The waiting is driving me crazy. Just to think, that this game (honestly, I wanted to use "sh*t") should be released right f*ckin' now!! But no: "wait till 30 November, assh*les". They did released hardly any materials from game yet. Just some screenshots, voices and stories that doesn't actually matter for some of us here (actually I think that MOST of us). But they did however revealed the price. Sure they did: you can even pre-order the game. But why the fridge would someone in the right mind do that: there are close no informations about the crap. Just "yea: we fixed this sh*t, we fixed that sh*t, there will be this stuff and let's hope and pray that you will like it.". And what do you get from blindly believing what they wrote? A forum badge. Well, f*ck you too.
Wenersky if you want to see 90% or so of the game content you could always look up information about BG1 tales of the sword coast considering it's the exact same game simply with bug fixes and a bit of added content.
Heck you could go learn the whole storyline and ending if you wanted.
There´s really no great revelations to be made. The graphics are basically the same, with some 1pp in and a new scalable UI. The only gameplay changes I expect are in the IPad version as it's a touch interface, not a mouse/keyboard one. Actually that's probavly why Trent Oster said they have an IPad gameplay video waiting for approval. Mostly everyone who already knows the game is probably more curious on how they adapted it to a touch interface than anything else.
There are the new storylines for the added NPCs, of course, but I´m sure someone will have posted the entire storyline within 24 hours of the release, something I will NOT read until I've played the game myself.
So actually what has been fixed in the game is a more interesting read to me than anything else. Some quite old bugs have been finally officially squashed, we get a more mod-friendly game and that makes me happy. The OGG support alone will cut a lot of time in mod installation as there will be no need to convert sound files on the fly.

There, I finally said it.
Huh. What, exactly, do you want then? Nobody's forcing you to pre-order the game. You could argue that pre-ordering any game is exactly like that - did I know what Borderlands 2 was going to be like before I pre-ordered it? No, not really - I had an expectation it'd likely be as fun as the first game, though, so I put my money down on good faith that it would be.
Do I know what Project Eternity from Obsidian is going to be like even though I (on a personal basis) joined in the kickstart of the project? No... and I still don't. They've released a bunch of stuff that tells me nothing about what the gameplay will be like other than words, but just as with Gearbox and BDL2 I've faith that they'll put out a quality product I'll enjoy.
So, feel free to wait and make your decision once the game is out. If you don't like what you're seeing and hearing, then feel free not to buy it. If you do like it, then, we humbly ask that you support us in the effort so we can make more great stuff, like making the enhanced version of BG2 that much better and in the process improving BG:EE even more since we can back-port any changes/improvements we make, or possibly even more other enhanced games or dare I say an original new title.
The decision to delay was by no means an easy one, and thankfully everyone in the community has been (generally) really supportive of that, save for a few individuals such as yourself. And we understand that it's not acceptable to some people and they now want to wait and see what the game is like post release, and we get that others might even really really need that $20 bill back so we've offered refunds on pre-orders if that's what people want. Not once have we ever tried to convey a "go f*ck yourself" attitude like you seem to have taken from the exchange.
So, what are you looking for? What do you want? Pre-ordering the game is the same as pre-ordering any other game. Earlier on, you get a discount and you get a little something as a token of appreciation (maybe, you don't even get that with lots of other games that you pre-order). Closer to the release, sometimes the discount purchase price is no longer in effect, or said token of appreciation is gone. To date: the only other pre-order bonuses I've gotten in recent history have been... pieces of DLC that make no real difference to the gameplay, or in some cases I've gotten a steelcase for my pre-ordered Xbox360 games and the like -- which is from the retailer, not even from the game company.
Do we want to provide the above and beyond stuff? Hell yeah, that'd be awesome! But we're a startup. We're a startup that are not kickstarting, here. Everything we have is going into the game. If it were up to me and we had the budget, I'd send pre-orderers stuffed boo toys for a few extra dollars of support on their part or something. =P Maybe down the line that's a possibility.
Wanna bet our much beloved game will be delayed yet again? I don't know, I have that feeling creeping down my spine. I hope I'm just cold and I won't be proven right tho'.

Nah I think they'd just release it and do some post-release updating. Has been pretty quiet though.

