"There is nothing to fear but fear itself." Valygar remembers this saying from a wise old man. Valygar screams and charges ahead bravely (or recklessly) with his trusted spear. He'll distract the enemies while the others execute their plans.
Garrick cast invisibility on everybody right? Wouldn't Valygar have been better off sneaking up and backstabbing? He's a stalker with a backstab multiplier.
Shar-Teel manages to reach out and snag Tiax with one arm and fling him at the zombies. Luckily for him, her cast falls short, and he falls head-first to the floor. Stunned for a moment, he can feel the blood pouring from his nose and lips, appearing once it hits the floor. Shar-Teel, having committed an attack, appears in the middle of her snickering. Valygar spears one of the zombies through its head, killing it outright, leaving only one alive. Skie misses with one arrow, but hits the second zombie in the head, near-killing it. Tiax, goaded into action by his injured state and nearness to the undead, manages to strike enough of a blow to kill it.
And now, for a requested update on the game so far...
You rode through mist and came to a strange and unfamiliar inn where a messenger approached you with a message supposedly penned by the Burgomeister Indirovitch Kolyana asking for help in protecting his daugher, Irina. But when you arrived at the village, you discovered that Burgomeister Indirovitch had been dead long before the note was penned, and that his daughter had been bitten twice by a Vampire named Strahd Von Zarovich, whose family once ruled the valley.
On the way to Irina's home, you'd been distracted by a woman's weeping, and Alora and Keldorn sought out the weeping woman, only to find she was sorrowing over her daughter, Gertruda, who had been stolen from her home by creatures in the night. Keldorn blamed Strahd, and vowed to get the woman's daughter back, whom the woman had hidden from the town for years. With Irina in tow, you set off to Strahd's castle, only to be attacked by wolves on the way. Fighting them off, you found yourself at a gypsy encampment overlooking the lake, and discovered that the Gypsies were tired of serving and being used by Strahd. Their seer, Madam Eva, told your fortunes and where the items that could help defeat Strahd were in his castle. One, the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, you have already found in the chapel. The second, concerning Strahd's past, could be found "In the Mother's place", and the third, a sword with powers to defeat him, is located "In the King's throne", and his plans were revealed, to turn Irina and make her his bride, forever.
As you got closer to the castle, you discovered a coach that took you to the castle's entrance. Inside, you met with Strahd, who spoke with and taunted you before disappearing after Kivan shot an arrow at him. Following that, many lights in the castle went out, and you moved upwards to find where Strahd said Gertruda was kept (as he claimed he'd found her wandering in the woods). Instead, Keldorn followed the wrong directions, and you discovered Lief Lipsiege, Strahd's accountant, kept imprisoned and counting his treasures, he told you where one of the items you sought was kept, and Alora pulled on a summoning bell, summoning multiple Wraiths. You fought them but took heavy damage, including the Death of Edward, and when you returned downstairs, you lost Alora as well to gargoyles. Retreating to the chapel, you found yourself joined by Garrick and Xzar, and found the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, then were attacked by strange Zombies and three Vampires, who took out Keldorn and Kivan. You have since been joined by Tiax and Shar-Teel.
"Nice work. The thrones belongs to Tiax now, he earned them. Are there any traps on them or ahead of us?" Garrick, forgetting his invisibility, points in the direction of the doors.
OOC: Thanks for the much needed recap, reading it while at work during lunch heh.
Tiax rules all, and no thanks to you, you big handed wench. Tiax is no dwarf you can toss about, he is the ruler of all you see before you *he gestures at the zombie splattered thrones*
*Tiax moves closer and examines the zombies and thrones* The zombies had no chance against Tiax's great might! Now for the thrones, which to clean first.
Shar-Teel knocks Tiax aside (and to the ground) and begins examining the thrones, the area around them and directly behind them. At one point Shar-Teel steps on the still sputtering face of Tiax as she circles the thrones, seemingly unaware of him now that combat is over.
"Is this room the Throne Room described by the gypsy seer Madam Eva few nights ago? Maybe there is the sacred sword that can defeat Strald." Valygar checks the room for loots.
Not so much a room as it is a balcony. In fact, it looks like where the rulers watched church services from, being as the balcony overlooks the chapel.
You detect no traps, and find a 20' wide corridor outside the door, leading west. The light in the corridor flickers, and a low moan rises and falls as you open the door. The hall is dark, with a high, vaulted ceiling.
"I do not like the sound of that. Branwen, I think you better help Ajantis hold the line."
He turns to Skie as she returns. "Well done. Hold out your hand for a second" (Skie should be visible since she fired her bow, right?) He drops two packets of dust of disappearance in her hand. "With the strength spell I cast earlier and your boots of speed, you should be able to wreak havoc. It doesn't last for that long though, so begin with your usual stealth."
"Aerie, are you here? We want to wipe them out completely, so please don't use turn undead unless you have to. We don't want to hunt zombies for hours."
For a moment he is about to tell Shar-Teel to hit the enemies this time, but then decides to abide the lesson she gave him and remain silent(ish).
