If you're still looking for testers, I've been playing BG/IWD since the very beginning (and still play today!).

Where can we post bugs that we notice during gameplay?
Here's one so far from me:
    Traveler's Robe
(increasing arcane spell duration +30% when equipped -
cannot cast arcane spells - caster is doing casting motions forever -
when armor is unequipped and reequipped the spell then gets cast)

    HI there!

Thanks to everyone who has been working on this so far!
    1. Will/is multiplayer improved in IDW2EE? IDW2's multiplayer isn't great with the gog edition, and I have fond memories of good LAN multiplayer from my teens.
    2. https://github.com/dud1337 If looking for another tester.

    Cheers.

    Howdy!

Super excited about seeing this project come to fruition. I'm also curious about multiplayer / LAN bugfixes and weather or not there will be any improvements or updates. The GOG version does not seem to function properly in any multiplayer scenarios.

Multiplayer won't work right in IWD2EE. It's possible you might be able to start a multiplayer game, but there would be all sorts of bugs.

The most recent update of IWD2EE adds key bindings for automatic buffing.

To use it, first press the "[" button to start recording spells, then have party members cast any number of spells, which must either target party members or target a point. Then press "[" again to finish recording.

After that, pressing the ";" button at any point will cause party members to cast the same spells that were previously recorded, in the same order, targeting the same party members as in the original recording. Spells that target a point will target the caster's location instead. If any of the recorded spells are not memorized at the time they would be cast, those spells are skipped.

Pressing the "]" button will erase the recording until you do a new one.

This is a very fair system that doesn't cheat in any way; the spells aren't cast instantly nor can you cast more than one spell per round. However, it should still speed up buffing somewhat and make it require less effort by the player. Once you have the spells recorded, you just have to press ";" without having to scroll through spell lists.

Here's a video showing this in action. The first minute is spent casting the spells to record. After that, the party rests, and pressing the ";" button causes the party to cast all the spells previously recorded.

How does this behaviour act on keyboard layouts where [ and ] are placed behind AltGr?

Do we have a release timeframe?

Ahh well that kills my interest in. I don't really do single player gaming sadly.

This kind of comment is silly on so many levels.

Consider that it is a FTP mod and the modders are not put out if you don't play it; they don't see any profit.

Why? It's not a criticism of the mod or it's creators, just a statement on personal preferences.
  • gazoogazoo Member Posts: 11
Because it adds nothing to the thread.

I could ask if this mod will work on playstation. After being advised that it doesn't, there is no need for me to then complain that I only play on console so count me out.

It's a thread for beta testers and info.

Okay, I will be brutally honest, I didn't read through all the comments. There are a lot. Is the EE version going to stay 3rd edition or revert back to 2nd edition.

I tried playing it and it made me remember why I disliked 3rd edition so much. Even 3.5 edition / Pathfinder.

2nd edition AD&D was, by far, the best edition out of TSR/WoTC. I can't get into any other edition and I tried.

They're keeping the third edition rules, but they're improving many things (feats, spells, etc.)

I guess that makes sense. Thanks for the response. I started the long read and just finished the 6th page, wow. I'm still in September 2020 posts and so far, it's been a really good read. So many changes. Too bad Beamdog won't be a part of this endeavor. Hopefully, there will be much EE traffic in the OT section here so I can bounce some party ideas/questions off of players.

Since it's December 2022 and still no EE, I can only imagine all the good stuff that will go into this game. I may have to rethink my second party attempt and wait for EE. My first one fizzled at the dragon in Chult. I killed the dragon once, but didn't make it to the portal in time because my mage died and I had to res him and pick up all his stuff. I didn't save after killing the dragon either. My IWD:C party was 1) 1/2 Orc Fighter 13. 2-Hander 2) Human Fighter 4/Paladin 9. 3) Dwarf Cleric of Helm 13. 4) Elf Cleric of Lethander 13. 5) Human Wizard 13. 6) Halfling Rogue 13.

I wonder if my IWD and IWD:EE party will make it in IWD2:EE. 3 pally (no kit)(human), 2 cleric/mage (both 1/2 elf). 1 fighter/thief (halfling). That's my power group and it shreds.

Here is a question. Hopefully it wasn't asked and answered after page 6. If so, I'll delete it.

In IWD2:EE... Will loot still drop on the floor when a player character dies? It's a pain, even if you implement quick loot, to pick up loot and do an inventory management to make sure that everything is placed back where it was originally.

For monsters, I don't mind. I am used to it from the earlier TSR games and the first 2 Diablos. If one good thing could be said about Diablo 3, at least that got that part right. Talk about a huge QOL improvement. It would be nice to see that in IWD2:EE as well.

Can I get access to the IWD2 EE mod? I have been a huge fan for 20 years and would be honored to participate.

I just learned of this endeavor and I gotta say I'm really looking forward to this! IWD2 is the only Infinity Engine game I haven't played yet.
