Well the will save to negate would be DC 10 + 1 for a level 1 spell + bonus for my level + bonus for my intelligence. I am not entirely sure about my intelligence or my level (make me super powered!) However... I do know I am wearing items that could effect my intelligence bonus negatively. Also sleep only works on 4HD of creatures, and we are presuming we have two level one ogres. I suppose it could be and could not be worth the risk. @Nimran would need two rolls below 11 to be certain of success.
I have memorised more offensive spells. I doubt we will find any information on the missing sword here... But if you see it...
I was thinking about casting Summon Swarm followed by Flaming Sphere, or maybe the other way around. Perfect setup here. But I'll wait until Ignatius gets an approval.
As the party is deliberating, a large tropical parrot lands on a nearby tree. “Message from Harvey,” it squawks. “Don’t kill the hag, or the lady gets possessed.”
"So let's go invisible everyone. Anduin casts sleep, then Ignatius make the gnome invisible too. After that we proceed with exploring the tunnel behind the ogres. "
"So let's go invisible everyone. Anduin casts sleep, then Ignatius make the gnome invisible too. After that we proceed with exploring the tunnel behind the ogres. "
Ignatius casts Invisibility on everyone save Anduin and himself.
“Right,” says Guston. “I have already seen the area, so I know the best direction to proceed that is most likely to keep us quiet.” Guston then uses his memory and thieving abilities to explain to his companions the path to take past the ogres that is least cluttered and most clear, so as to prevent them from making noise.
“Because we won’t be able to see each other, we will have to proceed one at a time. I will go first and quietly place an ‘X’ on the ground on the other side out of sticks or sand or something and we will use that as our rendezvous point. Be careful not to bump into each other as you approach it. I will flag you all down quietly with a stick or something else I can find as Each of you approach.
“After I leave, then Kaled will go. That way there will be a fighter on either side of the ogres to flank them if we make a mistake. Make sure to give a 40 second count after I leave before you take off, Kaled. Then Ignatius, also giving a 40 second count. Then Vaga, then Anduin, then Fiora, all giving a 40 second count.
Not sure if I’m going to be around when/if battle commences. If it does, then Guston will hide using his invisibility spell and heal any serious injuries that the party members sustain, e.g., if someone goes out of the fight. If he has a perfect opportunity, Guston will sneak attack the most distracted or injured enemy when it’s vulnerable to take them out of the fight.
Alright, let’s get started. Guston: Stealth check: 16+3=19
Guston goes first and sneaks around the ogres to the tunnel’s entrance. As he reaches the entrance, he sees two more ogres standing guard at the other end. He also hears someone humming.
*Anduin counts to 40 and hears Kaled move off, she counts to 80 and hears nothing... Maybe Ignatuis is floating? Anduin counts to 120, she feels Vaga, the son she always wanted, move on. She counts up to 160 and enters. She looks for the sticks. Finds none, only two more Ogres, and a hag, possibly humming.*
...
*Anduin moves out of view of the two ogre guards. Prays to Helm that everyone has listened to Guston... And flanked the two original Ogres... Prays to Tymora for luck and casts sleep on the two ogres.*
Kaled: Stealth check: 14+3=17 Ignatius doesn’t really have to make a stealth check because he’s floating Vaga: Stealth check: 11+5=16 Anduin: Stealth check: 18 Fiora: Stealth check: 2+3=5
Everything seems to go well at first. The ogres don’t notice when most of the party passes by them. As Fiora comes to a point near the first two ogres, her foot suddenly catches the edge of a puddle of foul-smelling liquid, and she slips, barely managing to catch herself and keep herself from falling face-first into the puddle. However, the ogres in the first chamber hear the slip, and they turn, just in time to see Anduin cast a spell.
From now on, NPC and enemy rolls will be private. Also the party’s hp totals are: Fiora: 44 Kaled: 30 Vaga: 40 Guston: 28 Ignatius: 12
One of the ogres starts to say something, but then falls asleep. The other ogre shouts “Intruder!” as he picks up his huge greatclub and swings it at Anduin.
