are we ready to call the Russian Collusion conspiracy, the whole cause of the investigation and a myth peddled from all corners of the left wing and even parts of the anti trump right wing establishment, a conspiracy yet?
What are you even talking about?
- A foreign regime committed crimes against Americans in an effort to get Trump elected
- Trump encouraged such crimes
- Trump excused and defended the regime, disrespecting the work of American intelligence officials
- Trump's family and campaign officials met with envoys of that regime to discuss working together during the election
- Trump and his representatives lied about his business dealings with that regime
- Trump's representatives and campaign officials and members of his administration lied under oath on numerous occasions about their dealings with that regime
- Trump did crazy shit like have closed-door meetings with members of that regime, without advisors and without so much as an American translator
- Trump has repeatedly sucked up to hostile tyrants and damaged relationships with loyal allies, going so far as to physically shove the prime minister of a country that Putin dislikes
- Trump has repeatedly attacked the rights and traditions that distinguish America from pathetic despotic regimes like Russia
- Trump's business dealings and sources of income have been shrouded in mystery, notwithstanding we know Russian money was funneled through various real eastate dealings of his and of his campaign manager
Those are all undisputed facts. It's outrageous and shameful thst the leader of my country is do pathetic and gutless. And the actions of several of his advisors and family members have crossed the line into the realm if criminal conduct on several occasions. Thus the investigation to determine the full extent of such conduct.
Again: undisputed facts. So... where exactly is this "conspiracy" you mentioned??
Dang, if only we had a Special Council to look into these things and decide if there was any actual evidence of guilt.
In all seriousness, when we are reduced to implying Trump shoved a prime minister of another country because Putin dislikes them and after a couple years of some of the best financed and experienced investigators in the country looking into the claim and coming up with nothing it starts to look obvious that it's a conspiracy theory.
@WarChiefZeke: I find it interesting that Andrew Yang has found popularity among the alt-right, and it reminds me of several conservative forumites' respect for Bernie Sanders. It seems to me like the Democratic politicians that conservatives prefer are actually the ones farthest to the left, rather than the centrist ones like Clinton or Obama.
That's true, because far left figures tend to want to implement policies that will actually help people, rather than continue the "business as usual" that everybody hates. Like Trump promised to but only half delivered on and mostly lied about. It's really the establishment of the left and right that the people in the "far right sphere" that I lend any credibility to tend to hate.
I'll take a stab at explaining the apparent mystery of why the alt-right (or less further right people like me) prefer people like Bernie Sanders or Andrew Yang. They're genuine. I personally can't help liking Bernie Sanders because he's not trying to deceive me or treat me like I'm an idiot who can't understand why he's better than me and I'm a troglodyte. I may be sceptical about how we're going to pay for all of his ideas, but I respect where he's coming from. Contrast that with Elizabeth Warren or Hillary Clinton's preaching guilt and how crappy our Country is and maybe you'll understand why I don't like their philosophy any more than the "You're going to Hell" religion I grew up with.
Hillary's line during the campaign was that America was already great, and Trump was going to "make America great again", which would insinuate it wasn't unless he was in office. So please tell me again who was talking down the country. Liberal voters do often (because this country is a racist, capitalistic cesspool), but Hillary Clinton was decidedly NOT among them. Trump was the one insinuating the country was crappy. It was in his goddamn campaign slogan.

Trump was running against Obama as much as Hillary. A lot of people were sick of hearing about how crappy our country is. Me included. If our country is so bad why the fuck are so many people trying to get in?
Your opinion might not win many votes. Just saying...

There is a lot of truth to the fact that ordinary americans were tired of being told they were racist, sexist, transphobic, islamaphobic, arachnaphobic bigots who existed solely to hate other human beings. So when Clinton said people like me were deplorable I wore it as a badge of pride. If fundamentally hateful people hate me, well, it doesn't bother me all that much.

You mean this full quote here:
“I know there are only 60 days left to make our case – and don't get complacent; don't see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think, "Well, he's done this time." We are living in a volatile political environment.
You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. (Laughter/applause) Right? (Laughter/applause) They're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic – Islamophobic – you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people – now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks – they are irredeemable, but thankfully, they are not America.
But the "other" basket – the other basket – and I know because I look at this crowd I see friends from all over America here: I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas and — as well as, you know, New York and California — but that "other" basket of people are people who feel the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures; and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but — he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.”
Although, right wing media tends to leave out the last half that actually explains the American voter and decide to say everyone who thinks of voting for Trump is deplorable.
They grab a sound bite, run it 24/7 so people can get riled up about it and not explain and comment on the whole speech.
So she dodn’t say that. She probably grouped you and balrog into the “other basket,” the real Americans. For you to think otherwise means you were misled.
So it's acceptable to make awful blanket statements about half of the supporters of your opposition, rather than just all of them?
Check out what happened in New Zealand, then go watch some Youtube videos about it even from so-called mainstream right-wing personalities. Skip the videos themselves, go straight to the comment sections. Tens of thousands of comments saying, essentially, "this is what you get for letting Muslims into white society". A good portion of them are CELEBRATORY.

The trouble is that those Hillary quotes plus the 'bitter clingers' quotes from Obama, particularly the 'Bible' clinging quote, made paladin-like enemies of many conservatives who otherwise might have thought twice about voting for Trump. Moronic pandering to the far-left that bit them in the ass. They may never get the chance to sway those voters ever again. Congratulations...

