Actually, you have a lot of colors as well. Look at the orange of Mazzy or the pink of Imoen, for example. But they are very "pastel".
By discolouration I meant an intended inconsistency in colour which is quite characteristic to all BG portraits. In BG2 the effect is not as ridiculously exaggerated as in BG1, where even shadows are so absurdly colourful one could think they were taken straight out of the disco, but it is still very apparent in some images. Usually, it serves a purpose of its own, too. Take a close look at: - Viconia's blushy/greenish nose which makes the otherwise cold blue face look more organic - Jaheira's mixed gray/tan/orange-ish complexion, giving her that hallmark sickly look of hers - Dark reddish sunburns on Yoshimo's face, working to bring some variation to this expansive forehead space - The violet eyebag tint which help Keldorn and Jan look age-tired, and which also make you think Nalia might be skipping meals, or rather giving them to the poor - Fake reflections, most noticeable on the armours of Jaheira, Keldorn and Anomen, as well as on Minsc's bald skull - Coloured shadows & prominent highlights on Viconia's robe, making the fabric appear silky If you study these examples, you will easily spot other similar peculiarities. Just forget about logic for a while and play around with adding a wee bit of colour here and there. It'll quickly come naturally to you.
Whilst a strong jawline shadow is probably the most striking feature common to all portraits, another almost universal one is the extremely expressive lips. If you take a close look at them, you'll notice there is much more detail and contrast than you would expect and most of them have pretty crazy highlights. An obvious exception to this is Edwin, whose face is shaded by a cowl. And Jaheira is where it goes waaay overboard. The way they're protruding makes it look as though someone put a pair of leeches on her mouth
I took the liberty of illustrating a few of the concepts I discussed above with a quick edit of your earlier blade:
I opted for the standard skin tone in BG2, but I'm sure you could change it in a minute or two if you want to. :-)
Well, I hope you won't mind that I gave it a go. Her paperdoll skin tone wasn't as pale as the portrait but it looks more... peach-colored and I made her hair more vibrant for personal appeal.
Go ahead and change whatever you want. :-) I would however start with the portrait I uploaded, as the one used now clearly has all elven eyes (compare my chart or Jaheira vs Aerie).
Also, see my updated files. The added highlights makes her skin paler.
Finally, I normally change colors slightly with EEKeeper. A lot of NPCs have colors that differ from those in the portraits.
@BillyYank I suppose I was vague huh? As long as they fit fairly well along side the vanilla portraits. I do like that last one you posted though. *edit* Some of these I feel are a little too cartoony, but I really like a few others. Thanks!
EDITED 2016-07-23: Harder highlights and shadow below chin. Thanks for the feedback!
That, sir, is really really AWESOME !
Now, I don't know, maybe there's something to touch on her hair, not sure how to say that in English, but could you make the darker lines of her hair even darker ? Not the general tone, just the lines, maybe some contrast, I'm not really sure
I'm adding my voice with the others. . Wonderful Custom Portrait @Astafas ! Really great stuff. There is just one thing that I would like you to consider - change the hair color to white

Her hair should be pink. There are ingames dialogues confirming it. I did make it very light pink though, for which reason I also used softer shadows, like on Viconia's hair (ping @Sanctifer). But anyone is free to change their own downloaded versions, of course. :-)
Using EEKeeper, I've set Neera's hair to 0x99 and her skin to 0x0D.
My beloved quest companions! I have searched for a decent desert-nomadic warrior/rogue portrait (who has been banished from the Anauroch's tribes to Luskan btw.) for too long. . The only one I found usefull, is Prince from Warrior Within:
Please, help me out and try to suggest some replacement, for the poor Prince is way too much familiar!
@Buttercheese , ahh Thank You! for reminding me that DeviantArt >>> Pinterest
From what you've proposed, the Abu Dun and Desert Prince are most fair, but sadly one lacks even a fade of facial hair, while the other is maybe a little. . old & *cunnin' lookin' fella*

Sheesh, f*** Pinterest, I hate that website so much. DeviantArt and the "more like this" function are your friend. Anyway, glad I could at least lead you in the right direction >.>
My 6 year old is always interested in the games I play, but when it comes to the TT games, I have to keep her away from the table because the other players consider kids to be disruptive to the session. So, I would like to do something awesome to include her and I thought this picture would make a great Pathfinder inspired goblin. Is anyone interested in trying their hand at goblinizing my child?
For those of you who like Beamdog's new Viconia portrait - but don't think it fits in BG2 - I've made this one:
As you can see, I've been careful with my changes, as I wanted her to still be the same drow. Viconia now has:
- new colors on armor and clothing - darker, less blue skin - larger, red and more slanted eyes - less rectangular chin - smaller nose - smaller mouth with more correct angle and slightly less red lips - headband in the right position
I love the skin and eye colours on this one (especially that you left some red in there and stuff), but I do miss the brown leather and the blonde highlights ...

Lucky for you, I use plenty of layers in Photoshop, and may add some changes selectively. You have to accept the yellow cape though, as the blonde highlights and light brown leather won't go well with the purple.
Maybe do a different shade of brown then? The black leather just makes her look like a literal domina (I am also positive that after all those years on the surface that she doesn't still own her drow garments, in which case I could maybe forgive the S&M look). I dunno

PS: Sorry if I am being too demanding :X
I think you'll have to continue on your own in that case - I'm heading for bed here, as it's after midnight.
Something like these ? It's not great I know, I just cut/pasted/messed with Astafas' image files, and yeah, purple/brown/blonde, I agree it's not a great combination ^^ (and personnaly I think your black and purple edit is reaaaaaally awesome Astafas ! Best BG2 Viconia edit I saw !)

The yellow in her hair is - as far as I can tell - reflections from the yellow cape. When changing the color of the cape, the yellow reflections no longer makes sense.

Welp, that's a huge dissapointment. Another one to my "100% consistent problem within the official art and the content" list

Thanks for posting, I will have to go look at more of this artist’s work.
