depends on if the spell is the 24 hour variant or not. If it is, then it reasonably shouldn't be expected to expire while you're resting. Otherwise, spells like Improved Invisibility have a much shorter duration.

That should be reasonable but the thing is when you don't have or are not a healer, if you successfuly manage to sleep outside, it can last for days without being busted... not 8 hours, DAYSSSS

Well, yes, I suppose I should have said that what I described is the way it OUGHT to work. In reality, many spells completely ignore the time spent resting when calculating duration.
In EE, you can get your rest interrupted by soldiers even if you're invisible, but the soldiers won't actually talk to you. Not if the whole party is invisible. You can just click "Rest" again and ignore them.
All it says is that "You are awakened by the call of an Amnian soldier." That doesn't mean they spotted you. It just means they're being loud and obnoxious.

If you click on loot on the ground to pick it up, you go visible. But if you right-click over it and then pick it up from the inventory screen, or use the EE quick loot feature, then you maintain your invisibility.
Also, you can disarm traps while invisible, but picking a lock will break invisibility.

The guards in Athkatla have learned all the shades of scent.
(or maybe the tent is no longer invisible since it is no longer on your person)
Maybe you snore...
