That way nobody can get mad at me when BG2 turns into a giant Korgan/Dorn/Sarevok bro-down.

Something tells me Korgan and Dorn won't get along too well. Unless they step over the usual orc/dwarf relations.

Absolutley LOVED his character, attributing everything to either strength or weakness. I did however think he would at least have a soft spot for his mother, and was disappointed in the fact that it wasn't so. That is however not enough to make me dislike this character already. I know that if I make a female Charname, she's choosing him over Rasaad, and DEFINITELY over Anomen!

Well, he didn't drop his mother. That counts as a soft spot for his alignment range.

@PhillipDaigle Is it possible to add links to the CandleKeep Library for the specific character on the 'new character' page for that character, and vice-versa? That way, if you don't know about the Library, you can find it when you're reading the initial info?

I like the fiction pieces, more for Neera and Dorn. It's definitely getting my excitement back up (it dipped hard when the release date moved).

    Awesome voice actor. Enough said.

This was by far my favorite of the three.

Someone needs to throw up a "favorite character from stories" poll. Also a "who would win in a fight poll," although in that case the answer should vary dramatically from BG1 to BG2. (High-level monks are unstoppable.)

@Dave My money's always on Jan.

@Dave already done the first one. As for the second, I think we all know Neera wins, so whats the point? :p

@Dave, there is a typo in Dorn's story.

Dorn bristled at the sound, **more more** than that he hated his mother for making him look like a child

Either a word got left out and then replaced by "More" once more... or you just typed the word twice. I think you also need a semi-colon in place of that comma, so it reads, "Dorn bristled; more than that, he hated his mother for making him look a child."

@LadyRhian Thanks. I'll ask @PhillipDaigle to fix that when he returns from the jacuzzi with the supermodels.

Im more for "Who wants Phillip Daigle to reveal the easter eggs because my eyes hurts" poll...

@mch202 I'm half-convinced that there are no easter eggs, and @PhillipDaigle was just trolling you. ;)

Another typo: "He understood the common tongue, but he usually he spoke the language of orcs." - extra "he".

And "Enhancments" on Dorn's character page.

    < /nitpick >

@Jalily That's it. Phil loses supermodel privs for the week. (But he's back now and will fix those soon.)

Also, @LadyRhian and @Jalily, you are my new official proofreaders (assuming you're in the Beta).

Also, in the Dorn's character page the "Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition" isn't highlighted like in Neeras page and Rasaads..

"Dorn is a half-orc Blackguard whose otherworldly patron grants him terrible powers in the form of his black sword and unholy spells. Add him to your Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition( <---- should be highlighted ) and inflict evil to the last corpse."

    Talking about nitpicking... :-p

I wasn't sold on Dorn until I heard that voice acting. Frickin' awesome.

@Dave I'd love to... Macintosh user here.

    @Dave I'm not. D:

But you were just teasing, weren't you? :P
  • LadyRhianLadyRhian Member Posts: 14,694
Now I am thinking of that line in Buckaroo Banzai, "There are monkeyboys in the facility. Work. Work."... ;)
  • DaveDave Member Posts: 200
@Jalily Not this time. You two get in on the Beta, and we'll work something out. I really have no proofreader at the moment, and the guy who would normally help me out is moving.

Easter eggs are no fun if I have to reveal them, but I'll point you in the right direction: Sometimes files have descriptive information within them.

Amazing voice acting and yet another great story. :D

The ending was bittersweet.. he found a city where he wouldn't stand out and where he could make a name for himself but ended his connection to the last person to care about him... even if she was a weak, spineless excuse for a mother.

Hmm... Rasaad and Dorn... it makes for an interesting parallel: Rasaad, an orphan, trained by monks; Dorn, almost an orphan, raising himself in Luskan territory.

How would Rasaad have turned out if his brother had died and he'd been forced to fend for himself in a city of pirates? How would Dorn have turned out if a monk had taken him in and taught him about different types of strength and what may count as weakness in a man?

I wonder to what extent Dorn would fit in with a good party... From the voice acting he doesn't appear to be a "murder! death! kill! murder! death! kill!" sort of guy but rather an "out for himself, tough luck if you're a weakling" kinda guy.
I really hope good aligned NPCs won't object to his presence on principle. I mean, Xzar is being his usual happy-go-mad self, flattering the PC with sweet lines such as "your voice is ambrosia" and all of a sudden Khalid is stammering "could you be a bit less evil?".
    That escalated quickly. :P
