Attached is a .2da file that fixes it. Just paste it into your override folder and Archers will be able to put 5 pips in slings and darts. Note that it won't be compatible with any kit mods because it will over-write the WEAPPROF.2da and erase any other mod-introduced changes.
I can merge this with my Universal Archer mod later, but I need to figure out the code to fix it properly.
Thanks to @subtledoctor's help, I've incorporated the right code into the Universal Archer kit mod, which now allows all Archers to get GM in slings and darts. This is compatible with other kit mods, unlike the file in the above post.

so i just need the weapprof zip and not the universal archer kit right ?
@Mr_Salty: Either is fine, if you have no other kit mods installed. If you have any other kids mods installed, or intend to have them in the future, it's better to install the Universal Archer kit mod and just pick the ranger kit, ignoring the fighter and paladin kits.
@Mr_Salty: I think I see what happened. My WEAPPROF.2da also contained string references for those proficiency descriptions, and my string references don't match yours due to a differing install (maybe because you're currently on a BG1 install?). In any case, I think you'll need to use the Universal Archer kit mod option instead, because apparently the WEAPPROF.2da file can't be simply copied over without the risk of messing up string references.
Cleric/Mage so far is the best for me simply because of the early skeleton summons cleared Bg1 srry for not posting the progress i am realy bad at that stuff haha
SOD kinda sucks u get xp capped like after 1 chapter already and does anyone know how to deal with a Shadow Aspect ??? lol that thing is deadly even my skellies cant take him for long hahaa
Finally got Serafina running. Escorted Brage to the temple so I could get the Stone Giant Strength potion, so I could open the chest in Carnival with the Fire Giant Strength potion, so that I could open the chest in the same tent for the second invisibility potion. Also leveled up. Went to Bandit Camp tent invisible, stood behind the pillar so Raemon didn't see me and I got free charm on Hakt. Hakt got hacked by Britik and I picked up the Thac0 -3 Bow. Used Hide in Shadows and looted the chest for papers, immediatelly drinking the other invisibility potion and escaping the camp. Slept and got the first horror, bought my rep to 10 and bought Sandthief ring and Greenstone amulet with 22k.
Drasus was the usual, charmed Kysus and Rezdan who killed the other two before surrendering to the guards. Davaeorn hacked by the guard. Got the second horror, so time for a reputation run.
Rep run for 20/20 economy, tome run, Bassilus charmed and killed. Ragefast killed by the Nymph, Ramazith by his own skelis. Bought 15 Stone to Flesh to xp-loop Basilisks and hit level 8. Kirian's party petrified too for the loot. Only charmed Naaman from Iron Throne for the PfU. Escaped Ogre mage waylay with invisibility potion, charmed and killed Iron Throne leaders for a Clarity potion. Slept for Duhm in the catacomb library and looted the good stuff without fighting anybody. Fed Riggolo for the Ghost for couple more invisibility potions and couple gamesmans hacked Marik. Cleaned up the way before Warders, nothing Serafina couldn't handle.
Except one thing has been bugging me in this run, how to deal Love with his Physical Mirror. As *** in Bows and ** in Slings, those are completely useless. I did put * to complete Two Weapon Style because of this, if I need to use the scimitars. I also have gathered all 9 Potions of Firebreath which should do nice damage against him.
Dont think this will be enough to beat him but i wish u luck man!
also this game pip focus is dumb i often get so many pips and to only put 1 in the weapon i use and the rest beeing garbage wasting the points i will do the grandmastery sling version after my cleric mage^^
Yeah I had to rely on scimitars. Activated the Warders prebuffing with Greenstone amulet. Managed to lure Fear and Avarice both to the basement with one go. 9 Firebreaths got Love badly injured. And after 10 Extra Healing potions Serafina killed Love. I could possibly have tanked him without the Firebreaths, but it would've taken a lot of kiting and possibly all 17 Extra and 30 Healing potions I had. This was definitely the way to go. Although thinking about it afterwards I could've also used couple Protection from Fire scrolls and burned him with OGL too.
