It is rumoured that the Druids of Scosglen have control over the very earth they walk upon.
Some say that they could even move entire mountains - one boulder at a time. https://youtu.be/4bnUtgfYFWw

Nice updates man. I was thinking. Is it possible to turn the basic "attack" skill into an actual point based skill? So you can put points into your basic attack to increase its damage and accuracy? That would open some doors to new possibilities i would think for in case of having weapons that "fire magic arrows or explosive arrows instead of normal arrows". Those weapons wont fire those arrows if you're using some other skill other than normal attack IIRC. I think i had a bow Paladin and that was one of the major drawbacks was normal attack lacked damage and accuracy. You might be able to create some interesting Melee build based items for basic attack too. Never tinkered with it but its just some ideas to throw out there. Thinking outside the box

In theory, it might be possible. In practice, one would rather introduce a passive skill that would apply the damage and accuracy boost to the attack. The end result is the same but much easier to implement.

I posted some info about the way Diablo II Enhanced Edition approaches the skill system, for anyone interested.
No specific skill descriptions or anything like that. Just a general outline of the character development journey. https://millaire.com/topic/17-about-the-d2ee-approach-to-skills/

Wouldn't that cause all skills to get the bonus though? Your skills would then be overpowered.

Well, the Barbarian has tons of such passive skills, and I wouldn't call the class overpowered

If you have seen the D2EE planned features list, you may already know that I'm going to write a full storyline for Nightmare difficulty (and maybe Hell, too, later on) which will be a continuation of the original plot.
Here's Cain, talking about the first quest of Nightmare - destroying Baal's soulstone: https://youtu.be/1PPgXxmzjVw
Another little teaser:
D2EE's Nightmare mode will have you revisit the Eastgate Monastery.
The Sisterhood's leaders will welcome you warmly in the great Citadel you helped reclaim. https://youtu.be/udnVCqVMzIc
Here's some more of the excellent Eve Brent (Akara). I spent way more time than I feel comfortable to admit working on those lines.
Through my arcane gamedev skills, I managed to synthesize new phrases like the Worldstone and Prime Evils, which Mrs Brent never recorded during her lifetime.
I hope that my work is a fitting tribute to this great actress. https://youtu.be/PVZRZAbeH3g
Teaser:
During your journeys through D2EE's Nightmare difficulty content, you will encounter a monk of Ivgorod.
Will you heed the revelations of 1001 gods and earn his friendship by completing his tasks and trials? https://youtu.be/RNv5vBXqg0U
Teaser:
As you set your first steps into D2EE's Nightmare difficulty content, you will meet the Deathspeaker, leader of the Priests of Rathma. Will you join forces with the Necromancers and work to uphold the Balance? https://youtu.be/9tVpVvfhkTw
Teaser: In D2EE's new Nightmare difficulty storyline, you will revisit the Eastgate Monastery.
While you were busy chasing the Prime Evils, the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye managed to reclaim their ancestral home, and now the surviving Rogues are working hard on restoring it to its former glory.

Take a look at D2EE's world map, taken from the project's design document.
Orange location marks are places previously visited in Diablo II's Normal mode that will (most likely) not be revisited in the new D2EE content.
The areas marked green, or at least some extent of them, are almost certainly being included in the new D2EE content.
The areas marked blue are ones that I'm currently researching, and some of them might be included in the new D2EE content, in one way or another.
The areas marked red are almost certainly not being included in D2EE, because reasons.
Unmarked areas, which is mostly the Skovos Isles, are not entirely out of consideration, but are somewhat unlikely to be included.
And, yes, D2EE will, at one point, enable you to visit the mystic island of Xiansai!

I wouldn't say we know nothing. We know very little, which is actually much more than we know about many of the other regions of Sanctuary, like e.g. the Marshland and Swamplands (reportedly, even Blizzard's own writers confuse the two).
There is this fairly informative short story.
While it doesn't reveal as much as I would like, it does, and ostentatiously, portray the realm of the Xian as a very stereotypical fantasy of an East Asian land. Reading that was much like reading a chapter from Terry Pratchett's Interesting Times, only without the elaborate metaphors and humour. The short story lists two of the 59 deities the Xian culture reveres, and gives some much needed geographical details by mentioning mountain ranges and grasslands that once flowered (which can be seen as counter-intuitive, given the island's remote northern location).
With all that in mind, I'm confident I can pull off a part of the D2EE storyline that would take place in a backwater rural area of the island.
Again, a main point of the project's creed is to stay fanatically true to the game's lore.
There are a few difficulties with this approach, however.
One, the lore evolves and Activision-Blizzard keeps retconning things as they please.
Two, the lore is far from being exhaustive on major topics, and scant at best on minor topics.
Three, not all of the available 'expanded universe' content is 'canon'.
To deal with this unfavourable situation effectively, the D2EE project has to take some liberties in interpreting lore.
The D2EE storyline will not be 100% aligned with what is canon in the universe (e.g. the heroes are supposed to immediately return to their homes after the events of Lord of Destruction, which is not what will happen in D2EE) and might overlap with, if not conflict with, the storyline of the upcoming Diablo Immortal.
Also, it has to be noted, developing the new D2EE Nightmare content will take a long time, so it may well be that Diablo Immortal and even Diablo 4 will be available by then

These (yet unnamed) characters will most likely be NPCs, though I have a few other ideas on the drawing board that I'm still exploring.

As far as I know, GOG only offers the very first 1996 game, which is a wholly different product from Diablo II.
Diablo II Enhanced Edition requires Diablo II, the second instalment in the series, and its expansion, Lord of Destruction.
I blame the mosquitoes...
