Hi, looking to participate in the testing, played BG/BG2/IWD/IWD2/PST originals (and more recently EE versions) to death, really looking forward to playing IWD2 EE and would love to help out!
I would love to participate in testing. IWD2 is a favorite of mine and I replay it regularly- I'm thrilled to see someone is making an Enhanced Edition.
Where can we post bugs that we notice during gameplay?
Here's one so far from me:
Traveler's Robe
(increasing arcane spell duration +30% when equipped -
cannot cast arcane spells - caster is doing casting motions forever -
when armor is unequipped and reequipped the spell then gets cast)
Thanks to everyone who has been working on this so far!
Will/is multiplayer improved in IDW2EE? IDW2's multiplayer isn't great with the gog edition, and I have fond memories of good LAN multiplayer from my teens.
Super excited about seeing this project come to fruition. I'm also curious about multiplayer / LAN bugfixes and weather or not there will be any improvements or updates. The GOG version does not seem to function properly in any multiplayer scenarios.
The most recent update of IWD2EE adds key bindings for automatic buffing.
To use it, first press the "[" button to start recording spells, then have party members cast any number of spells, which must either target party members or target a point. Then press "[" again to finish recording.
After that, pressing the ";" button at any point will cause party members to cast the same spells that were previously recorded, in the same order, targeting the same party members as in the original recording. Spells that target a point will target the caster's location instead. If any of the recorded spells are not memorized at the time they would be cast, those spells are skipped.
Pressing the "]" button will erase the recording until you do a new one.
This is a very fair system that doesn't cheat in any way; the spells aren't cast instantly nor can you cast more than one spell per round. However, it should still speed up buffing somewhat and make it require less effort by the player. Once you have the spells recorded, you just have to press ";" without having to scroll through spell lists.
Here's a video showing this in action. The first minute is spent casting the spells to record. After that, the party rests, and pressing the ";" button causes the party to cast all the spells previously recorded.
I could ask if this mod will work on playstation. After being advised that it doesn't, there is no need for me to then complain that I only play on console so count me out.
Okay, I will be brutally honest, I didn't read through all the comments. There are a lot. Is the EE version going to stay 3rd edition or revert back to 2nd edition.
I tried playing it and it made me remember why I disliked 3rd edition so much. Even 3.5 edition / Pathfinder.
2nd edition AD&D was, by far, the best edition out of TSR/WoTC. I can't get into any other edition and I tried.

They're keeping the third edition rules, but they're improving many things (feats, spells, etc.)

Any chance to try IDW2 EE?

Thanks!
Ahh well that kills my interest in. I don't really do single player gaming sadly.
This kind of comment is silly on so many levels.
Consider that it is a FTP mod and the modders are not put out if you don't play it; they don't see any profit.

It's a thread for beta testers and info.