Goblet level. Picked up the Goblet then left and indentified it. Came back and used couple invisibilities to pass the level and picked up one of Champion's Strength, Chaotic Commands and PfE '10 scrolls each. Used Greenstone amulet and Goblet couple times after fireballs hit me. Nothing really hard, although the homing Ghasts are something to worry about so you don't get boxed in. Noticed that they even came after me to the next level, which was convinient as I could lure them to the fire trap to be killed.
Fission Slime was burned with OGL, used one PfP and Potion of Absorption. Phoenix Guards ranged with the bow. Charmed Air Aspect who ate couple Invisible Stalkers before getting killed. Used two PfC scrolls, and casually ranged the bear. At the chess board I immediatelly drank invisibility potion, and Potion of Absorption before running to the last level. Went and picked up the 5th OGL, and Arla's Dragonbane +3 before using my free charm opportunity on the king. Charm worked and I got the second Champion's Strength scroll. Then Islanne teleported me outside. Passing the levels and getting the 5th OGL and 2nd Champion's Strength scroll wasn't that bad, so that I'll probably continue picking those up with characters benefitting from them.
After picking up the last two OGL's from Nadine and Delorna, I had just enough gold to recharge all of them and the Sandthief ring. Me and Larze killed Slythe and then I fed Quenash for Krystin. Palace Ambush, charmed the mage, rested and charmed the shaman. Dispelled the dobbelgangers before sniping them. Belt died but that's okay. Waited the mage appear which was killed. But before getting killed the mage conjured lesser fire elemental which nobody including myself could hit, so it just had to be waited out. Then I sniped the shaman single handely, and waited until Sarevok left.
After doing the finishing touches Serafina attacked Sarevok. Burned Semaj 23, Angelo 24, Diarmid 32, Tazok 38 blasts from OGL which meant I had 85 for Sarevok, saving couple necklaces for SoD. Also hit him with 7 Potion of Explosions and 4 Oil of Fiery Burnings. Used two PfU's to ignore the skeleton warriors. Invul, Speed, Heroism, 2x Mind Focus, Champion's Strength and attacked with Arrow's of Piercing. I had -11 Thac0 for Sarevok who had 232 hp left. And with my superior speed, making hits with 7 and above rolls, Sarevok didn't have a chance.
@histamiini how the hell are u able to hit him with melee ? how u get that thac0 so low ? this is still the pure archer build right ?
Also do u guys know how to manage Dragonspear Castle Basement once i start the battle with heph the whole map storms at me lmao and i cant exit map to rest up and go back but otherwise so far going good with the cleric mage!
@Mr_Salty Against Sarevok I used the Thac0 -3 Longbow and Piercing Arrows which are -4, Champion's Strength scroll -3 and Potion of Heroism -2, Archer bonus -2 etc. If you mean Love, I only hit with 19 and 20's I think, but he didn't have that much health left.
You don't need to fight them, I usually just run to Daeros or the chest and pick up the stuff. Then escape with invisibility.
Jin has had enough rest. Again Larze helped to deal Slythe. Slightly improved Palace Ambush, charmed the mage, rested, charmed the assassin, put them close to doorway so that they don't teleport back to their positions. Rested again and charmed the shaman, then used Nymph cloak to charm mage again from the doorway without activating the battle. Now all three of them were out of the initial battle, which was quickly done without casualties. Then Jin hacked the assassin. Charmed the shaman again so that it didn't spawn at the same time with the mage. This time I also charmed mages fire elemental to help us kill its master. Shaman was done pretty quickly too and then I waited until Sarevok left. I did use plenty of Durlag's Goblet because I didn't want to waste too much other resources.
End battle, Semaj took 27, Angelo 29, Diarmid 31 and Tazok 42 blasts from OGL. Don't know why Tazok takes so much more, maybe that's something to look into. Sarevok 56 blasts saving again couple necklaces for SoD, 7 Potions of Explosion and 5 Oils of Fiery Burning. At this point Sarevok had 395 hp left. After 9 Potions of Firebreath, 210 hp. Invisibility and buffed up. 2x Mind Focus, Storm, Clarity, Power, Duhm for -5 Thac0. And after couple of Durlag's Goblet Sarevok dropped dead, so Jin too rocks on SoD.
With Tazok very often I get lucky and he aggros much earlier than dying to the necklace, even tho it might sound silly it is much easier to kill him the traditional way.
I've seen this behaviour especially often when I parked them in the top left instead of low right corner.
