So, in less than half a month, my life will change drastically

I've been granted a visa to make a permanent move to another country.

This is the thing I've been dreaming and looking forward to for the last 3 years. Taking into account all the awful events in the Russian economy as a result of the awful politics during the last year, the move looks even more tempting. Moreover, Bulgaria is a much warmer country and there's a lot more sunlight there.

From inventing an idea of the move, to gathering money, then finding a place to live, a way to work from abroad, then gathering and gathering all the documents, and now to finally getting an official permission to make a move... It feels unreal and real in the same time.

It means the following 2 weeks will be very busy for me: putting things into boxes, buying tickets, arranging everything...

As soon as I arrive to the new place, I'll get even more things to do, possible needing months to make a new apartment a good place to live.

I'm excited, I'm feeling as if something that has been only in my mind for years now really is starting to materialize.

One thing in all this is a bit sad for me. For those 3 years that I've been looking forward to the move, I've been enjoying this forum. The forum has become my second home. And now I'm feeling I'm going to miss the forum all you ladies and gentlemen A LOT. No more daily visits, no more your wonderful humour and discussing anything that can be discussed. No more reading other people's playthroughs, no more silly off-topic chattering and sharing insightfuls about the things we all love. No more portraits, music tracks, jeopardy, guessing, twitter deciphering.

To tell the truth, it will feel odd and I'll be missing it greatly. This forum has become a source of my emotions, my knowledge, my pleasure. The Baldur's Gate comminity here is awesome.

I would like to thank everyone for those 3 years. I would especially mention fellow moderators and administrators of the forum. You all eventually have contributed to me as a person, this is for sure.

I believe that as soon as I settle in the new place, I'll be back. Maybe not as active as I've been for the last year or so, but I hope eventually I'll come back in full strength. Just as other people here came back: Quartz, Dee, Shandyr...

There's one thing that I'm certain of. This Baldur's Gate comminity will continue to flourish and will get even better times ahead: the Adventure Y's announcement is not far away, then 1.4 patches for BGEE and BG2EE, then maybe PSTEE or even something bigger.

Are you sure you want to quit? Boo will miss you...

I'll be back, Boo!

Are you planning to return when things improve in Mother Russia? Have you sold your house/apartment?

Congratulations! I made my own relocation 5 years ago, and remember the excitement of something entirely new, while at the same time worry about leaving behind a lifetime of friends and family - although it is significantly easier to keep in touch now that it was for the previous generation doing the same.

Looking forward to the stories of your new quest, the new companions, and hopefully no foes to thwart!

Amazing support, everyone:) I'm really touched!

Are you planning to return when things improve in Mother Russia? Have you sold your house/apartment?

Actually, no, I don't plan to return. Instead, I think there will be a possibility of a further move, somewhere in the future, to maybe a more developed country :)

Good luck with everything! We hope to receive regular updates from you, and that you'll soon be able to return to the forums in full force!

What more developed country do you have in mind?

It's an interesting thing. There was an article recently about "brain drain" in Russia, i.e. educated people moving out. Apparantly it's over 70 recorded people per day. The number of people who do not report their move is ofc unknown. Do you plan to make it official with Russian authorities?

    Congrats!
I do not know if you find Italy a "developed country", but if you are looking for fine food, it is the right place
I guess that your family will move with you as well?

I surely don't want to oppose "developed" and supposedly "less developed" countries within EEC but it would be wise to monitor some of the changes that may come within the next two years. Since the late eighties the EU leaders have forgotten to continue building EU on a political basis. The purely economics aspects are unable to keep the whole thing consistent.
If things go wrong, Bulgaria may not be the best place to be even though that's probably very nice at the moment and more generally a nice destination.
