Georgia (surprise!) has long voter lines stretching into the 100s and people waiting hours. Seriously? In all the years I got to vote, the most I had to wait was probably 5 minutes as I got stuck behind an old couple who knew the poll’s volunteers and were catching up on old times.
I never thought I'd see the GOP actively trying to stop people from voting. We have numerous examples of concrete, specific actions clearly designed to thwart the right to vote:
1. Closing voting stations 2. Arresting people who try to help people vote 3. Designing ID laws to make them tougher on minorities than whites and force people to jump through extra hoops to vote 4. Attempting to restrict early voting 5. Changing election policies mere days before an election 6. Defunding efforts to spread information about new rules for voting 7. Purging people from voter rolls based on technicalities like a missing hyphen in a name 8. Purging people who haven't voted recently from voter rolls
This is not even mentioning other forms of election misconduct, from ignoring security threats to voting machines to posting false information on voter information websites to deleting evidence on voting records before a court date, the last of which were both committed by Kemp. These are not the actions of people trying to win an election. These are the actions of people trying to rig an election.
These are all concrete examples of voter suppression; not just hypothetical fears. It's happening now, right in front of us.

The big story while we wait is of course the long lines in Georgia, over 3 hours in one precinct because it was discovered that some of the machines didn't even have power cords. Well it will enable Republicans to continuously pump unqualified activist judges into the judiciary. That is scary. They will also continue to place insane people in charge of government departments. Also not good but potentially not as harmful as Republican activist judges.
While they won't be able to pass any laws per se without both House and Senate but they already passed the main law they care about - tax cuts for the rich. And their activist judges will have lifetime appointments and will pursue their agenda of grift and assaults on voting rights for them.
So even if we (the people) win, America still loses. Let's hope this doesn't happen - get out and vote.
