How Do You Keep Up With Threads?
While wondering whether or not certain people had seen a new update on a thread of mine today, I thought that perhaps they don't check their "Participated Discussions" section. (something I have a tab practically dedicated to 24/7) So this is a thread to sate my own curiosity. How do YOU keep up with threads?

I don't use Participation or bookmarks because I may miss out on a New Topic (like this one!) that I may want to comment on.
Following this link, and then every single link there indeed means the forum is life
For certain staples like the memes threads, I just look to see if there are yellow unread post numbers. I also keep up with any discussions that interest me by looking at the yellow numbers. If I don't have a lot of time, I just look for thread titles that look interesting, and skip ones that don't. A provocative thread title is more likely to pull me in than something that just says "comment on my new power build" or "here's the latest joke and novelty thread" in the title.
I've never felt any need to keep a record of threads I've posted in. If someone wants to engage me in a back-and-forth, they almost always tag me, and I try to always answer back if I get tagged.
I look for yellow new post numbers on threads that I start myself until they fall off the first page. After that, I forget all about them, and any other threads I've posted in or lurked in.
I guess you could call me a "casual" forum user, just like I'm a "casual" player of games.
One thing that really helps me keep up with active threads is the feature this forum has of automatically saving my place in each thread, that is, in large multi-page threads, it automatically opens to the first unread post when I click it. That is a super awesome forum feature, which I especially appreciate since I participate in a few other forums without that feature, and it is very annoying to have to scroll through a bunch of old posts starting from post one, page one, to find my place again from day to day.
I have marked the thread "All you wanted to know about the “Adventure Y” (the unofficial thread for this project)" in its beginning at 2013, but in the recent months every time I enter after an absence of couple of days/week, I get HUNDREDS of notifications! I seriously don't know whats going on with it ( maybe the weird countdown at the main page?), But if anyone wants to feel important - That's the way to go!
I gave up on that one.. :-p

I will follow the thread, or just wait another 1 day till the count down clock hits 0? ;-)
A task of reading more than 10 000 comments was ahead of me when I came back. In order to go through them, I decided to go step by step.
I enter a subforum, for example, SoD, or BGEE, or General Discussion, and slowly go through all the threads there.
Believe me, it's very fun. There're real brilliants here and there, in terms of posts, jokes and stories. It's wonderful when I find one.
But it's a long process. Going through even one subforum is a long task, taking a whole week maybe. A sweet long task. Better combine it with a cup of coffee.
