I first used the command `pkg install termux-am` and then `termux-setup-storage`. Now, do I continue following your tutorial again since I had to restart Termux?
The 'Child Process Restrictions' option is not available on my phone.
I discovered the day I updated my phone: September 2, 2024.
My device is asking me to update to One 6.1. Do you think it would be a good idea to update it? I even thought, will the 'Child Process Restrictions' option appear if I update it?
Do you think this video is real? He managed to go back to Android 13 without a PC.
@DarthNihilus530 Hold off on downgrading, even though the child process restrictions aren't available, just see for me how far the process will go please.
I want to beable to have a fix longterm not just short-term, so if you get it to work kn android 14, it will also aid a lot more people than jusf you.
I was thinking of another solution, like what if we created a new path for Perl that isn't the Android path? Just like in this video, I think the solution to this problem is that we need to find a way that doesn't require directing the Perl path to another location, one that isn't limited and full of unnecessary Android security measures. The problem is, I don't even know where to start, assuming this is really possible.
Maybe with the help of Winlator this could be possible. Sorry if what I wanted to say was a bit confusing.

It worked
Then do everything else and try to install SCS.
What you said to do must be done in order, first using the command `pkg install termux-am` and then using the command `termux-setup-storage`?

I’m sure I did everything in the correct order, but the result was the same.
Restart everything and I did the whole procedure again.
I basically just trying to cover every base by now.
Entering the phone settings and manually enabling the permissions, if that's what you mean, I've already done it.
So give me more time to look into possible alternatives to this.
Installing Root is not the biggest problem since, with the help of Shizuku, I was able to install Root on Termux once.
But there is a risk since us have to mess with the hidden data of the phone.
Did you discover something?
Additionally Go into developer options and disable Child Process Restrictions.
Go to the android settings and enter into Apps -> (Advanced ->) Special app access -> All files access -> Termux
Then start the process over again from the beginning with pkg install termux-am , then run termux-setup-storage.
Unfortunately I cannot test this, as I don't have a Android 14 device, I was just trying to go through things thoroughly before replying you.
It matters to me that this fix can be as straight forward as possible, given the title of my guide is ''An Idiot's Guide''.

what worked?
I tested it, I don't know if the 'Child Process Restrictions' setting would make much difference, but it still didn't work unfortunately.
I use Samsung A04e
Any news?
I looked in several places, and my conclusion is that there are only 3 ways to install it:
• either Root
• or Downgrade
• or maybe through Winlator
I will try to install it using the Winlator method, and if that doesn't work, I will try with Root.

Your idea for another path to perl for Termux is actually genius, I don't know where to start on this but, I'm going to search around.