Anduin gets knocked to the side, taking 12 damage as he takes the club in the shoulder.
The other ogres hear the shouting, and they both turn and start running up. The humming has stopped.
We’re now taking hp into account. A character’s hp is equal to their class hit dice +Constitution mod times what level you are in each class. Paladins and Fighters get 10+mod every level. Rogues/Thieves, Monks, and Clerics get 8+mod. Mages and Sorcerers get 4+mod.
*Anduin blinks at the Ogre before him. Blinks again looking towards the other two Ogres running towards him. Realises that he is the only person in the party visible.*
Tyr is blessed because he *cough*with his left! Tactical withdrawraaaaaaaaaaalll!!!!
*Anduin starts running away from the scene, towards the cave entrance, casting expeditious retreat as he goes.*
Didn't I get to roll for initiative? I'm casting that spell, after your free attack for breaking out of combat,okay... I hope some-one slits that Ogres neck while I'm gone... With the rest of them...
Also... I thought that was mean doing that roll in private. People could have worked out my level, I could have worked out the rings intelligence negative intelligence modifier without a lore roll...
All right, so there are three active ogres attacking Anduin and Fiora? And one asleep?
Ignatius, levitating, casts Web (from the wand) at the three ogres, hoping to avoid catching Fiora within the area of effect.
(I hope Fiora runs away on seeing the casting.)
AI Script (for use if I'm not online when the need arises): If all the ogres have been incapacitated, and Fiora free from the Web, Ignatius will cast Summon Swarm on the group of ogres. Then he'll refresh invisibility on everyone after the fight.
Fiora swings, and the ogre, not even noticing her lurches forward to attack the fleeing Anduin, causing her to miss.
The other two ogres are not yet in the same immediate area, so...
Ignatius fires the Wand of Web at the two charging ogres as they approach. They both dodge aside to avoid the glob of sticky webbing that shoots forth, and keep running.
The tunnel is wide enough for Kaled to sneak through, and he easily passes the ogres as they charge into the first chamber. Making his way into the next chamber, he sees a seemingly empty cavern. There doesn’t seem to be anyone or anything inside.
"she feels Vaga, the son she always wanted" Hahahaha This is hilarious @anduin.
Vaga, for a split second, don't know who to save, what to do. Since Anduin seem to be in the most distress, he decides to go for the ogres. He trust Fiona can defend herself for now. Ignatius is up in the air as always shooting magic, so he'll be fine. Guston is invisble somewhere and Kaled he can't see but he thought he heard him move away from this scene.
Vaga moves up to the closest ogre and attacks.
Edit, btw attacking from stealth, that gives +AB? (had to stop myself from not writing THAC0 hehe) Considering how crappy my rolls have been in battle so far, Vaga need all the help he can get, hah..
Anduin runs away, taking another hit from the same ogre as he does. Another 21 damage. Meanwhile that ogre suddenly has numerous other targets to choose from, and instead of giving chase, it swings at Fiora... and its greatclub flies over her head and hits another puddle several yards away. The ogre curses.
Meanwhile, the other two ogres get within range to attack. One swings his greatclub at Vaga... and Vaga sees it coming and dodges out of the way. The other takes a swing at Fiora... and hits her in the side. 15 damage.

Actually this is good DM-ing…
"I don't even want to know what I slipped in."
Ignatius, levitating, casts Web (from the wand) at the three ogres, hoping to avoid catching Fiora within the area of effect.

Vaga moves up to the closest ogre and attacks.
Vaga: Attack roll: 10+9=19
4+7=11
11+7=18
2 hits for 8 damage.
Vaga pops out of invisibility and throws a series of punches, two of which hit. The ogre stumbles to the side under the weight of his attacks.
Meanwhile, the other two ogres get within range to attack. One swings his greatclub at Vaga... and Vaga sees it coming and dodges out of the way. The other takes a swing at Fiora... and hits her in the side. 15 damage.
Kaled listens, but he doesn’t hear anything, except for the fighting at the entrance.
Ignatius casts his spell... and the ogre gets blasted. It is not blinded, however.
