even better.
I... I even don't know what to say! It's gorgeous, dazzling, opulent, glorious, marvelous, astounding and undoubtedly fantastic!
I wish your magazine years and years of existence.
