Is there a Twiter or Facebook page to keep us up to date other then the forums or a page in general. Also Youtube to show case the new gameplay tweaks?
None I know of, however you can check this thread page by page, some new features were posted by OlvynChuru and Bub (including videos)

I was about to start a new game of Icewind Dale 2 for the first time in years, then I learned about this project. Do I start a new game without the project, or wait for it to be completed? Quite a conundrum.
I would also love to playtest, albeit with a slightly odd perspective, as I never played the Infinity Engine games when they came out, and am only doing so now

Just found this, I grew up playing IWD2 over and over, my favorite game. Would love to help test and give feedback, I did some work as a QA in the past as well so maybe I'd be helpful.
I would really like to test the game too, and report bugs I see. I played BG2 when I was a kid, and am now playing them again now the EE editions are available. I have played through BG1 EE, SoD, now on BG2 EE, and would really like to try Icewind Dale 2 EE as well.
I tried GOG Icewind Dale 2 vanilla. It was a disaster, I kept playing with the resolution on the widescreen mod until it crashed on me and refuse to turn on again. I just wanna play it and see what it is like