Buffed up for Korlasz, but couldn't hack her quickly enough, so I used invisibility again and waited her two Mirror Images out. Then attacked and she surrendered after a while. Before leaving the crypt, I charmed Korlasz, she attacked herself and then everyone ganged on her.
Chapter 8. Teleria doesn't activate if you get hit before her dialogue, so Jin could freely hack her for the Stone Ally. Helped the dwarves and used PfU and Secret Revealed to easily kill the lich. After that I used rest of the PfU duration to OGL undead to 350k xp. Helped the vampire against Isabella and got my first head gear. Hid behind the tent for the parlay. Also made to level 9 and got the third Kensai bonus.
Chapter 9. Morentherene daggered, Ziatar burned, Neothelid passed and managed to charm Akanna who was quickly killed. Surrendered the fort and tanked the bridge party, done.
Chapter 10. Did the mundane guests for lv 10. Only new tactic I used was to charm the Crusader Recruit and kill him outside of the camp, so that I could complete the guest for Waizabh and get another Potion of Power.
Crusaders attack, prebuffed with 2x PfF, 2x PfC, 2x PfE, 2x PfA, PfP, 3x Mind Focus, Absorption, Storm, 3x Heroism, 2x Invulnerability, Clarity, Speed, Power. Charmed Belegram said good luck for me with Protection from Missiles and Improved Invisibility. Troll wave started with Silence from the necklace and I jumped on the Ogre Mages, and managed to prevent them casting Haste which is the most important part of this attack. It took 5 times the Goblet to tank them, but didn't need any summons.
Continued buffing with couple Heroism potions, and mages took three Myconids and one Stone Ally. I would say the most important part here is to stay out of the battle before Stycisch does his dispel so you wont lose your buffs. That is if you use Wizard Slayers.
Paladins took 3 Goblets, last of the Myconids and a Stone Ally. Final wave tanked with 5 Goblets. Also used Detect Illusions once from the necklace. If only Ashatiel knew I just held the Crusader Attacks almost single handely, she probably wouldn't have challenged Jin.
Another prebuff marathon. Violet, 2x PfE, 2x PfC, 2x PfE, 2x PfA, 8x Mind Focus, PfP, Fortitude, Defense, 2x Magic Protection, Speed, 2x Invul, Clarity. The last three in that order so I should notice when haste ends that it's time to refresh Invul and Clarity. Activated the lift.
First wave 10 Heroism, second wave 12 Heroism, third wave 8 Heroism and 8 Power for 674 hp. I had to stall in the last wave because Jin was dealing damage too quickly to them. Last break I used to refresh Speed, 2x Invul and Clarity.
Escaped Bels dispel, and started the glorious tanking. After four Goblets he was already near death, and dead after six. Hephernaan quickly followed after master Kensai hacked him to pieces.
Before tackling the Irenicus dungeon without invisibility and ability to kill anybody, I need to update SCS to the latest version.
does anyone realy have proof of doing solo SOD LOB SCS camp fight ??? i dont see how u can possibly survive this whole mess cant find anything on youtube no insane/lob difficulty atleast im stuck at the troll wave my 5 skellies die withing 10 seconds wand summons last 3 seconds .. archers u take with u dont do jack shit against them also cannot rest there to trap the place with skull traps my thac0 is +16 so i cant go in myself and dish some dmg any tips on how to progress ........
@histamiini the Sequencer robe did it for me beeing able to stun them with web and malison instantly greatly helped a ton! i gotta remember tho to stock up those skull traps and cloudkill scrolls according the wiki there is not so many in the shops
Last wave was kinda buggy for me, managed to web/stun the ogre and the casters skellies starting hacking away on him managed to kill him but more normal units kept pouring in as i was killing them the wave never ended, after 4 tries it actualy worked not sure what triggered that tho
@Mr_Salty You've to kill all the named enemies to stop the final wave. I did have list of places where you get Skull Traps, Webs and Cloudkills but can't find it anymore. If I remember it correctly there's about 20 Skull Trap and Web, and 5 Cloudkill scrolls in BG1 + SoD. If you want you can find all items with nearinfinity.

