    @Isandir : I kinda have a request :$.
    A friend of mine asked me to help her make a paladin out of Arizona Robbins.
    I tried several things, but I just can't do anything with it, everything I try ends up crappy
    Could you help me help her please ? Here's the base pic and the best wip I've got (not the furthest, but the one with the most potential I believe)

    @Isandir any chance you could try this one I've been looking for a picture where I look mad enough to be my totally unhinged wild mage with one of your awesome backgrounds.

    Greetings. This is a very good portrait of Jaheira, I think, but the problem is her armor is leather. I've always prefered the BG2-look, but using this port ingame feels much more like Jaheira. However the leather armor irks me something fierce - yes, she is a Druid, but she is ALSO a fighter, and in every game of mine she ends up wearing full plate eventually. My request, then, should be obvious: anyone feel like putting some decent armor on her? :)

    @Syntia13 - On the left you mean. ;) Nice work, I think it looks better than the original female version.

    I dunno, honestly the armored Jaheira of BG2 bothered me even more, specifically because she's wearing heavy armor. Yeah, she's a fighter, but she's also a druid. Druids aren't allowed to wear metal armor, and it's not just an arbitrary game mechanic. It's against their spiritual teachings. Honestly the fact that she was even ABLE to equip metal armor in-game just because of the dual class bugged the hell out of me. As a druid, she would avoid wearing metal armor even if she had the ability to. . -c .

    'Tis true, unfortunately game mechanics trumps immersion for me, here. There simply aren't any good leather/studded leather armors, esp in BG1 (not to mention that you take extra damage in leather. So thats crappy AC AND crappy protection!). I'd prefer to have her lightly armored, but if I do, she simply can't stand up to the other tanks in the party and becomes more or less useless.

    Dragonplate indeed! Or Elven chain perhaps? Some type of natural look... :)

    @NocturneN I wouldn't consider the Shadow Armor "bad".
    Anyway, you don't get extra damage OR AC penality vs blunts while wearing leather armors.
  • NocturneNNocturneN Member Posts: 123
    Shadow Armor is crap. Okay, for a thief it's decent, but for a tank it's crap.

    It's AC 4 with no chance to don ring of protection. With modifiers it's AC 3 vs Missile/piercing, AC 4 vs Blunt and AC 2 vs Slashing. Will hardly cut it against good opponents.

    An unenchanted Full Plate is AC 1, AC 0 with a RoP and with modifiers it's AC -3, -3, -4!

    My thief in Studded Leather always takes higher damage from opponents than my tanks in Plate. There is a +4dmg penalty, I think, for wearing leather.

    It is kinda obvious that a fighter (or cleric) without thief levels would wear a full plate instead of a leather armor.

    The +4dmg bonus applies only to a target that doesn't wield any weapon.

    Then it depends on how you play Jaheira, I guess. I play her as a tank, because, woopdidoo - fighter HP & APR! ;) And I sincerely doubt that Jaheira would would be able to stand up to the baddies with Shadow Armor as some of the other tanks in Full Plate - it's a tanking comparison I was making, remember. :)

    Strange, my thief always wields a dagger - I was thinking it was the lack of helmet, myself. Not really found any solid info on this.

    But, we are digressing - if anyone feels like attempting armoring that portrait of Jaheira (Dragon Scale? Elven Chain? Ankheg Plate? ^^) I would be much obliged. :)

    @NocturneN

    Shadow Armor was clearly never intended as a tanking armor--as evidenced by its bonus to Hide in Shadows.

    Shadow armor is my favorite thief armor. Cool bonuses and black is slimming.

    Since we're on the topic of Shadow Armor, can someone tell me what the StringRef is for it in NI? (Basically I was screwing around in NI and accidentally changed it and have no idea how to change it back).

    Obviously. Which is why I don't use it for tanking in, but reading SpaceInvader's post it seemed like that was his suggestion. ;)

    @NocturneN

    OK, gotcha.

    And Jaheira couldn't wear it anyways, because it is Thief only armor. So there's that as well.
  • FoggyFoggy Member Posts: 297
    Armor that fit Jaheira ethos could be Shadow Dragon Scale (SoA) and White Dragon Scale (ToB), til then Aeger's Hide +3 is not bad when tanking. Leather armors are seriously lacking in BG1, so I fit her with whatever gives her a decent protection.

    Couldn't find a portrait for BG1 Jaheira in plate mail, but I stumbled across some good ones for Coran, which vanilla portrait is ugly as sin.
