I'm royally pissed about the situation with Skyrim:
- first they release the game featuring the same lag problems that Oblivion, Fallout and New Vegas had on the PS3. - then they only fix the issue 3 months (or was it more?) later. - now the PS3 version gets no DLC because it might make the game fall apart.
Never again will I buy a Bethesda game at launch.
I think your problem there is choosing to play games like Skyrim on a PS3 :-D Seriously I understand their desire to get as many copies sold but the PS3 and Xbox are really really not the platforms for those kinds of games. However I understand your frustration.

Sorry, but I disagree. To me there is no such thing as a game that "only works on PCs".
The problem with Skyrim is that Bethesda did a very poor job in porting the game to the PS3.
@TrentOster: I never got this idea of putting games on an USB stick instead of a DVD. I mean, USB sticks break far more easily than DVDs (granted they aren't put in horrible cases like what they did with the 4-in-1 case of the Baldur's Gate series...My BG 2 disc eventually broke by putting it too much in and out of this case, horrible system). Plus, DVDs look far better on a shelf, like @mch202 said. Maybe I'm just getting too old for innovation. *waves with her walking cane* XD
Heh. I don't understand this thing about putting games on stuff these days. Just download it. Even if you're a collector, I don't get why you'd want the physical boxes. If you want to resell them when you're done playing them, sure, but if you're going to keep them...

Bethesda games are always best on PC but my laptop is not cut out for games released after 2007 and I enjoy most games I buy on the PS3 (even Fallout New Vegas that was buggy but fun). But I mostly bought it because Bethesda made it sound like they knew what they were doing with the PS3 version. They said they where giving every platform the attention they needed.
I want mine as a pancake maker. When you load a new area, a map of the area is burnt into the pancake. And when you die it splashes strawberry syrup all over the pancake. Sweet delicious red screen. Yum-yum.
Seriously though, ignore the heathens asking for tangible copies. Focus on Adventures A, B, C, D.... X, Y and Z. :P
Its true that a mouse is a lot better for RTS games than a controller, but that didn't stop me from having fun playing C&C:Red Alert on my PSX.
wooooo... Red Alert! what a great game! I remember producing huge amounts of Mammoth Tanks before attacking.. Didnt like at all Red Alert 2,3.. though..

I understand what you are saying but it is based on emotion and feeling not on technological issues. If a game is designed with one platform in mind, and an inferior platform gets a port then necessarily the platform with lower capability hardware will not deliver the same experience. HOWEVER, If a company advertises that their product will work on said lower capability hardware...then they are obligated to make it work. Also taking 3 months to correct their mistake is unforgivable too. This means Bethesda is still to blame, but the underlying fact that if you want the best experience for that type of game....go with better hardware
DVD is so much better. what if you download it, then get a new computer and have no way of transferring it. you would have to buy it again!
Im confused how is a DVD better than USB? aside from the huge amounts of space wasted on a DVD for a game as small as BG small USB's are fairly cheap and portable to boot and more durable than scratch prone optical media... Oops forgot some consoles dont have USB ports......but I think USB sticks for PC and cloud for the devices without ports like the iPad.

While that was definitely true, RA doesn't have the level of complexity (i.e. speed, tasking, scale, etc.) that came later requiring the use of a full keyboard and mouse for speed and precision. I couldn't imagine trying to play Total Annihilation on a console.
Was checking out the cost for bulk 4GB flash drives the unit cost seems to fall into the $1 to $2 probably a lot higher than bulk DVD's which are probably somewhere under $1 so guess that is a problem.

So I suppose that could be something that would hold it back.
I may do the same for the GoG games I have as well. A USB of awesomeness.
