Tough choice between this and Ihtafeer as I love weird monster NPCs, but planescape lore took the win.

In several of the offered options, I can't see a credible story logic for why they'd join you, but it'd make sense that Unger Hilldark might join you in order to hunt down Neb.

Unger is True Neutral in spite of being a duergar (who are usually Evil), so he could work with anyone, and he's a single-class Fighter, which could be handy for some parties in a game which has plenty of Good and Evil warriors but not many Neutral warriors.

Anyone as absolutely infuriating as Saemon needs to be in my party, anything less is just wasting talent. And I want to really show him just how much crap we have to put up with.

I would keep his original character sheet , which is Lawful Neutral Drow Fighter specialised in scimitar.

Xzar! BG2 just isn't the same without his wackiness. Also Monty because what is Xzar without his murderous little buddy? And Noober as well just because he's so annoying he could make even the most powerful foe commit suicide.

    also, Lord Foreshadow.

I believe it's Binky. And he's far too super-important to be in the party.

I'm torn between Reyna, Solaufein and Hendak. They really should have been joinable NPC's in the first place. Neb and Renal Bloodscalp would've been awesome as well, especially Renal since I always see him as a swashbuckler.

Yeslick. Because he should have been in BG2, and I would have loved to see him interact with Korgan, Jan and Mazzy.

"Ye sure your not a dwarf, girl?!'

*Jan rants about a bearded-aunt, griffons, and a turnip-stealing blackguard of Urdlen.

Edit: Oops, meant to hit Other/None.

    Lord Foreshadow.

The strange and mysterious seer of the future. Would likely be tough to pull off from a developer's standpoint, but a complete roll over and die to anything weakling with amazing insights into the future. I like it.

As much as it's cheesy (oh let's pick up ANOTHER drow outcast) I'd have to agree with Solufein as the most logical character that could be picked up and would be useful to have around. While we're going that far, why not just make the entire Drizzt party recruitable (as a team only though)? Cheesy, but you could throw in some great banter.

I'd really love having Dradeel (mad mage obsessed with werewolves from BG1 werewolves Island/BG2 Spellhold)

The Spectator Beholder (City of cavern/ Sendai Enclave) is just so fun as well

Definitely Xzar. I'd pay for a sadly impossible Xzar-in-BGII-with-new-voiceacting DLC in a heartbeat.

I'd also still like to see a fleshed out Clara.

I've mentioned before I'd like to have Dili in my party. I like shapeshifting. She's got a cute voice, too.

Ha! I made a very similar thread long ago, but we didn't discuss some of these choices.

I am against the Saemon idea because, while he is a great memorable character, over-exposure would ruin his appeal. Besides... he has betrayed you too many times to trust you to trust him, if ya know what I mean.

Habib - But only for one specific fight towards the end of BG2...

Mister Shade - Why? You know.

Seriously though, I can't name a single favorite non playable NPC, there are quite a few I'd love to group up with, especially the various adventurers in the Black Pits 2.

Aesgareth seems like a nice fellow too, together with Kangaxx, Kirinhale, Kruin and Raelis Shai

no particular reason for this composition. Or add Neera for the mechanical bird and I'm sure the PC could find one or the other candle in the game

I would also dream of DLC making the Winged from BP2 recruitable (after you have completed BP2 at least once, much like Baeloth in BG:EE) with a quest about her redemption (something like three or four major actions ordered by Torm for her to be accepted once again as one of his Devas)

    Quayle!
I mean... c'mon, he's right there! He doesn't even really need quests or anything! Just a flag that makes him joinable.

I know it is BG1, but the friendly werewolf in Balduran's Isle. He/she, depending on charname gender, was written as a potential love interest. Have the werewolf join charname.

Then have said NPC be found dead in Irenicus's dungeon. Having the romance start in BG1 would add extra dialogue options in BG2 romances and for the few interactions with Irenicus (which would spark berserker style effects).

    @Grum:

It could all lead to charname falling in love with Cernd later.

    Cernd: *shapeshifts
Charname: Ooh La La! *goes wild
    Cernd: *runs

If my idea was implemented I'd change cernd to a totemic druid. It fits his personify much better.

At least we have Mazzy and Jaheira. But the male frontliners are more numerous: Korgan, Keldorn, Minsc, Valygar, and Anomen. Sarah and Auren Aseph, two mod-introduced characters, help balance out the ratio.

Maybe we could throw in Shar-teel! That sounds like the feminist thing to do.

Just kidding. I know Shar-teel is a straw feminist.

Branwen makes a decent frontliner. And she is a cleric of Tempus, the God of War.