It's cute you think the Bush dead-enders (the 30% or so still supporting him at the end of his Presidency) are "persuadable".
So you are hung up on one word in the entire speech?
What if she said “some” instead of “half”?
She shouldn't have said it at all. No matter the percentage. The president is supposed to represent everybody (even if it's mostly a sham). She pandered to what she thought was an unbeatable majority. She was wrong...

You don't need those 30%. You do need the majority of the 40% in the middle though. She lost that.

Oh ok. So she is suppose to represent David Duke and his merry band of followers. She should listen to and address their needs equally to make sure she can get thier support in the election.
Are we seriously having this discussion about HILLARY??? Donald Trump wanted Texas, Florida and Alabama to have "A+" disaster relief and didn't want Puerto Rico to get another dime and was threatening California while entire towns were still turning into smoldering ruins. In other words, do everything possible for red states that voted for him, but leave the non-voting territory and and blue bastion to burn and rot. Trump has taken this contempt for the other side and literally applied it to the federal response to DISASTER RELIEF. So, please, spare me. Donald Trump is more openly contemptuous of the other side of the aisle that anyone I have ever seen in my life.

Nope, negligible representation. Not all conservatives are David Duke. My mom and dad think all liberals are communists. Are they right too? Nice try. How about appealing to regular people? Maybe give that a try...

I have never argued that Trump isn't an asshole. He was a preventable asshole, however...
Edit: We could very well have been two years into Bernie's 1st term right now. Or Kasich for that matter...

Nope. But that is who she was attempting to reference in her basket of depolarables comment that the right have now worn with a badge of honour.
How about QAnon who thrives off of people’s gulliblity.

Maybe conservative moderates are further to the right than liberal moderates are to the left. Who knows? I haven't seen any data on this.
Not sure what QAnon is. Is that where the Pizzagate thing came from?

Pretty much. Except you’ll see QAnon merchandise at Trump rallies.

Well, people like my sister that only get their news from sources that agree with them will always be susceptible to fake news like that. That applies to both sides. I've read Mother Jones and they're pretty out there as well. Consider the Source is more wisdom now than ever before. Unfortunately, wisdom is in short supply these days...

Skip the videos themselves, go straight to the comment sections. Tens of thousands of comments saying, essentially, "this is what you get for letting Muslims into white society". A good portion of them are CELEBRATORY.
Those people are assholes. They don't represent me in any degree. My daughter's best friend is a Muslim and I don't give a shit. I even paid $75 for her friend (Madleen) to play in the rec league my daughter played in because she's a damned good basketball player. Now Madleen is playing on the same travel league team as my daughter and might have a chance for a collegiate scholarship because of it. Screw you people who think I'm a bigot/racist...
Edit: That might very well turn out to be the best $75 I spent in my entire life.
are we ready to call the Russian Collusion conspiracy, the whole cause of the investigation and a myth peddled from all corners of the left wing and even parts of the anti trump right wing establishment, a conspiracy yet?
We... do? And... they did find evidence of guilt? A couple dozen indictments, and ~90% of the people who were able to be arrested have pled guilty?
Seems fairly straightforward. Oh wait, by "any evidence of guilt" do you mean "proof that the president committed treason?" That's completely irrelevant. Mueller wasn't appointed to find out that Trump is a Manchurian candidate - this isn't a movie. Mueller was appointed to investigate foreign criminal meddling in our election. That doesn't require a conspiracy. I mean if you want to make up conspiracies there are WAY better ones.
Well, as a Michigan voter whose vote was probably worth 10 times the vote of other states in past elections, I can say that the chosen, groomed one (Clinton) who ran against Trump was the major reason I voted for Trump. I don't think I was an outlier in reality. I don't pay any attention to Facebook or any other media outlet. My one vote was not in anyway influenced by Russia. Unless Russia hijacked votes this whole argument is BS IMHO...
Just today I saw a bit from Fox News, STILL about her emails. Allegedly, some more new ones. "Critical", I believe was the adjective for them.
Exactly why she should have not been running. Bernie might have won. The groomed 'Chosen One' should never have been your candidate. That is inarguable at this point in my opinion.
Edit: Put Warren up against Trump this time and whine about the result. Read about it here first...

It'd be great if people were too intelligent to be swayed by advertisements or propaganda. But that's not the world we're living in.

Should we then eliminate the vote of people who are too ignorant to vote intelligently? I would argue 'yes' I'm guessing you would say 'no' . If that's the case, would you argue that people who don't vote your way are 'ignorant'?
I paid with my own money for a female whose family doesn't believe the same way as me because they didn't have the money at the time to fund her. What the fuck have you 'liberals' done personally? Do you even know or interact with actual minorities? Get off your high horses 'politically' and actually make a difference personally. I'll end my rant now but not before I say I think you're a bunch of negative thinking people in general. It's easy to sit back and lament that the 'government' isn't helping people while ignoring the fact that 'you' can help people. It doesn't even need to break your bank account.

In all seriousness, when we are reduced to implying Trump shoved a prime minister of another country because Putin dislikes them and after a couple years of some of the best financed and experienced investigators in the country looking into the claim and coming up with nothing it starts to look obvious that it's a conspiracy theory.
@WarChiefZeke
Remember, sarcasm doesn't translate well in these forums...