Irenicus Dungeon, tried killing the first Smoke Mephit, but couldn't without using healing potions. So I ran away and shut the door, and rested. Second try and this time I killed it. Lightning Mephit was even tougher so I had to run away, and lured it to room where the Golem was and shut the door. This took a while as it was fast enough to stop the door shutting, but eventually it gave enough time. Rested and tried again this time again getting the rolls to kill it.
Time to test the Horror theory. Couple Duergars panicked, but it didn't last long, and one Crossbow Duergar started chasing me. I lured it all the way to the Smoke Mephit corridor so I could maybe leave it there, except the four others followed. And they opened the door after I left them there. Not only that but they were pretty much homing Duergar. If I got enough distance I could rest before they found me. Took a leap of faith and stormed to the Activation Stone room, picked it and couple Extra Healing potions up. Which were crucial soon after in the Golem room where I had one Mephit and eight Duergars in tow.
Time to make a decision, go back and rest or push forward picking up the speed potions. I had so little health, so I decided to go back and make distance and rest. Surprise, there was one sneaky Duergar holding that position and it prevented Jin from resting. Soon after all others followed, the way was blocked, and Jin was shot down.
No-reload run ended in Irenicus Dungeon, as I was expecting. With awful armor and no invisibility Kensai is pretty much the worst character for this part of the game. 2.5 LoB -11 AC also means I can't take any parties without getting killed. I'll still try to find a tactic to beat the dungeon, and probably continue the game with reloads.
Find items with nearinfinity ? how does that work exactly ? Edit: nvm i worked it out
Killed the Smoke and Lightning Mephits one on one so I had enough room to escape. If they're too tough, run away and shut the doors, rest and try again. Mephits can't open doors, Duergar can.
Used Horror on the first Duergar party, stormed the Sewage Golem room and looted it for healing potions and couple scimitars. If hurt, run back, try to shut the double doors in Jailkeep Golem room, make enough distance and rest.
Stormed the Activation Key, then activated the Sewage Golem and ran back to the Smoke Mephit corridor. The Sewage Golem will come other way and open the door for you. Used the one Oil of Speed in Otyugh room and pushed on and got the key, then Helm of Balduran and escaped the level. Of course the key chest will give you nice poison to go with the Haste, among other traps. At this point I had 1 Extra Healing potion left and about 60 hp.
No time to rest, as I lured the four Mephits to previous room and shut the door with my superior speed, and then hacked the pits. Picked up Wand of Cloudkill and Summoning keys, and couple Extra Healing which I drank before pushing onwards. Salt Mephit stunned me for a short time, but it didn't do much damage. Next room picked up Wand of Cloudkill and Monster Summoning, and Ring +1. If feeling healthy enough, or lucky as Jin felt, you can storm the Blunt belt from Mage Duergar room, with couple Extra Healing potions. And finally Jin could escape this hell under earth.
Rielev Room
2x Extra Healing Potion
Activation Stone
Otyugh Room
2x Healing Potion
1x Oil of Speed
Four Mephit Room
2x Extra Healing Potion
Wand of Cloudkill Key
Wand of Summoning Key
Mage Duergar Room
2x Extra Healing Potion
1x Healing Potion
Blunt Belt
That's pretty good tactic I think for a Fighter without invisibility nor summons, although there's still possibility to get boxed in when all are after you. But what's not to like getting heart attacks from this most stressful of places?
Start of BG2 was the usual, enlist with the Thieves Guild, loot Maevar's Guild hall, skipping the last petrification trap. Had 6.5k gold which was just enough to buy the Nymph Cloak. Fight club at Seven Vales. Managed to charm both Amon and Pooky, drank one invisibility potion and blocked the doorway. Pooky tried to Dire Charm Brennan, but it failed. This agroed the rest of them, except interestingly Orcslicer turned yellow, and killed Pebblecrusher. Amon summoned one skeli which revealed invisible Brennan. Pooky casted Hold on Brennan and the skeli hacked him to pieces. The skeli could then casually hack yellow Orcslicer. Pooky and Amon then wasted their spells, and the skeli then hacked them to pieces. Damn that skeli was useful, not every day one skeli kills four named enemies in LoB. Was it a skeli god? Anyway got what I was after, the invisibility ring among other loot which netted 4k gold.
