Dual class grandmastery

Can anyone tell me why a dual class, say a fighter dual to druid, can get grandmastery in weapon specialisation, but a multi class cannot? It just makes no sense to me as clearly the bonus focus on weapons comes from an inactive class int eh case of the dual. Is this something from pnp too??

Many thanks.

A fighter who duals to druid at level 9 is supposed to be able to get GM in one weapon, which it can. But that character can also get GM in another weapon with their druid proficiencies, which isn't supposed to happen. It's a bug. There's a mod or two that prevent dual-classes from getting GM with non-fighter proficiency points.

Thanks, it appears this mod just fixes that one issue then, no other changes? I'm a purist with my games but I do fix things that are broken (which this appears to be)

This makes much more sense. Surprised it wasn't built like that on EE.

Back to the fighter / druid example - are they supposed to be able to wear any armor like they do in baldurs gate, or is that a similar oversight?

I see how that could work. Was just wondering what is true to pnp. I never quite understood why in baldurs gate a dual/ multi druids weapons were always restricted but how their armour would not be, if combined with a fighter.

Wasn't the druid weapon/armor restriction faith-based? I.e. it's not that they CAN'T use specific weapons/armors they just refuse to because of their beliefs. That shouldn't change if they're a F/D, should it?

@subtledoctor there's no need to code it again, if you want Fighter/Druids to get their supposed item restrictions, which is based on their ethos, IR has a component just for it called PnP Equipment for Druids. ;) Note that it's not a nerf, because at the same time IR gives to all druids, even single class ones, the possibility to wear a wider variety of medium/heavy armors (e.g. ankheg, wyvern and dragon scale armors).

IR? Sorry, I like my Baldurs gate mod free but this IR might be worth a look

Item Revisions used to be my go-to mod for making these games feel fresh and new.

The hell is with that lore though... Nature loving druid so can only wear animal skins not metal (which wouldn't cause any harm to animals)

metal requires extracting ore from the ground which is disturbing the soil which is a sin against the nature

Since you ask... I generally like to play a game as the original devs meant it to be balanced, but I will sometimes use mods that improve immersion or fix broken things. I see too many munchkinlike mods so have developed a skeptical nature on them generally. That plus compatibility issues breaking games and I'm a fairly casual gamer so just want things to work with minimum fuss.

One approach, but I find it generally falls short of my own desires for a game. I don't fit the usual demographic very well, because the level of challenge that I find fulfilling is off-putting for the majority of players. The designers naturally have to work around the average audience, and while they often do put in some tidbits for the extreme end of the bell curve, for me that is usually insufficient to have real fun. There's very few games I've played that I find satisfying as they are, and mods have become my bread and butter.

Sadly many modern titles eschew mod support for some reason, which annoys me quite a bit :(

I doubt it, It's very popular in britain. I use it in a variety of phrases.

    "We're out of bog-roll!."

    "I'm off t' bog."

"Mum, I'm on the bog! I'll ring you later."

"There's c**p all over the bog brush"

"I'd stay out of the bog for five minutes if I were you."

"Which one of you did the massive s**t that blocked the bog!?"

I take full responsibility for this entertaining exchange.

@jesterdesu Has your question been adequately answered with regard to dual-class characters and grandmastery?

    unrelated question:

Does a fighter{2}/Thief{x} dual class get to choose from the fighter's HLA or just the thief's ?