I would like to think so, but the lack of further screenshots and videos concerns me. I am confident that this game will be magical when it is released, but I fear that each delay makes BG2EE that much harder to pull off well. There are so many cooks in the kitchen with the BG IP, it scares me a bit.
The team are visiting Wizards of the Coast this week to get some major approvals done (per Trent's twitter). I would imagine that after they get back they'll be able to show a lot more.
@Navarre I doubt it...I don't think they would want to further push everyone's, particularly the pre-orderers' patience again. Like FrozenCells said, if there is more to be done there will probably just be an update or something.
@Aosaw, Maybe not, they may be awfully tired after a journey like that...
Hey guys. Show some patience. These people are working hard for YOU, for this game. And all you can show is grumbling and unwillingness to understand? They're putting in this effort for you. Also, they're still human beings. They got needs, like rest, too. Show some consideration. This delay is not the end of the world. Just keep yourselves busy with life or with other games in the meantime. There's enough to do, isn't there?
@Kristie83, I hope so as there will be a lot of flaming from some of the pre-orderers if the release gets pushed again.
@Kitteh_On_A_Cloud, that wasn't grumbling, you should see other venomous posts, the majority of us do understand, annoying isn't the length of the development time, just the delaying of one date to another. If it were left to my choice I would say ''pick a date in a year, doesn't matter what year it is, when it's convenient to you...just stay with that date and keep your promise, what ever you do just don't delay''.
I know a thing or two about deadlines as I live much of my life on them, trust goes a long way when you deliver what you promise when you promise it...in my experience people tend not to care of your problems after you promise something and you do not deliver it. Usually I go with blank nights just to finish what I need to finish.
I was just giving voice to a feeling I have as I haven't heard of any updates, all though I admit I don't follow twitter so I might have missed something.
So no grumbling or unwillingness here, I'm all out of that, even if I'm one of the pre-orderers.
Whats all the hubub over delays, it's not like this is the ONLY game out there....there is Heroes of Might and Magic 6, and the New Xcom game to keep ya busy till BG is ready
@Navarre: It's understandable that you are a bit annoyed with the delay. I think it must have been even more annoying for Oster and his team, though. Keeping to deadlines is important indeed, but sometimes you come across an obstacle that just isn't that easy to ignore and it might mess up all of your progress. In Oster's case it was a huge amount of old code that was causing some major problems and he just couldn't see another way out than to delay the game's release. On the other hand, would you have preferred to get a buggy game? Think how THAT would have influenced the public's general impression of team Overhaul. The customers would just dismiss them as a failure. It happened with Bioware's Dragon Age 2, which, contrary to its predecessor, got only about one year of development time. The result was sub-par, especially for a Bioware title. So yeah, personally I hope that with this extended development period, Overhaul can make something even more beautiful out of BG:EE.
After playing IWD original version I am soooo looking forwards to the interface improvements of BGEE, zoom will be so nice to have. The lag on IWD is crazy (have widescreen mod), but to have BG smooth and zoomy will be great - plus I haven't played since original back 10+ years ago so have forgotten most of it!
Hopefully, we are now only one month and a half away from the release date. It seems to me that there are more than sufficient games to revisit between now and then. I am working on the basis that BGEE will arrive on or before the revised date. I am not aware of any news of insurmountable glitches and I think that we should give the development team the benefit of the doubt that they will deliver as planned. Presumably the additional time is required to deliver a polished product as I would have thought that it is clearly not in Overhaul's interests to delay the release of the game.

Just so funny.. Love sarcasme......or not..........................
You could be recalling an earlier post where Trent said "end of November", which would translate to the 30th. I don't remember anymore if there was previously a date there.
Ah yes, here is a copy/paste from the email on 9/14:
"start quote email" Dear Friends of Baldur’s Gate,
When we first announced Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, You set fire to our servers and we were overwhelmed by the huge wave of support from the fans of the original game.
Once the fires had subsided, thousands of you posted suggestions and requests on our forums. Dozens of volunteers from all over the world helped us improve game play, squash bugs, and generally fine-tune the game. Even more came to help work on translations from English to more than 16 other languages.
Executing on our plan to make the best Baldur’s Gate possible and responding to that overwhelming feedback, we’ve added new characters, areas, and story, creating many new hours of game play. Yet the suggestions, fixes, and translations continue, and more volunteers keep joining.
After recently reviewing the game and then consulting with our partners, we've decided to ensure that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is the best possible product on launch. Thus, we have pushed back the release date of the game. Our release date is now November 30th, 2012.
To all who have pre-ordered, we ask for your patience as we move toward our final release date.We will be working on something a little extra for you. To all who have volunteered, we thank you for your dedication and support.

I kinda disconnected for a bit after that. After reconnecting and rereading the OP, I just wondered if they were now adopting a policy of releasing as soon as ready, rather than the set nov.30th date. Since the OP now reads "in november" rather than the 30th.

Relax dude... Whats the rush...
You dare to delay this now? Do you even know whom you're delaying BGEE from? You will suffer! You will all suffer!!!
Possibly going to release earlier in November?
Maybe i'm just misremembering or losing it. Or both.

Not a problem either way. Just curious.