Did the first quest for Thieves guild, then guests in Graveyard, picking up the Axe +2. Also leveled up. Getting to Watchers Keep I already had 10k money, bought Potion Case. Looted De'Arnise for FoA +3, Shield Amulet and other stuff, it's pretty easily done with the Sandthief ring and resting. 19k gold. When testing Dual Classing noticed that Lawful Good doesn't allow dualing to Thief, which was the whole purpose of this playthrough, so I changed it to Neutral Good with EEKeeper. Not that it matters anyway.
Also noticed another interesting titbit in dual classing.
For example I'm dualing 21Kensai->Thief:
1->21 Kensai can put 11 * to max any.
1->21 Thief can put 7 * to only one any.
21->31 Thief can put 2 * to max any.
Put if I wait before I have enough xp to hit straight to the level 22 Thief, I can put more * to max any:
1->21 Kensai can put 11 * to max any.
1 Thief has to put 2 * to only one any.
1->31 Thief can put 7 * to max any.
Is this known behavior? It would be pretty tall order to get 2.64M xp as level 1 Thief in BG2 except, you can xp-loop Firkraag with WoW and Stone to Flesh scrolls no problem. It's definitely better way to max you character.
That is indeed known behavior. I'm not sure that people normally do things quite so extreme as level 1 to 22 , but smaller changes are certainly used - particularly in order to get grand mastery as early as possible.
@Arno: Welcome to the forums and welcome to the challenge! Good luck with your generalist mage. You'll need it for Belhifet; he's going to be a nightmare for a character without fighter levels that's not a cleric/mage or fighter/mage/cleric. I'm not actually sure how to deal the 1,172 necessary damage to him without stupendous luck or maybe spamming Greater Restoration scrolls on Caelar.
@semiticgod I was a little worried about this comment but when i saw your numbers in previous posts i was horrified! But I'm stubborn and im decided to arrive there and dying trying to defeat that Big B with a mage. When i played rpg games more than 20 years ago we have a sentence: "All that a fighter can do, a wizard does it better".
So I started the campaign, killed some bassiliscs with aid of my pseudodragon and doing some minor quest thx to hold person and hold undead when i was able to cast it. Now im lvl 7 and my chromatic orb stuns the objetive, allowying me kill other kind of creatures. I have killed mulahey thx to Algernon Cloack. But Im a completecionist and i want to clean all the missions of the map before continuing the history.
With my SCS + UB installation i have found a scroll of polymorph other in Ulgoth. Thats different from my previous installation without SCS + UB. Do you know if Big B will be affected for this spell?
Thax for all your posts! They are full of valious information! And sorry for my english, is very rusty
so i finaly got out of irenicus prison and i am kinda wondering where is my stuff that i had on SOD ??? i am in need of bag of holding realy badly >< i did imported my character to bg2
Comments
@semiticgod that would be cool if u can make the sling act the same way as bows/shortbows without all those other mod things ^^
I can merge this with my Universal Archer mod later, but I need to figure out the code to fix it properly.
SOD kinda sucks u get xp capped like after 1 chapter already and does anyone know how to deal with a Shadow Aspect ??? lol that thing is deadly even my skellies cant take him for long hahaa
Potions of Firebreath
1x Bandit Camp chest

Dont think this will be enough to beat him but i wish u luck man!
also this game pip focus is dumb i often get so many pips and to only put 1 in the weapon i use and the rest beeing garbage wasting the points i will do the grandmastery sling version after my cleric mage^^
Also do u guys know how to manage Dragonspear Castle Basement once i start the battle with heph the whole map storms at me lmao and i cant exit map to rest up and go back but otherwise so far going good with the cleric mage!
You don't need to fight them, I usually just run to Daeros or the chest and pick up the stuff. Then escape with invisibility.
I've seen this behaviour especially often when I parked them in the top left instead of low right corner.
Belhifet awaits.

Find items with nearinfinity ? how does that work exactly ? Edit: nvm i worked it out
Used Horror on the first Duergar party, stormed the Sewage Golem room and looted it for healing potions and couple scimitars.

That's pretty good tactic I think for a Fighter without invisibility nor summons, although there's still possibility to get boxed in when all are after you. But what's not to like getting heart attacks from this most stressful of places?
For example I'm dualing 21Kensai->Thief:
