@LadyRhian Garrick will make so much noise that no-one can rest until Aerie has identified either the statue or the pendant. Neither will he let any healers forget our injured party members. is it correct that Ajantis, Branwen, Cernd and Valygar all need healing and restoration?
If we do rest, Garrick will memorize Invisibility 10' radius, 2*Strength, Infravision, Friends and Identify. He will also borrow a dagger from Branwen to try to make a few stakes from the debris.
"We should rest to get our levels restore. We dont want to meet the same ends as our fellow friends Kivan and Keldorn. Brawen and Aerie, please memorize some restoration spells so we can continue to protect the people in this land and extinguish all evils. As for you newcomers, you need to prove yourselves. I will watch closely and judge your actions. If they are harmful to the group, I will not hesitate to impale you with my spear."

Good news, everybody. Three lost levels in that last encounter knocks Branwen back to level 6, which means no level 4 spells by my reckoning which equals no Lesser Restoration spells can be memorized. Huzzah for us, we're looking good!
On a slightly more positive note, Branwen will cast 2 cure medium wounds and 1 cure light wounds on those who require it most desperately. She also tosses a dagger to the chatty bard to watch him indulge in a bit of woodcarving.
OOC We can ask Tiax to memorize a few restoration spells as well. Also, if I get it right, we have boosted Aerie's wisdom so that she gets a bonus lvl 4 spell.
Lets see if Myval, Jhart1018 and Communard check in before we plan ahead. We also need to pick a new leader.
OOC: I apologize about my absence. I moved last weekend, and had more computer difficulties then i care to admit. And I have class today, so I plan to try to do some Cernd catch up, this evening.
After emptying the constant of his stomach on the face of his past (and partially eaten) companions, Cernd, gets up, stumbling towards the location of his companions, looking decidedly pale. "This, is no time to squabble. We should try to rest, to the best of our abilities." He said, looking around. He really wished there was a place where he could wash the blood from himself.
"A bored man is an angry man, I'm taking command. I feel a little unprepared for this job, but I'll do my best"
"Valygar, try to figure out where the spider and the zombies came from. Be careful, there could be webs up there. Skie, take Tiax and try to set up some kind of trap or alarm in the corridor, I don't want us to be caught unprepared again. Then the three of you go and set up a secondary base in a dark corner. Sorry, you can't have a fire, that won't work if the rest of us are to be the bait. Work out a guard schedule of your own. If we get attacked as we rest, you come in hard and fast. Tiax, you may try to convert them, but do it silently. Also memorize some restoration spells, please. Skie, once you've stabbed something, use them boots of yours to get to my position."
Garrick turns to Cernd. "I'm glad you feel better. The clerics need to focus on restoration, so I want you to select healing and support spells. Please pray for a Strength of One spell and also Defensive Harmony." He hands over the protection scroll and also a finished stake.
Garrick makes sure that Branwen has the ring of turning. "Please take Ajantis and Irina and see to it that our fallen friends get a decent cremation. Let me know if you want me to sing something. Xzar, if you want to poke them, now is the time. Regardless, this is a good time for you to study what fire does to flesh."
"Shar-Teel, you have first watch, keep your eyes open. Oh, and if you plan to overthrow me, go right ahead. I'm just trying to move things along anyway."
Next Garrick pick up the black dragon slayer sword and the doll and hand them over to Aerie. He takes her by the hand and leads her over to the statue. "I understand that you've taken the deaths of our friends very hard. Was Kivan perhaps your mate? Even so, you need to snap out of it. We need your divine spells and you are our best arcane caster by far. I can take care of the identifying from now on, but please use your current spell on the statue now."
Exploration reveals three opening into the room- the double doors you entered through, and two others that lead to stairs. Otherwise, there is no other openings you can find.
With a smile belying the rage seething in her eyes; Shar-teel stops just short of putting her axe into the upstart male's chest and instead pulls out a dagger. Roughly brushing past Garrick to reach Kivan's body she kneels down by the deceased. Turning her head to Garrick she calmly pries open Kivan's mouth and, quickly finding his tongue, begins to saw it off. A raised eyebrow, a widening grin at the horror on everyone's face, the only emotion playing about her face. Grisly task done, she rises to her feet and with a quick step, slaps Garrick in the face with Kivan's sawn off tongue.
"This fool wagged his tongue at me time and again and now it's mine. Would you care to add to my collection, troubadour?"
A sneer to put Edwin's to shame now gracing her features at the stammering and foot shuffling, she turns and walks away. Finding a length of thin leather in a pouch at her side she quickly threads it through Kivan's tongue and puts her newly acquired 'pendant of flapping tongue' in that same pouch.
Garrick holds his cheek and goes through a mental checklist in order to decide what to do about the tounge-slap. Sing a song? Scream and cry? Run away and hide? Ignore? Get aroused? Surrender? He decides to ignore Shar-Teel for now.
So, you have been through five rooms and a number of passageways- The passage through which you entered, the second passage with the gargoyles that attacked you, the room with Strahd, another room up the stairs with Lief Lipsiege (where Alora got you attacked by Wraiths, the large passage leading to the chapel and the chapel where you are now. You are on what would be the ground floor- the only room you visited on the "Second Floor" was the room with Lief.
Of the two archways, the one to the left side of the room (if you face the double doors which you came in through) has stairs leading both up and down. The one on the right only has stairs leading up. Neither Skie nor Tiax find traps on the stairs.
"Thank you Skie and Tiax." Garrick fetch what once may have been a leg of a stool. "Whistle why you whittle." He begin to carve another stake whilst he whistle a simple melody. "How is it going Aerie? Is the spell done yet?"
Aerie raises her head wearily. "I'm exhausted," she says. "Too many restoration spells in too short a time." She even looks thin and drawn and weak. She casts it again on Branwen, and faints.
"By Oghma! That girl just doesn't listen, does she? That was the one spell I wanted her to wait with" Garrick will now memorize two identify instead of the friends spell.
He picks Aerie up and carries her closer to the fire. The poor thing doesn't weigh much. "Cernd, Tiax and Ajantis, please cast your healing spells now. Some are still battered after the fight with the vamps"

Cernd are you all right? I never saw you lose control of your beast form like that.
