We haven't explored it properly yet, I don't know how much is accessible to start with but yup, that's the guild's stronghold You know you're always welcome to come and join us whenever you want, I've sent you an invite
Sigh, I'm going through withdrawal pains. The NW server is down every Thursday for routine maintenance. Today they're down even longer than usual. These hours of my day would have been when I could have played the most today.
They're expected to be back up right about the time I have to leave for work. I might get to play a short time after work tonight, but there's a good chance I'll be too tired by then.
Oh, well, I get a three-day weekend coming up. I'll likely be playing every waking hour during those three days.
That's exactly right @Shandyr It's less about playing Neverwinter (although it's great fun) at the end of the day it's just another MMO but playing with the lovely people from this community is what convinced me to re-download it and form the Order of the Flaming Hound with you guys. Hopefully I'll have plenty of time to play over the weekend.
Log in, create a character and jump right in @Troodon80 oh and let us know your handle if you want to join the guild so that we can send you an invite for that and our chat channel. @Shandyr are we keeping the chat channel now that we have guild chat?
So ... there are five types of elves but no gnomes, half-orcs can't be green and there are both draeney and dragonborn. And for some reason halflings are wearing shoes.
There is a poll going on, on the Neverwinter forum.
I went to that poll with the thought of voting for Gnome. Then I saw Aasimar. I'm a fan of Aasimar, I mainly play paladin characters when I'm not playing mages. Aasimar are awesome.
I voted Gnome... I was compelled to vote Gnome... I don't want to be a panda rug just yet. :P
DDO follows 3.5 PnP D&D much more closely though it uses the variant spell point system from Unearthed Arcana. It has Faerun and Ebberon setting but you have to pay to transfer a character to Faerun (I haven't tried it yet).
DDO Has the following races: Human Elf Halfling Gnome Half-Orc Half-Elf Drow Warforged
and then Iconic characters which start at level 15 Deep Gnome Shadar-Kai Sun Elf Bladeforged Purple Dragon Knight
Some races and classes you do have to pay for. Also instead of Prestige classes they have old WoW-styled talent trees. Like Wizard has the Archmage and Pale Master trees and such.
It's the same sort of left click to attack, hold right click to manually aim with action bars to bind your spells and abilities to. It also uses all of 3.5's skills like spot, listen, move silently, hide, use magic device, jump, tumble, diplomacy, etc.
If you're looking to play D&D 3.5 with decently faithful accuracy then I recommend DDO. I plan to play both DDO and Neverwinter. Like @Shandyr I like Faerun a lot more than Ebberon and seeing Neverwinter again is great but if I were to choose a game solely by mechanics it would be DDO.
Yeahhh I prefer DDO personally for D&D stuff but I think Neverwinter will be fun to hang out with the forum members. Quoting myself just to show DDO's classes/races and stuff.

I'll go download the game.
... I am sceptical.
NEEEED
and this is based in fourth edition which actually has the best gnomes (outside of Pathfinder) imo.
