Valygar, Cernd and Ajantis are all down levels. But, seriously, casting even Lesser Restoration is draining, and the Clerics have been casting it a lot.
I wasn't thinking about restoration, they took normal damage as well. Poor Valygar wasn't well even before the vampire fight (36/72 at level 6 if I get it right). Branwen has now cast three spells, (though I think she was level 5, so that would make it one less Cure Medium) and Ajantis used his lay on hands, but I don't think that is enough to heal them all with regards to their current levels.
Poor Aerie and Branwen- they are being run ragged (so to speak). With some rest, Aerie can recover enough to cast more spells and restore the levels that everyone else is missing. Irina puts the necklace into Aerie's hand, and the Avariel seems to rest easier.
Cernd's color returns over time, and he continues to help in what way he could, by casting all the healing spells within his current ability, which was rather low, currently. He helps wordlessly with clerics, make sure they eat and try to keep them going, while they try to restore the party. He wearily eyes the new fighter, he didn't like how she responded to Garrick's reasonable request. But he was in no mood for confrontation. Who knew what the beast in him, might do now?
feeling Aerie'sspell take effect on her, Branwen wearily opens her eyes...despite her exhaustion, she feels somewhat better. Alarmed, she watches the frail Avariel collapse and she struggles to make her way to the elf in time to break her fall. Garrick is there before her, however, the young bard easing her fall and placing her by the fire....seeing this determined young man has taken charge for now, she decides to obey him, gathering the fallen bodies of our companions into the corner and performing holy rites of Tempus upon their corpses. "Keldorn, you were a fierce warrior, a fine leader and a good man. 'Tis my regret that things had to end this way for you, but you died an honourable death, protecting us all and dying in the heat of battle. May you get the eternal peace you deserved." "Kivan, thou were pert of tongue, a valued companion and a deadly archer. May your aim always his its mark in the afterlife. I wish you well, good elf."
With a warcry, she sets the bodies aflame, her eyes reflecting the blaze as she watches the bodies be engulfed. "This evil will never befall you again, my friends. You are safe from being returned in a manner most foul."
Sighing, wiping her singed hands over her breastplate, she settles down next to Aerie to try and keep watch over her, as the party rests and regroups....
Finished with the second stake, Garrick returns the dagger to Branwen. "That was a very nice cermony Branwen. Sleep well and don't worry about taking a shift, most of us are well rested."
He walks over to the other camp, Tiax is indeed trying to convince Valygar and Skie about his and Cyric's greatness. He offers Skie the stake asking "Are we ok? You seemed a bit put off before. You do know that I trust you and your abilities, don't you?"
Shortly thereafter Garrick begin another lullaby, this one is about the beauty of nature and how important it is that we preserve it for the future. As the song ends he states "I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree."
"Keldorn, you were a fierce warrior, a fine leader and a good man. 'Tis my regret that things had to end this way for you, but you died an honourable death, protecting us all and dying in the heat of battle. May you get the eternal peace you deserved."
OOC: That's better than he deserved. Abandoning his family, about to abandon his own party and dying while swearing the party was there to doom him. If only he was smart enough to remember in 2e you don't melee vampires without protection.
IC: *building up a mighty stomach ache in Cernd and ready to begin haunting his thoughts.. if you didn't become a werewolf I wouldn't have turned to flee... and now you've eaten me. Who will you eat next, Ajantis?*
OOC: Tiax returns from his trip to Bulgaria, bruised and riddled with aches, but not broken. It seems you have been straining our Clerics to their limits. Restoration is an evil spell. It also seems like we are resting our weary heads. I shall return.
IC: ...and then the mighty Cyric sent Tiax to not only aid you, but to lead you. *Chuckles* Tiax sees you are definitely in need of some leadership.
"Cyric - god of megalomaniacal gnomes the plane over...which ranks him where in the celestial echelon? Below Blibdoolpoolp, the lobster-headed diety? How very happy you must be"
Tiax is fine being this small, you will see why once he rules and oh how he will. The glorious days of his rule will soon be upon you, yet you would prefer to utter nonsense in his presence. Tiax finds you odd, and very manly... giant hands.
"Before we continue, I would like to know what lies beyond these stairs. If this is to continue to be our base, it should be secured. Tiax, Valygar, Skie, there is a stair for each of you. Please be careful."
Garrick will cast Identify on the statue and the pendant. He will proceed with Infravision and Strength on skie and Strength on Branwen before he puts on his armor again.
Okay. The necklace is The Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, a powerful symbol of both Law and Good. Once worn by the High Priest of this area, when Strahd became a monster, the priest was immolated by a Priest sworn to evil, who died when he touched the Symbol. It is in the shape of the Sun, with symbols having a meaning of "Light, Purity and Truth" surrounding the large golden crystal embedded in the center. It adds +2 to Turn Undead rolls, and when presented to a vampire, flares with the light of the sun for 1-10 rounds, paralyzing them. (10 rounds of sunlight will kill a vampire outright.) However, it can only be used once per week.
The statue is the Icon of Ravenloft, and another potent symbol of Lawfulness and Good. When presented, it adds +4 to Turn Undead rolls and can heal 6-21 points of damage once per day when used by a cleric of Good alignment.
@IchigoRXC, @bbear, @Awong124, where do you go? The Northern stairs go up only, while the Southern Stairs go up and down.
Apologies, everyone. Back to school at three different places, taking in a suddenly displaced friend, and a terrible bout of stomach flu put a serious kink in my ability to role play. Before we go anywhere, Aerie once again casts Protection from Evil 10 ft. radius on the party and leaves her other 4th level cleric spells for lesser restoration spells. She doesn't care which way we go so long as we get Gertrude and defeat Strahd. She's not certain, though, that she likes the way the new members of the party are talking...she thinks their words and priorites don't bode well for her future. (PS. I'll edit this later for a complete list of my current spells; have to check my school email to see if they found a sub for me.)

OOC: Have we rested yet, or not?

Irina hands Branwen the small statuette. Branwen feels a nice feeling of warmth as she touches the statuette.
